Alfred:
Hello everyone and welcome to GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE. This is the Padawan to the Modern Day Mystic himself, Alfred. Thanks for joining us for another spiritual lesson. But before we get to that, a little housekeeping. Just to let you know again that we don't do any advertising. We rely on word of mouth to promote what we do and for you to help us help others. So we are extending our Random Acts of Kindness to Twitter. Yes, Hans has started to tweet! Actually it's pretty impressive. He's pretty proud of himself that he's tweeting. And we're not only doing Quotes via Facebook that are being tweeted, but we're specifically doing little lessons specifically for those people who are following us on Twitter! So we're extending prizes, gifts, audio lessons, and other goodies, not just from you sharing our Facebook Quotes, but those people who are retweeting us on Twitter. We'll be watching out for you. So watch out that we might send you an email and say we're bestowing upon you some goodies from the Hans King Treasure Chest. And of course to get the latest of what's going on, sign up for our Newsletter that we send out once a month. You can always check The Calendar of Events on HansKing.com. You can "Like" us on Facebook or "Follow" us on Twitter to keep up. That's our way of reaching out to you. So that's it for the housekeeping, so without further ado I present to you the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Hello everybody. Welcome on board. What a beautiful day it is! No matter where you are, always remember it's a beautiful day because God is in that day and you are with God in that day. Yes, himself, which is me is tweeting. You can teach an old dog new tricks. I'm trying to learn it, but Alfred says: Don't send it out unless I've seen it first, so...he wants to check all the spelling and the punctuation and all that which I'm grateful for. But he always knows what the intention of the tweet is. You know periodically in our lives, no matter how spiritual we are, we can even be teachers in spirituality, our little human demon, that little meanie that's deep inside of us comes forwards, creeps in, gets through all the cracks and is determined, is determined to take control. I'll give you an example. Have you ever been walking along the sidewalk and seen a concrete building that comes down to a concrete sidewalk, but somehow, somehow a seed got in there. And that seeds starts to grow. And eventually, eventually that seed can crack that building and separate the concrete walkway from the concrete building. So no matter how strong you think you are, that little demon can find a way and eventually he will destroy the building and the sidewalk. You see what I'm saying? So no matter how well intentioned you are, no matter if you teach spirituality, every once in awhile the demon in the humanness of us all raises its ugly head and BOOM! there you are. So the humanness of us has been pre-programmed to pain, despair, disappointment and even though we work very, very hard to overcome any chance of that creeping through, no matter how many walls we build, just keep remembering that little tree that's trying to grow up between the concrete walk and the concrete building. That's what you have to be aware of. It got there, it's still there, but you can reach down and pull it out. And this is what I'm saying to everyone is that you have the power to pull out that piece of dark-side that is trying to overwhelm you. And you know folks, you can be going along and everything appears fine, you're in your life, you're doing your daily deeds, and then out of nowhere there's this little thing that comes up that starts complaining to you: Gee, don't you remember this; Wow, how come we can't do that anymore; or You're never really going to get ahead, I don't know what you think you're doing. And it starts throwing these little naughty thoughts up. None of which children are true. But there is a receptive place within the human condition that allows us to believe "it may be true" and that's where the demon locks onto is the possibility of "what if it is true"? None of what it's saying to you is true. You are exactly where you need to be, doing exactly what you need to do. You are spiritually growing in love, in abundance, human spiritual abundance, because you have set your intention. But every once in awhile we fall off of the ledge of understanding of intention. Alfred, what do you think on this issue?

Alfred:
It goes back to weeding our garden. The slightest little weed, that left untended, can tend to grown and if you're not careful of the slightest weed, the slightest seed that falls into the crack, then you become complacent and allow it to grow. And it's that complacency that we allow for our spirituality to become disrupted. It's called spiritual practice for a reason...

Hans:
Um Hmm.

Alfred:
And it mimics just about every other aspect about being human. You don't go the the gym once, or you don't go to the gym for a year and then expect it to be that way for the rest of your life. You don't eat healthy for a year and then you're fine for the rest of your life. It's taking care of your human self..

Hans:
That's a good analogy Alfred...

Alfred:
...and taking care of your spiritual self. It's like weeding a garden. You can spend your entire life, as Hans was saying, building this wonderful, strong monument  but if you don't take care of the little tiny weeds, then they can very, simply over time grow in the cracks...

Hans:
And Alfred have you noticed how real they appear in the illusion?

Alfred:
Because it grows so slowly.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
And that's what's really the difficult aspect of it is it grows so slowly yet the damage that it can do... I liken it to a tiny pebble in a clear, placid lake. What can a tiny pebble do to this monumental lake? It can cause ripples that can go to the other side...

Hans:
It sure can.

Alfred:
...this tiny little pebble. So it's very, very difficult when you think you've reached a certain spiritual level not to pay attention to the basics. We think we're better than the basics. We think we're over them.

Hans:
I think we think they're self-programmed Alfred. They get picked for us somehow.

Alfred:
Yes, and they don't. They just creep up on us.

Hans:
Yes, we kind of have to have a constant awareness that the humanness of us is out to get us if we're not careful. The humanness of us is not our friend. The little angel that you are, that beautiful child in the mirror is who you are. That's what Spirit sees. That's what They love. But sometimes the humanness appears. And you know I've noticed something Alfred. A lot of times in very advanced spiritual people it is really hard to root that little weed out. It just keeps coming back over and over again. What would you say the practice should be to keep that weed from coming back? Just constant vigilance?

Alfred:
Well there's two different practices that I would recommend I think for just about anybody. Any type of meditative practice would allow a weed like that to come up. Because if you're trying to practice being quiet, being peaceful, and something continuously comes up, then it's in that quiet place that it's going to come up, that it's going to raise its head. And then you identify: Oh, where did that come from? This is interesting. And it's in your spiritual practice that you can identify areas that you need to tend to so that they don't come up. The second of course is through Automatic Writing. For those of you who are able to do Automatic Writing, you're able to get feedback from the Other Side...

Hans:
Excellent...

Alfred:
...for Them to point out areas about your life that need to be tended to. For example, we've had a student for a couple of years up in Canada and the Other Side just harped on him for about six months about being peaceful, being peaceful, being peaceful. And finally we worked through it and found very specific areas for him to be peaceful and it's changed his life. So again, the other thing is through Automatic Writing the Other Side can help you find areas that can help you make a lot of spiritual progress.

Hans:
Very good Alfred. But folks one of the things that I want to emphasize to you a great deal is there is a part of our inner child that when the demon comes up, when the day gets disturbed, when the night gets disturbed, we begin to feel guilty for not having better control. Folks, if we were perfect we wouldn't be here, okay? All of you, remember that. And even though as a Spirit we have to use mind consciousness to overcome the demon, the weed, the spiritual aspect of this practice is greater and stronger than the human aspect. You see what I'm saying? To give you an example, if I'm drinking a cup of tea and the cup slips out of my hand with the saucer and it crashes to the floor, does the tea change or is it still tea? No matter how badly it spilled, the cup is broken - is the tea still tea? The answer is yes. You can mop it up, ring it out, put it back in the cup. It remains the same. Your power, no matter what happens to you remains the same. Your inner craziness sometimes attaches itself to a negative thought and can cause you more aggravation and pain. It reminds you of all the things that you're not, it reminds you of all the things that may never be, it reminds you of all of the things  you're missing. None of which are true. Because if you saw your life through the eyes of Spirit, ah then you'd say: Oh, I'm exactly where I need to be. Oh, I'm doing exactly what I chose to do to learn exactly what I chose to learn. This is my humanness that's trying to judge my spirituality. Can't be done. You see what I'm saying? Can't be done. So your job at that moment is to say: Wait a minute! This is my humanness speaking. This isn't who I am. I choose not to go down that road. I choose not to allow anything to disturb my ease. My dear friend Swami  Satchidananada used to say: Never allow anything to disturb your ease because if you do you will become diseased. Put that in your head for thinking. Never allow anything to disturb your ease. Because whatever is disturbing your ease is not true. If it were truth it would flow through with love. You hear me everyone? If what it's saying is true it would flow through you as love. If it batters up against you, if it causes you to be uncomfortable, disorganized, dis-eased, then it's coming out of the negative aspect from the mind chatter and not from the positive flow of the Spirit. What say you Alfred?

Alfred:
I think it really has a lot to with what we were talking about before which is no matter where you are on your spiritual path, your spiritual growth, no matter how much you think you've already done, that you just need to continue making sure you have a daily or at minimum a weekly regimen for going through and making sure there aren't any pots that are boiling over, any weeds that are growing between the cracks, anything that is in your subconscious that is reminding you...

Hans:
Alfred, don't you find that it's very subtle though in its growth?

Alfred:
And that's the whole point is weeds grow very slowly but after awhile it's very difficult to tell the difference between the weeds that are growing and the flowers that you were trying to grow. That's why it's so important to weed at a regular basis is to go through your human consciousness and subconsciousness on a regular basis to try to get stuff before it gets out of control.

Hans:
Okay, thank you very much. But again, no recriminations everyone. No guilt. Grasp onto it as a lesson to be learned. Nothing more, nothing less. One of the difficulties in the way the mind operates in drama is that it creates it. It creates the drama in order to diffuse the spiritual nature of your being. It deliberately attacks your position. But in a very seductive way, shall we say. Just little tiny zings here... And before you know it, you're off to the races. I'll give you an example. Let's say your mother calls and tells you she's a little disappointed in you for some action that you have created. Now rather than say, which is the spiritual truth of the matter, Bless you mom but that's not my problem and I love you. We tend to go off to the races and it calls up all the times we were invalidates, all the stuff, all the minutia of life gets caught up in that simple statement. Which in the first place wasn't true. The amount of energy children that we give to mind conscious that is not a fact, is not true, and nothing is wrong in the first place - is absolutely staggering...absolutely staggering. You need to hear...it doesn't matter whether you're a boy or a girl because the consciousness flows the same way...you need to hear that your own mind chatter is trying to disturb your ease on a regular basis unless you do what Alfred said which is to weed your garden on a constant basis. I watch Alfred walk down the flower bed outside with Bella and the Ole Mr. Eagle Eye is constantly bending down and pulling out a weed...constantly. Every day. Because they will constantly grown until the winter comes. And so by picking out your weeds, each and every day, it may be no more than 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds... If you don't pull them out I guarantee you they will grow. And they lie to you and the subconscious grabs onto them and makes them look real. It is, to me, totally amazing that the mind chatter can make something that is untrue look so real. Have you noticed that Alfred?

Alfred:
And about everybody else should notice that.

(Hans and Alfred laughing)

Alfred:
I don't think there's anybody in the entire world that who wouldn't notice that being in human form is a royal pain. But that's the reason we came here is to be challenged. Is to be challenged from the moment we're born until the moment we let go of our humanness and that is the same for everyone. Until you let go of the human form, what we're trying to tell you is that there are going to be issues that come up purely because you have human form.

Hans:
And because you're in the human form you are always susceptible to human frailties. Laugh at it, poke fun at it. It's like I have a saying that I'll say: Oh, get over yourself and get out of your way. Because that's all that's actually happening. Nothing that's running through your mind, nothing that's upsetting you, nothing that's making you angry and crabby is true. None of it is true! You made it up. Those around you made it up. There's no truth...none. And yet we invest all of this time in the appearance of the non-reality. So anytime that you start to, like I say, run your crazies, anytime you let something disturb your ease, remember you have a choice in that moment, in that second you can say: I choose be Spirit. I choose to be Light. None of this matters. None of this is true. I give this no more power and I'm available for this to be removed from me. Alfred used to have a technique... You remember the bubble technique Alfred?

Alfred:
In terms of protection exercises?

Hans:
Where you put yourself in a bubble or the thought of a bad thing and then you let the bad thing go to Spirit.

Alfred:
Oh, Oh! To let go of...

Hans:
That really helped a lot of people.

Alfred:
When you're weeding your garden and you find a weed, a seed, any form that it's in, you have to really remember that you're not alone on this journey. It's not you weeding the garden by yourself. All you need to do, number one, is "ask" for help, "ask" Them to come. But the second aspect is not to deal with the issue as if it's reality. It's not. It's nothing more than a thought. It's nothing more than a piece of energy. Thoughts are energy. Thoughts are vibration. And if you deal with the thought, if you deal with, as we were talking about the weed, the seed and the crack of the concrete, as nothing more than a piece of negative energy then you can take that piece of negative energy, hold it out and separate it from your essence and literally give away this piece of energy to the Universe and say: This is not who I am. I release this to you. Cut the cord of that energy from your essence. Say you have no more attachment to this and actually you can feel the Universe willingly take that piece of negative energy from you. So that's the exercise in general is to not deal with the weed, or the seed, and the crack or the mind chatter as if it's anything more than a piece of negative energy.

Hans:
That's all it is. It's that simple. And have you noticed how real it appears Alfred?

Alfred:
Yes. Just like our human lives appear to be real.

Hans:

Yep, but they're not. They are aspects of our own consciousness that we created. We're not living somebody else's idea of who we are. We're living our dharma with a humanness attachment to operate the vehicle of the Spirit in the human form. Use it in such a way that it constantly reinforces you, it's constantly telling you how not good you are, how much it loves you. Don't allow the negative aspect to come in and diffuse you. So whenever the mind chatter puts out this big enormous problem like the questions today and the process I'm giving you today, whenever it builds itself up and builds itself up, stop it and look for the weeds, okay? Because nothing it's doing, it's saying, its appearance, is real. You can prove it to yourself. Okay? And Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Alfred:
Hello everyone and welcome to GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE. This is Alfred the Padawan to the Modern Day Mystic himself who is right next to me. First a few announcements as usual. You know that we're back in Asheville and July 12th we're going to be part of a Spiritual Conference that's happening at the Masonic Temple. We just got the latest information in and we'll be posting that to Facebook as well as our Announcements under "The Spiritual Community" on HansKing.com. Second, on Facebook we just finished our first contest of "Share Hans and Get Your Friends To Like" and we'll be announcing the winner for that coming up on Facebook in the next couple of days once we tally all of the people who have shared and gotten their friends to "Like" us. Third is we've got a lot of appearances for Hans that are coming up during the next couple of weeks so please check our Newsletter. Yes, we know there's a couple of broken links but we're doing our best to work on that. We do the the best we can do that's it. Our intention is to be of service so we love that you're sticking with us and hopefully we're being of service. So that’s it for the announcements.

Hans:
Now Alfred we forgot on little thing that I'd like to bring up. And that is that you wanted...and I know you're going to get embarrassed, but you asked me to remind you to thank all the wonderful people who sent you Birthday Wishes. (Hans Laughing)

Alfred:
Yes, Thank You everyone who sent me birthday wishes. That was very kind of you all.

Hans:
There were a bunch of them so we thank you for that.

Alfred:
I tend not to think about myself when we're focusing on the Radio Show.

Hans:
I know...I know.

Alfred:
It's one of those rare times.

Hans:
But you'll say to me later: Oh why didn't you tell me? I forgot. So...

Alfred:
Today's topic - "Being Spiritual in a Human World" was presented to us by one of our Spiritual Circle Members - Susanna in England. And if you have a topic you'd like to share with us that we'd like to talk about on Air, you can message us on Facebook or you can send it to us via HansKing.com. So again today's topic sent in to us from one of our Spiritual Circle Members - "Being Spiritual in a Human World" and to further explain I present to you the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good afternoon everybody. Wonderful to be back with you. This is a wonderful topic. Many years ago I was reminded of something that I had heard when I was a very young boy and it went like this: Somewhere in the Bible, The Christ is reported to have said: "Learn to be in the Earth but not of it". Wow, that sounds so simple doesn't it? Learn to be in the world...I'll just be spiritual but I won't be a... Well, you know as we go down the path, we find ourselves - since we're angels in human form - we wind up wondering how we got caught up in the appearance of our existence. In other words - reacting. Constantly reacting to things that occur around us. Something someone says or something at work or a disgruntled client or a colleague says something or your mom calls or your dad tells you he's disappointed in you - these types of things. So years ago I attached a little statement to those things that come up in life and the statement was: Not my problem. So being spiritual in a human world, in a human existence, means not reacting to the appearance of difficulty. Knowing that you are perfectly safe, knowing that what needs to happen for you will happen for you. What you need to learn will be presented for you to learn. You can look at that two ways. Number one, you can say: Oh, here's another lesson I think I'll learn that or you can say: Why me? Why do I have to go through this pain? You see what I'm saying? So if you separate yourself from the 'humanness of you'...remember what we've told you - that the body is just a cloak that we wear. That our soul - the essence of our being - remains sacred to Spirit. So when we're trying to be spiritual in a human world it means - who's our old nemesis - mind chatter! It means we make a deliberate attempt not to listen to the mind chatter. Alfred...and listen when I tell you this is not pre-rehearsed - I just sort of give Alfred these things and he looks like a deer in the headlights. Alfred when you were coming out of a very difficult first part of your life when did you notice that there was a separation between your spiritual being and the human world you were involved in?

Alfred:
It's what a lot of us do is we get dragged between the two worlds. In one moment we're happy and blissful and connected and in the other moment we feel that we're getting dragged either through the media, peer pressure, emphasis on money...it's really easy to lose yourself. It's 'what should I be following'? You know, following what's on the media, following what your friends do, following what your parents are telling you seems to be so much easier in the short run than following spiritual principles.

Hans:
Yes, that's very true.

Alfred:
And that's why we're really trying to focus this session on what practices should you focus on to be spiritual in a human world. What things are more important? There are, as you know, hundreds of different spiritual practices. But when you're getting torn back and forth and you don't know which direction to go in then here's some clues.

Hans:
Well you know Alfred, with all the media, peer pressure and the emphasis on money it's really easy to get lost. How do you deal with that?

Alfred:
Well the question is - what do you do? And should you become a chameleon?  Should you blend in? And that's one of the main things that we're trying to emphasis and we're actually reflecting back on what we were talking about in the previous topic is: Your job, in the enlightened path, is to find your own unique individual path. If you're becoming a chameleon and trying to blend in then you're bowing down to peer pressure, you're bowing down to whatever it is around you instead of following your uniqueness. Okay? And so when you're looking at it and say: Okay, you know, I want friends, I want money, I want my job, I want people to like me...

Hans:
Stop...stop for just a second. You just hit on something really, really important - "I want people to like me". Expound upon that for us will you?

Alfred:
It's a human desire to have people like you...

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
... It's a human desire to fit it. It's a human desire to have friends. And what we're telling you is there's two ways to go about it. You can go about it by say being a chameleon and trying to be all Mr. or Ms. popular or you can go the spiritual path which is: You know what, it's my job as a spiritual being in a human body to find my unique path and when I follow that path then people of like vibration, of like mind-set, of like being will be attracted to me. "That which you are you attract". So that's the hard choice. It really is.

Hans:
Yes, it certainly is.

Alfred:
Is to first follow on your spiritual path then wait for those like vibration beings to be attracted to you "or" to just give in and follow what seems to be the easier of the two paths.

Hans:
Alfred, sometimes individuals who are very spiritual have a difficult time in attracting friendships because they tend to see past the illusion and then there's a sense of loneliness that comes. How do you think people who you think are very sensitive and who are very spiritual how can they feel that they're loved as much as people who have lots of friends do you suppose?

Alfred:
Well that goes back to the lesson of self esteem. You are loved, you are enough, you don't need these external things that everybody tells you you need. You don't need to be popular, you don't need to have a bunch of friends. What you need to do is "find who you are". That is a spiritual path. And then once you find out who you are, once you become centered, then you can go out into the world and find true friends according to who you really are. So you can find friends according to your image, according to your ego, according to peer pressure - or you can find yourself and then find your true friends.

Hans:
Excellent...excellent. Because the reason I brought that up Alfred is I have lots of clients who will say to me: I don't feel comfortable Hans in groups of people. I don't feel comfortable with having too many people around me. But then they equate that to: Maybe God doesn't love me or maybe there's something the matter with me and that type of thing... But I like the way you put things. I think it's important for people to remember that they're never alone. That they always have their Guides around them. They always have helpers, they always have friends. So being a spiritual person in a human world...sometimes you feel like you're disconnected from what they call 'reality'. Sometimes very spiritual people don't wind up with a lot or an abundance of friendships. And the question I had for you is that when you were making that transition to having a lot of human friends to having spiritual friends did you feel lonely in that transition between the two? Because I remember it took a little while before you got more friends.

Alfred:
Yes, it's a really difficult transition because what happens is that you end up leaving so many of what you thought were friends who really were acquaintances in a human sense and then working with the Universe, working with your Guidance, working with your Soul Mates, working with your Angels, working with the Universal Energy and that becomes your path. That becomes your source.  That becomes your comfort. It is a completely different mind set about what is important. And it reminds me something that I tell a lot of my clients is: The friends that you've always looked for, the ever supportive, always loving compassionate family that you've always looked for, the support you've always looked for, is always there but you have to give up the human attachment in order to get the truly supportive, truly compassionate, truly loving ability to connect with Spirit, with the Universe is you can't have both. It's really difficult to hold onto your human friends, to hold onto your humanness...

Hans:
And there's nothing the matter with those friends, Alfred.

Alfred:
Well it depends if they are of like vibration or not.

Hans:
They simply don't fit.

Alfred:
Yes. So in some sense there is a little bit of a problem because they may be dragging you down. They may be trying to trying to deal with you on a peer pressure basis and a lot of times you're giving up friends left and right and what's left? Dealing with invisible people you can't see that you're having faith, trust and belief that they really do exist.

Hans:
Right. Well put.

Alfred:
That is a very difficult transition.

Hans:
Well put. What practices should you focus on to be spiritual in the human world? This was part of the original question sent in by Susanna in England. What practice? Faith and belief that you already are enough. That Spirit, in it's infinite wisdom, is in the process of drawing to you all the lessons that you have chosen to learn. But they're also drawing to you all the possibilities of learning those lessons. They don't just say: Here's a piece of paper with a whole bunch of stuff on it, deal with it. No, they don't do that. They present you with the lesson, a repetitive thing that keeps coming up in your life over and over and over. But they also present you with the spiritual answer that if you be still and say to Spirit: I am now available to understand the purpose in this lesson. You will hear, very shortly, a very quiet sound coming from your spiritual being through your chest. Then you say: Aah, I was wondering about that. Maybe that's what the lesson is. What's the greatest lesson for old souls - always children - self esteem. So many, many things will be presented to you under the guise of self esteem and how you handle those directly relates to your spiritual character. So practicing spirituality in the humanness of your life opens the door for the lessons, opens the door to clear the path that you see better, opens the door to let you come away from victimizations of the lesson. It opens a whole new set of being. So practice - love, acceptance, compassion. And those things right there - practice them on yourself first. Okay? Alfred.

Alfred:
And that's a really good thing to focus on. If you're going to be focusing on something it's self esteem: I am enough. I am perfect. So that it gives you the strength, the inner strength to make the right decision, to go the path that you know that's right, to go against peer pressure, to go against the grain of what you see everybody else going towards. To go against what maybe some life long friends are telling you, to go against what your family is telling you and to go "with" the direction of what you feel inside to be correct. That really requires some self esteem. That requires some self confidence. That what you're feeling inside is really the right path “for” you.

Hans:
That is tough Alfred. That is tough. Another question Alfred, should you practice energetic boundaries? For many people Alfred energetic boundaries sounds very complicated. It really isn't. I'm sure you know that right?

Alfred:
Yes and this is something that we talk about in the Intuitive Development Class is the more spiritual you become, the more you become sensitive to the vibrations of others. And as we've been talking about there's a lot of things that are not going to be of like vibration as you go down your spiritual path. And in order to deal with those things sometimes you have to deal with people or situations that you really don't think are of like vibration. You can feel the negativity, you can feel the negative energy. Then we say: Protect yourself energetically. You're not blocking the person, you're not having a judgment of the person. You're just saying: I'm putting up an energetic boundary around me so that negative vibration, that negative energy just doesn't affect me as I become more spiritual. It's helping you stay centered. It's really helping you adjust to your new way of being and it's a wonderful practice to help in that adjustment as you go from being human to being much more spiritual in a human world.

Hans:
Well, absolutely. And one of the things that I taught Alfred early days was learning to put that invisible bubble around you. That invisible white light. So that...one of the things I always say is tell Spirit: To please bring light into that that might bring darkness around you today. Darkness could be somebody else's 'thinking' that is counter productive to you, it could be the news, it could be any sense of small - like depression, your own mind chatter. "Please bring light into that that would bring darkness around me today". And just picture that little thin energetic wall being put up around you. It keeps you in the mix but it becomes once again "learning to be in the world but not of it". Alfred this is a good one. How can you have compassion for others but still stay on track with oneself? I believe those are two entirely different issues. You can always practice compassion for others by having no judgment of them. By whatever you see they're doing, whatever they're saying, whatever they're saying to you or to others, whatever it is - so long as you send them compassion. I don't judge you, bless you. I say "to bless you" I don't know how many times a day. But you can still stay on the track with one's self. Alfred?

Alfred:
Staying on track with oneself is absolutely the most important thing. Staying true to your unique path, your Guidance, being in touch with the Universe, being centered, being peaceful, having non-judgment, realizing nothing's wrong, keeping your vibration high - that is absolutely the first and foremost what you should be focusing on. And then while you're in that peaceful place, yes, you can have compassion for others - for what they're going through. But first of all realizing there is nothing wrong with what they're going through. There are a great many people in the world going through a great many things that are on unique paths that have asked to experience very unique things. Your job is not to have a judgment. If there's no judgment it really shouldn't sway you. That's one of the topics that we've gone over many, many times is having no judgment, having no opinion of what's going on. However, when you see suffering, when you see pain, when you see agony, absolutely you can have compassion for people to try to understand what's going on to determine if you should be involved in trying to alleviate the pain and suffering that is going on. And if not, you're not going to get involved, then there's no reason you shouldn't bless the person. So compassion really shouldn't take you off of your center. Always you want to be in your center before going out to serve, to make sure you are connected, you are who you truly are, your Guidance is with you. So make sure when you see pain and suffering in the world that you first go to your center and make sure that there is no judgment of the situation, you have no opinion of what's going on and from that point, I think, is a good start to have compassion for what's going on around you. So Hans what do you think about being a chameleon in a human world?

Hans:

Well I think what's really important for people to understand is they don't have to be a chameleon. What they have to do is 'don't fit in to dysfunction'. Make yourself unique. Make yourself different. Chameleons blend into their surroundings so nobody will see them, so nobody will know that they're there. They hide from the appearance of physical reality. What I'm saying to everyone is: Let your light shine. Let your spiritual light shine. Learn to be in the world but not of it. Carve your own path in life and people will say: Wow, you've got a really great life. If you listen to the questions from so many of our wonderful people, you can hear them as they struggle while learning to be in the world but not of it. But what Spirit continues to look at is: Have you set your intention? And so they don't look at the deed, they still look at the intention. So don't be a chameleon. Blend in but don't become "of it". You can walk through the world but you don't have to come of the world. Okay? So being spiritual in a human world means opening yourself up to all the uniqueness that is inherent in your spiritual being. Alfred I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Alfred:
Hello everyone and welcome to GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE. This is Alfred the Padawan Learner to the Modern Day Mystic himself. We are broadcasting from Asheville, North Carolina. We have returned to the mountains after the U.S. has gotten through the deep freeze. So there's a couple of things that are going on. If you are in the area Hans is seeing clients in Asheville, North Carolina and also we're attending a Spiritual Fair - July 12 - being held at the Masonic Temple in Asheville, North Carolina. You can contact us for more information on either of those. We're continuing with our Facebook Contest. We're moving everyone as much as possible to Hans King's "Like" Page - that means his Business Page - and that's Facebook/hanschristianking1. You can find out more about going to the Home Page of HansKing.com and you can win a reading with Hans King. The top 3 people who share the most and get their friends to "like" our Facebook Page could win a reading with Hans. And I think that's it for the announcements Hans, so let's just jump into the topic for today. Without further ado I present to you Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good afternoon everyone. Very wonderful to be back with everyone. It's a beautiful day today. You know I had a chance to be standing on the back deck looking out through the  forest and I closed my eyes and I got one view and I opened my eyes and I got another view. In other words when you close your eyes you actually hear and resonate with what's going on in the forest. When you open your eyes your mind has a visual perception of what its seeing, what it wants to see...this bird here, a squirrel there...what have you. It's kind of like in life you know, seeing past the illusion. When I was very young a wonderful Medium by the name of Lilian said to me...I was probably 19 years old so you know that was a long time ago...She said: Always remember Hans that things are not as they appear...not as you see them. And she said: Learning to see past what your mind perceives is in front of you will grow you spiritually tenfold. I thought that was a bit strange. But as time has gone by Spirit has proven to me time and time again that things are not always as they appear. We only, in our minds eye, can identify with what we know. However, if we learn to see past the appearance and we say: Hmm-mm, I wonder what's really in here. What is this really about? For instance I talked to a friend of mine this morning and they had been in a difficult relationship and the person was trying to come back into their life and... I said to them: You know you need to look at perhaps seeing past the appearance of this. What is this relationship really reminding you of? And they said: What? And I said: What is this relationship really remind you of? What is the loss of this relationship? Well then they started to open up. Well, I lost my father, he divorced my mother at a certain age, and that loss was horrific for me and I guess maybe there's a little bit of that in there and then my first boyfriend and there was a little bit of that in there... So sometimes when we're looking at something and it causes us pain stop for a moment and say: Am I really feeling this pain because of this or do I need to look past this to see where this pain may be actually coming from? Now you've heard me for years say: Uh oh. As my friend Alexandra would say: I wonder what's in this for me today. You know folks everyday that we operate on this plane that we're existing on right now we pass through thousands and thousands of other people's cycles, their energies, their dharmas, their plan. So life isn't just clear cut. You just get up in the morning and off you go and you hold a straight line. No, life is about compromise, it's about truly trying to understand what is happening in the moment, what is actually going on in the moment. Is what you're seeing true? Or is your mind deciding that it looks like and or it feels like something that happened many years ago. Is that what's happening? Things are not always as they appear. For instance our Native American people used to say: Don't judge anyone until you've walked a mile in the moccasins. That's very true. Very true. Let's say that one loses a job. For a moment stop and think: Hmm-mm, I wonder what's in this for me? I wonder what this is trying to teach me. And most of you will say: Well I never really liked the job anyway but it's what I had and I needed to pay my bills and pay my rent. And so what happens is that we begin to lock ourselves into things that we perceive are happening when really they're nothing more than some choices we made for some experiences. Sometimes when we are in the middle of something we perceive it to be a certain way when actually it's something from our past that is now clouding something in our future so we need to learn to see past the illusion of what we think is going on and really look at what might be going on.

Alfred:
Yeah, that's a really hard thing because so much of our life we have been spending time trying to figure things out, trying to figure out the way life is. However, most of that has been coming from ego, from our brain. And what we're actually trying to tell you is the path to figuring things out is not figuring them out,  is by letting go, is by surrendering, is by letting go of perceptions, opinions of the way that things are so that those perceptions, those opinions, those past ways that you thought you had figured things out don't interfere with the way that you look at things.

Hans:
Yes, nicely put. Perceptions Alfred and opinions, very good. Those two words are very important for people to hear in this particular lesson.

Alfred:
Okay.

Hans:
Perceptions and opinions...of the mind, you see.

Alfred:
So there have been many shows where we've been talking to you about letting go of perceptions and opinions and why that's important. But specifically, we're talking about clarity in this show. And it is through clarity, it is through peacefulness, it is through being centered, it is through letting go of humanness that in general you will find who you are. You will find your connection to God and Spirit. You will find true peace. But specifically in this subject it has to do with seeing things clearly not just seeing the universe clearly but seeing human life clearly. And there's a thing that I've been discussing with my students recently is that the more spiritual you become the better human you you become. You can actually see things clearer. Things don't affect you as much. You're must more peaceful, much more loving when you deal with others. So by letting go of perceptions, opinions, you see things as they are. Things don't bother you which as we've talked about many times - there really is nothing wrong. So you can see how all the themes we've been talking about weave through each other. But if you want clarity, if you want to be able to see a flower and see the miracle in the flower and be joyous and blissful by the simplest things in life... A lot of what I've found, and what I'm learning from my students, is by letting go as much as possible. Letting go of the way that you think things are and just taking them for the way that they are without adding anything, without presuming anything, then things become a lot clearer.

Hans:
Well absolutely and you know, I bring this up a lot because it's happened to so many people during these last 3 or 4 years where someone loses their job...and I have a friend of mine that when he lost his job he called me and he was very sad and very upset and then he said: Hmm, Hansy what do you suppose they're moving me up to? And that's the attitude that I'm looking for. What is Spirit moving you up to?  What's the next level? What's the next step? Don't go and try to duplicate what has been people. Say: Oh, this will give me an opportunity to look at what else I can do. You've heard me say throughout my many years of service say: Don't become what you do. And unfortunately for so many people in this country we become what we do, not who we are. And it's fascinating when you ask someone: And who are you? And they say: Oh, I'm a Doctor or I'm a Store Owner or I sell shoes on the Internet. No, that's not who you are. That's what you do. Again, seeing past the perceptions, the illusion of life to my way of thinking is one of the single most important things you can ever do for yourself. We have a mind set that says "this is who we are and this is what we do". And then we begin to react to the job, to the relationship, to whatever it is as though we had nothing to do with creating it. Learning that thoughts are living things and that what you are putting out there in life is actually on its return to you. Then it is easier to see past the illusion of life. Right Alfred?

Alfred:
Yeah, and that's the second part of why it's important to see past the illusion. Why is it important not to add to, to make sure that you don't try to understand what is going on around you. Now of course there is the exception to say: Okay, my job is to be a Botanist and I'm supposed to understand Trees. Sure, fine. Then that's your job scientifically to understand that specific area. But if it not your job, if it's not your life's purpose to understand anything - try not to, okay?  And that's pretty much the majority of us is don't try to understand with your limited mind the way things are, the way people are, the way nature is. And instead, number one, just realize the miracles in everything. Again I quote Einstein: “Everything is a miracle or everything is not." That's a choice. We tell you that everything is a miracle and that you don't need to understand it. That everything has a divine purpose and a divine order in things because of the way that God has created the universe. And second, when you don't try to understand, when you just let things be, you can be much more in tune with the flow of the universe. You're much more able to receive guidance. You're much more clearer, much more peaceful in order to follow the flow, in order to follow the direction that your dharma wishes to take you. That your Guides are directing you towards those experiences. You're much more able to experience things in the moment. Okay? Pretty basic lesson there about "being in the now”. If you're trying to figure things out according to what you understand, you're not in the moment. You're not experiencing it fully. So seeing past the illusion is taking things for just the way they are and connecting to the universe and seeing if there's some energetic and vibrational possibility in there for you. But if not, then just simply "be", simply allow it to “be”. And for most of us that's really difficult. I had a huge struggle as Hans knows with not understanding, to letting things be. Because so many of us were classically trained in that so I'm talking to you from my heart when I say: Yes, it's a spiritual practice to try not to understand. But there are so many spiritual benefits to not understanding.

Hans:
Exactly.

Alfred:
Again, spiritually is so opposite of humanness. In order to see past the illusion,  you need not see. You need to let go. You need not to understand in order to allow yourself...

Hans:
And that was difficult for you wasn't it Alfred?

Alfred:
...to let the illusion "dissolve" I think is another way of looking at it Hans. Is that not by adding, by not understanding, by not having a perception, by not having an opinion, the illusion dissolves and then you can see things truly the way that they are. How's that?

Hans:
Well not bad for a Padawan. As I'm looking out through the windows here all I can see is the middle of the forest. That's all I can see. Green branches, squirrels, green, green, green, green, green. Three months ago I looked out these windows and all I could see was brown and gray...brown and gray, brown and gray. And I separated them and I said: I like the one with the green. But then Spirit said to me: Ah, you're limiting yourself. You can't have the green Hans without having the brown and gray branches. The trees have to go to sleep. And so they said to me: Incorporate it all into what it is. Not the illusion that you wish it to be. So again seeing past your perception and seeing past the illusion of your mind chatter opens the doors for so many new adventures. You'll be absolutely astounded as how much is available for you. You know you've often heard me say I have this little sign that says: The longer I live the more I'm certain of how little I know and it's just fine.

Alfred:
That's a really good point Hans is we touched upon a topic of any individual's ability to understand what someone else is going through. So say for example, somebody yells at you, somebody's mean to you, somebody does something you perceive is bad or painful. What makes you think you have the right to judge or have an opinion of that person's behavior?

Hans:
Uh hmm.

Alfred:
What do you know about that person's life? What do you know that has happened to that life? What do you know about that person’s dharma? And the lessons and the experiences that that person has asked to go through.

Hans:
Yes. Exactly.

Alfred:
So believe it or not even if someone is perceived to be mean to you, what makes you think that it's directed at you and it's not just what that person is going through? So again we go back to the topic of "in order to see past the illusion", such as this person is being mean to me, to say: Wow, that person's probably going through some really difficult life challenges.

Hans:
Exactly and you send them a blessing.

Alfred:
And you send them a blessing and you wish them well and you pray for that person and you send them good vibrations. So see how by simply letting go of a perception which seems to be pretty obvious the person's being mean to me...by letting go of the perception and holding a negative thought you say: I have no right to judge that person. I have no right to form an opinion. Instead I'm just going to send them loving thoughts, blessings. So by simply letting go you're able to turn a negative vibration quite simply into a positive vibration and adding love and karma to the universe.

Hans:
We get locked up in our perception of "what is" and "what isn't" based on our own personal needs. As I was looking out the window I was reminded by Spirit "that all is in perfect harmony". There is no negative...that the leaves are part of the tree branches, the tree branches are part of the roots which nurture the leaves. It  is all one. My mind wanted to separate it. As you all know we have a problem with Alfred and cold. I tend to view it the following: It is, period. And I can't have the sunny days and the warm days without having the colder winters. I will never win this battle with Alfred because he has no intentions of learning it. However, when you realize that employment and unemployment are all the same - there is no separation - there is no difference. It's only an experience that's passing by you, passing through you. And if you take the opportunity to say: Wow, I wonder what's in this for me? And act out of a positive way then you don't go into the victim role. This is where you lose yourself children is in the victim role. When you start to perceive that something has been done to you or you're being punished. No, see past the illusion and realize you're being moved to a new location. Whatever that location may be. It could be a different kind of a job, it could be a wait so that you learn the value of trust. But what I've found is that if you get that you're not a victim and you see past the illusion of the situation, Spirit moves you through the lesson rather quickly.

Alfred:
And that's a good point about letting go. We touched on it a bit earlier is by letting go and I’m going to change the topic a little bit, letting the illusion “dissolve”  instead of seeing past the illusion...

Hans:
You've found a new word you like haven't you?

Alfred:
Yeah, I like it because seeing past it means that it is there. But the truth is it's really not there. It's only in our heads. And by letting go of humanness - that which you think is real is really not. And then once the illusion dissolves you can be more in touch with the flow. Not necessarily the flow of other people's but your flow. And what is that flow we're talking about here? Your individual life dharma. Being in coordination with your Guidance. Being able to receive guidance so that you can understand what is going on in your life. To be able to understand what is the next step in your life. This is a huge part of what we try to pass on to you. By letting go of the illusion, allowing perceptions and opinions to dissolve, letting go of those things, you open yourself up to possibilities you could never fathom. Such as: Oh, losing my job is a possibility. Instead of saying: Oh, I'm a victim. They fired me. They abused me. No.

Hans:
Absolutely. Don't go there.

Alfred:
By letting go of the possibility that you're not a victim that you're not, excuse me, the opinion that you're not a victim letting go of the perception that you were abused, letting go of the perception or opinion that you were wrongfully terminated...maybe you could see and feel that Spirit is actually guiding you to a new position...

Hans:
That's the key.

Alfred:
...which is better suited for your dharma. However, if you're stuck in negativity and negative thoughts and you're in humanness and in stress you're going to block what the Other Side is trying to coordinate on your behalf.

Hans:
Yes, absolutely.

Alfred:
Okay. And that's another reason why it is so important to let these perceptions and opinions of the way things are, trying to understand the way things are can be not just fruitless but anti-productive. Productive means that you're not in the flow, you're blocking the flow, you're disconnecting from the flow, you're disconnecting from your Guidance and instead just saying: Let me be peaceful. Let me let go of any perceptions, any opinions, any understanding so that I may be in tune with the universe to say: Okay, that was nice. I'm very grateful for that opportunity. What's next? What is there next for me and to work with your Guidance to go with the flow.

Hans:

I think that's very important Alfred when we can get ourself to the place that says: What is next? Where is God taking me? This is exciting. And folks there's one thing that happens when someone gets terminated. Two things occur. Number one - their self esteem is affected. Number two - will they be alright financially. If something like that happens to you if you say: I thank you for this that's going on. I thank you for taking me to a new level and thank you for taking care of me financially. I know you're there for me. That's all you have to do. And somehow children, the bills will get paid. No matter how bad things have gotten all of us have gotten through. There have been times in my life where I've lost things that were heart wrenching to me, heart wrenching. However, I pulled my boots up and I said: Okay, what's the next life? What am I to do here? Where am I to go? And every single time what I thought would be the worst thing that could happen to me turned around and was one of the best things that ever happened for me. So just know that just because something appears as wrong learn to see past the illusion. For instance, the stations that you listen to report the news that's manufactured...you see. They take little stories and make into big stories. Seeing past the illusion. Try not to watch too much news, okay? Alright Alfred I think that concludes the lesson for today.

GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE RADIO SHOW

Topic: Technology and Spirituality

Alfred:
Hello everyone and welcome to GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE. This is Alfred, the Padawan Learner to the Modern Day Mystic himself - Hans Christian King - who is on the line with us. We have a very interesting topic for you this week. And to further discuss "Technology and Spirituality", I present to you Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Well, yes we are finally getting our act together. Getting all of our devices in order and being in one place at the same time. So things are beginning to smooth out. We thank you all for putting up with us over the last 4 weeks. A dear friend of mine, on several occasions has sent me an email and talked to me personally about looking at: “What does all this electronic hardware, and all the things that we're being wired for, what does this do for us spirituality”? Spirit is very concerned about this issue. And I have been concerned about it myself because They're concerned about it. And what they tell me is that: "We're using the electronics, for instance - our iPhone, our iPad, our computers - I can't think of any place that I've been recently where people are not on their iPhone or iPad. And I'm talking about airplanes, airports, buses, cars. I saw a couple the other day, having a beautiful lunch and they never said 10 words to each other. He was on one device and she was on another device and they were busier...and their meal sat there and got completely cold. And then the gentleman sent his back and asked why he had been served cold food. And the gentleman who was serving said: "No Sir, you weren't served cold food. You were served warm food. You allowed it to get cold". And what Spirit is trying to help us to understand is that when we say: “Try not to be of the mind”. “We don't then mean  be of the computer". So what's happening is...we're not able any longer...many people, to function without a device of some kind. And this is "not" what Spirit had intended when they worked with us to put our dharma together, to get our karma in line, and to learn our lessons. This never had anything to do with any of that. And what we're doing is loosing our ability to communicate with the Other Side because of these devices. And it is a growing concern, in the Spirit, that people are basically becoming "automatons" to a computer or a hand-held device. Dear Ones, I can't think of anywhere I go... I went with a dear friend of ours who's in town to the Beach yesterday. And I saw these families, some from Europe, some from the U.S., a family from Japan was there and every one of the children was on some kind of a device. And not just games...not just games. And I had to ask myself: "What has happened"? I saw one man try to get his son to go into the water for the snorkeling and he kept saying: "No, wait a minute, I'm talking to somebody". "No wait a minute”. “Oh, I have to call..." He was totally disconnected from the possibility of "fun". And these devices, what Spirit is concerned about, is taking away from our ability to communicate with each other. I have a client who works for a major computer company and all she does, and they pay her $300,000 or $400,000 a year, to teach the employees how to talk to each other because everything is sent by memo. We are loosing our ability to remember who we are, this baby angel in spirit form. We are loosing our ability to communicate with the Other Side, and we're loosing our identity to the computer world - the electronic world. Now, I know I sound like old sour grapes, and yes, I do have a flip phone. But I also don't put myself out there on the Internet, other than Facebook. I don't do LinkedIn, I don't Tweet, I don't Twitter, I don't do any of that stuff. I don't tell people everyday that I'm going to the market, or I'm stopping by the bank, or pardon me, I have to use the restroom so I have to get off the phone. None of that stuff. First of all it's nobody's business what you are doing. And why would you want to put your entire life out on the Internet for millions of people to see? There has to be a part of you, a spiritual part of you, that you "hold in reserve" that allows you to be "just who you are". Not what some program on the computer says you are. So it's very important for all of us to begin to sit back. And I'm going to give you some homework. I want you to all get a little pad, a little ring-binder that just flips up and the pages turn up, and every day mark down when you were on your computer. Even if it's just to check your messages. Okay? Every time you use your iPhone. I call it iPhone because I don't know the term for all of those phones, Samsung and all that. But every time that you're on one of your devices, for any reason whatsoever, I want you to write down the time. When you started and when you ended. And then at the end of the week, I want you to look. You might be very surprised how much time you are spending not doing what you could be doing - which is enjoying your life and enjoying yourself. People say: "Oh well, the computer is my life". "No, you substituted your life for the computer".

Alfred:
Now I think that's a good lead-in Hans to taking away our spirituality and substituting it with electronic devices. There's two things that I see after being on computers for a very long time...

Hans:
Very long time...

Alfred:
Very long time. I've been in IT for 25 years and now we run pretty much your entire business and reach out to everyone around the world through computers. The first is that computers, especially those of us who got hooked on Facebook, email, communicating with other people - is that we're looking for something. Looking for something "out there". Looking for “happiness” or “acceptance”  through having more friends on Facebook. Looking for "connections", seeing what everybody is doing. Looking to see if anybody loves me. How many people have sent me emails today? Okay? It's a pretty normal thing to say: "I didn't get any emails today. Well no one must love me" or ...

Hans:
Isn't that interesting Alfred? I caught myself doing that the other day after that rush of emails that I got from all over the world wishing me Happy Birthday.

Alfred:
Yes. Wasn't that nice people did that?

Hans:
Oh my God, I was so happy. That was so nice of everybody. And you know Alfred, in my work you don't stay in touch with people most of the time. But you have these wonderful encounters with somebody, they go off into their life, and then what they were given happens, they let you know that it did, but then they get all into their life. I had emails from people that I had written 30 years ago to...30 years.

Alfred:
So I do feel that the Internet does serve a purpose. It does help us "reach out", provide your message. It's the "addiction aspect" of it is the first part I want to talk about. Is that when you become addicted, when you start looking for the high, when you start looking for the adrenaline rush that is associated with friends and contact, that really is interacting with the humanness aspect of you. That's the logic, the control, the addiction, the adrenaline. So what we're trying to tell you,  the first part that I've experienced, that "search", that "adrenaline rush", that "need to be accepted", is drawing you closer to your humanness. Those are human traits. Those are human attributes. And when you're in "your humanness", you are farther away, you are disconnecting yourself "from" Spirit, your spirituality, your soul. "No two things can be in the same place at the same time", as Hans has said 60 million times. Okay? So that's the first thing to "be aware of". So as you interact with the Internet, the first thing that we'd like you “to be aware of” is that addictive behavior - that search - are you searching for something - are you searching for acceptance - are you searching for a rush - are you searching for adrenaline - are you searching for something, whether it be friends? That's the first thing that's going to tell you: "You've gone over the edge". You're leaning too far towards your humanness. Now is it a "bad thing"? Well, it depends. It depends if you're a spiritual seeker. It depends if you're trying to interact with the Universe, live as a soul, keep your vibration high. If that's important to you, then when you hit that point that "you're searching for something out on the Internet to make yourself better, better that you already are,  you probably should take a look at that”. Okay? The second aspect that I've seen over the years, of learning under Hans, is the necessity to have quiet and down time. Our inclination as a human is: If I have some quiet time - Oh I can do something, I can do some work, I can check my email, I can search for this thing, I can go buy that thing, I can do some research about this.

Hans:
Alfred, on what you just said right there: "Let me check my email". If we can help people to understand that: "No, they don't have to check their email". It's a "choice". They “want” to check their email. It's the "have to" thing, Alfred, that's beginning to bother Spirit.

Alfred:
Yes. That's part of the first thing is: I “have” to do this. That's a human, made-up thought that I "have" to do this, I "have" to check my email, I "have" to get back to people. Again that's leaning towards your humanness. But if there's one thing I've learned from Hans is that “it is in the nothingness", “it is by "doing nothing", “it is by setting aside absolute quiet time", that you let go of your humanness as we were talking about in point number one, and you allow yourself to float, to be connected to your soul, to be connected to the Universe, to interact with the Other Side, to be "p-e-a-c-e-f-u-l". It is good to let your brain rest and say: "You know what, there is nothing I need to do. In this moment it is enough for me". Okay? And that's really the essence of the second aspect is part of the work you do in spirituality is the struggle between what your humanness tells you and what we tell you to do, what Spirit tells you to do, is humanness says "go do this", "go do that", “go do this", and spirituality says: "No. I have everything I need". Just this moment right now, to get into a higher vibration, communicate with Spirit, to be peaceful, to be restful, to be happy in the moment. That means: “not picking up a tablet”, “not picking up your email”...

Hans:
Alfred, have you noticed that when we go out...have you noticed that people will be having a conversation amongst themselves and someone's cell phone will ring and the person will take the call? Or an email reminder will come in and they will start emailing? This is in the middle of dinner, with friends.

Alfred:
Yes, and I think that's really the essence of what we're trying to say here is, to remind everyone is “what is important". Yes, it is important to interact with other human beings, absolutely. But, Hans really harps on me about this: "the need to", "the must have", "it has to be done now" - that's an illusion, that's made up by your mind.

Hans:
Yes. There's no truth to it.

Alfred:
There's no truth to whether you need to pick up that call "now", in reality probably interacting with the person in front of you is way more important than the call that's coming in...

Hans:
Alfred, there's a commercial on TV and I don't know whether you've seen it or not. Choice, to either stay home and work on her computer answering emails and that type of thing OR coming out of her house, grabbing her purse and her coat walking down a block, a block and a half, and seeing all her friends at this very nice little bar/pub-type place, all talking to each other and interacting. And the commercial is basically saying: “You have a choice. You should remember that seeing your friends, yourself, the value of yourself, the value of your friends, that's what is important”.

Alfred:
Yes. And this is what we're to remind everyone is, in the first aspect, in your search for spirituality, in your search for truth, “less humanness is better”. That means “less searching”, “more acceptance of who you are”, “more acceptance of being peaceful”, is more important. And secondly, “not filling space" every moment with: “Oh, I have a minute, let me check my email”. “Oh, I have a minute let me take”... Well, like I did this morning...let me take french fries and go feed the birds because we don't have any birdseed down here, but we have french fries, and the birds like french fries...

Hans:
And don't ask us how we happen to have french fries everybody. The reason we have french fries is because if we order some fish or a hamburger or something, they give us french fries. So we save the french fries and bring them home.

Alfred:
Now your brain would say: "Well, that's not logical. You know you could be using the time spending it on your email”...

Hans:
Sure.

Alfred:
Hence, what we're trying to tell you is: "We're the opposite of your mind chatter". Sound familiar everyone? We're telling you: "Don't believe your mind chatter”.  Instead go interact with nature. Go outside. That is more important. No, we're not saying completely shut your email down, never check your email... It's the "addictive behavior"...

Hans:
That is correct.

Alfred:
It is "not allowing for peaceful time", it is "not allowing..."

Hans:
Well, it's allotting your time isn't it Alfred, really?

Alfred:
Yes, it is. Yes, of course you need to do "human things". But have you done your spiritual homework? Have you done that inner work? Just like you allot time to check your email, have you allotted time to be peaceful? Have you allotted time to interact with your friends on a human basis - not electronically? Have you allocated time to be peaceful? Have you allocated time for your Safe Place? Have you allocated time for meditation? Have you allocated time to just feel wonderful, interact with nature?

Hans:
Well, like you did this morning. You went out and started talking, we have this big Grackle birds, and he was outside talking to the birds and saying: "Oh, I hear you. You can stop yelling so much, I'm coming". It's spending that time Alfred, that personal time with you and nature, I think is very important.

Alfred:
Um hum. Yes, and that is "practicing your spirituality". We're trying to help you "be who you are" and we're trying to help you “be less of who you are not", okay? Through the addictive behaviors, which I know quite well, we won't get into that, of searching, the adrenaline rush, the acceptance...okay? That pulls you back into who you are "not". It pulls you "away from your spirituality". Those are the two aspects that I personally have experienced. I'm sure there's some other areas and other explanations of it, but what we're saying is: "Find a balance". Yes, you can check your email. Yes, you can interact with people. Yes, you can Skype. Hans does some of his readings via Skype. But it's "did you take the time away from being human towards doing the inner work, towards your spiritual growth. Did you set aside that time”?

Hans:
Well Alfred, something else I've noticed is that sometimes people don't have an understanding of who they are and they also lack, or they perceive they have no control over anything. That's one of the reasons that the hand held devices for changing the channel were so important to men. Because they feel that in their daily life very little do they have control over. I think with computers sometimes it gives us a sense of "instant control" and "instant gratification". You ask a question, there's the answer.

Alfred:
Yes, well what is "control"? Control is "humanness". It's a lack of faith. What is spirituality? “Surrendering”. Spirituality is always the exact opposite of "humanness".

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
The exact opposite of "control" is "surrendering". What spiritual practice in the world does not tell you to “surrender”? ALL spiritual practices.

Hans:
They all tell you to “be peaceful”.

Alfred:
All tell you to “be peaceful”. All tell you “to surrender”. And if you're looking for that "control"...just something for you to look at.

Hans:
I think that computers Alfred, have actually cluttered the mind. Computers were supposed to de-clutter our life, make our life simpler. That was not the case as everyone now knows. But finding a time for your computer, not taking your iPhone to dinner, it's not necessary unless you have children of course. But learning not to answer your phone at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spending time with the family, quality time with friends, quality time with yourself so that you don't constantly have to be entertained 24/7. Entertain yourself, you turn the music on right away, you turn the computer on right away, you put the coffee-maker on right away... You turn on the things that desensitize you from just being you. And then you wake up and say: Oh my God, I've got to do this”. “I've got to do that”. And Alfred, you do that sometimes. And I do that sometimes. Have you noticed?

Alfred:
Yes. Well, we're all still in human-form and...

Hans:
Yes, we are.

Alfred:
...as we like to remind all of our clients as much as possible, you're never going to be perfect. You're always going to have...

Hans:
You don't want to be perfect.

Alfred:
...until you let go of the human body and go back to the Other Side, there's always going to be bumps. There's always going to be, oh what's the term?

Hans:
Human frailties?

Alfred:
Yes. That's a good one. Not "sucked in". Sucked in towards something that was attempted. Yes, I'm thinking of Adam and Eve somewhere...

Hans:
Tempted...

Alfred:
You're always going to be "tempted" as long as you have a connection to a human body, there will be temptation. It is through soul's growth that you overcome "temptation". You overcome "addiction". Sound familiar everyone?

Hans:
I go outside before my work every day. And I just go for a short walk through the complex. And there are bougainvillaea, and different kinds of flowers growing, and I'm developing a relationship with a plant outside my kitchen window which is a big Monstera plant, a big tropical plant, and it has a new flower on it and it's hidden in amongst the leaves and I tell it how pretty it is... Going out and being in nature, if I pick a Hibiscus to bring into the house, I thank the plant for the Hibiscus. Getting out of the electronic mindset that we are being programmed to.  I know it sounds wonderful kids when Apple or Hewlett Packard or Dell donates all these thousands of computers to underprivileged children. That sounds wonderful. But are we also downloading to those children "the uniqueness of who they are" or "they could be somebody with a computer?" Interesting question, Alfred.

Alfred:
It is. And I was actually looking at Member Questions, trying to get that organized... So I missed what you said, sorry... (laughing)

Hans:
See folks, that's why you love us. What you see is what you get.

Alfred:
Yes, it is. I'm trying to...

Hans:
What I was saying Alfred is these wonderful companies that donate all of these computers to underprivileged children. It's a wonderful concept, a beautiful idea. But what they're really saying is: "Someday you can be somebody because of this device". Rather than saying: "You already are somebody, but you might have fun doing things with this device".

Alfred:
Well, if I may quote you Hans...

Hans:
Oh.

Alfred:
"Everything in moderation".

Hans:
“Everything in moderation”.

Alfred:
And that's the trick here. Even Buddha knew "it's the middle path"...

Hans:
That's right.

Alfred:
When Buddha started out, he realized that over-eating was bad. So he went to the other extreme - one grain of rice a day. And then he realized the lesson of the "middle path" is just like tuning a violin or a guitar. It can be flat, it can be sharp. But what's "the middle path"? Where’s the path of "moderation"? Granted that's a very long subject in itself. But it's saying: "Yes, you can do these things. Yes, you will have faults. Yes, you will be as a human." But are you going overboard? Are you becoming addictive? Are you looking for that adrenaline rush? Are you looking for things? Are you going too far? That's what we're asking you to be aware of.

Hans:
Exactly. Are you going too far? And so, in the morning, rather than immediately having an electronic device to turn on... Now I'm not saying to you folks "don't turn on the coffee maker or the tea machine". I'm not saying that to you. Because you don't "engage" those things. I'm talking about the things that you "engage". The things that take you "out of yourself" and into the electronic highway. It doesn't matter that you didn't answer your mother's phone call. It doesn't matter whether Mary Jane's husband yelled at her. What matters is: "Can you bring yourself in any given day to a peaceful place without an electronic device?" Because if you can't, the world is in for very serious problems as time goes by. I think what we need to do is we need to find a place inside of each one of us that allows us to open as many doors for ourself as we can without using electronic devices. That's what I think. What do you think?

Alfred:
I think it's just to "be aware". In the teachings that I have with my students, my main focus is for them to be aware of their vibration. Whether their vibration is of humanness or whether their vibration is of Spirit. And if for some reason they notice their vibration is too much, is heavy, is weighty, is a human vibration - is to be aware that whatever they're doing, at that moment, is separating them from who they truly are and separating them from Spirit. And whatever that is, they need to do "less of it". Now, that's not to say, if you're in a spiritual state, you're in a creation state, you're doing automatic writing, you're doing channeling, you're typing on the  computer. Fine, you're keeping a spiritual vibration. It is those times, those actions, those thoughts, that bring you into a human vibration that I suggest you "be aware of". It is because when you're of that human vibration, you can track down "Okay, what it is that I did? What is it that I'm doing that's taking me into that vibration that I no longer desire in my life”?

Hans:
Yes. I think it's reorganizing "important" - spiritual vibration within ourself. It's getting back to our principle.

Alfred:
Yes, exactly. If you're listening to this Show, you're spiritual journey should be important to you.

Hans:
Absolutely. You know Alfred had gotten really righteous on all of this, but I remember when I used to say to him: "Turn the computer off". And the fighting that would go on because I would say: "Turn the computer off". Because he suffers from, like all of us, a slight addictive behavioral issue. When you get into that stuff, it's like saying "put down that cigarette", "put down that drink", so I'm saying "put down the computer".

Alfred:
It is. It is an addictive behavior.

Hans:
And there's a fear from being told that. Have you noticed Alfred?

Alfred:
Yes. It is an addiction. And again, that's a human aspect and that's something to overcome. Just like any other type of addiction. It's: "What is the middle path"? "What is the moderation path"? And I found that completely stopping something cold turkey, such as never taking a drink, is a difficult path. It really is.

Hans:
But you did it.

Alfred:
Yes. But I found a "moderated path". My moderated path is, I allow myself one beer a day.

Hans:
Which you never do.

Alfred:
Which I never even finish my one beer.

Hans:
You never have a beer a day. It doesn't matter whether you finish it...

Alfred:
Yes. I allow myself to have a beer, because I like the taste of beer, but as soon as I even touch on that buzz of alcohol, I stop. And that's the same thing we're asking you to take a look at, everyone else who's listening is: “You can do your email, you can surf the web, but once you feel that lower humanness vibration, once you feel that addictive behavior, once you feel you are searching, we ask you to instead, stop and go spend some quiet time. Go in the other direction. Go reconnect to Spirit, reconnect to nature”. Okay? So there is a way to use the computer, interact with people, in a spiritual way. Just "be aware" of your vibration. Are you doing it as a "soul" or is it dragging you down into your "humanness" away from where we're trying to lead you towards. Towards your spiritual path.

Hans:
It's important folks, for everyone to remember - you're not doing anything "wrong".

Alfred:
No.

Hans:
What we're trying to get you to understand is you may be actually limiting your ability to operate as “a spirit in human form". This is our concern. This is the concern of the Spirit. So don't spank yourself and holler at yourself because you're doing something wrong. No, no, no, no, no. You've been programmed folks. We've all been programmed. I watch Alfred - every time there's a new iPhone off he goes to get a new iPhone. It doesn't cost him anything because he's got some magic that he does...and Apple says: No, you can have this, you can have that”. It's very strange. But there's no need for the new iPhone. The mind says there's a need for the new iPhone, but there really isn't. There's no need... As Spirit once said to me: "Hans, just how fast do you folks need those computers to be”? Remember folks, on the TV...and this one is faster...and faster? You noticed one day that they stopped that. They no longer said "things are faster" because they got to a level where they couldn't make them faster. And that's what I'm trying to say to you. We're being programmed...we're being programmed. We're being programmed into a society that says: "Your worth now can be found on your devices". And Alfred I think that's pretty scary.

Alfred:
Exactly. And here's a good example of what you were talking about recently is:  “You're searching for something”. What we try to tell you in spirituality is: "If you're searching for something, connect spiritually, connect to your Guidance, connect to those souls who love you - your family in Spirit. Let them guide you. Let them show you that which you are seeking”. Okay? Everyone of us, I believe, has a desire to "seek" for "something". And there's two ways. “You can seek it with your humanness” or “you can seek it through spirituality”. We say: "Find it through spiritual search. Find it by going "within", by connecting to your soul, by connecting to the Universe. If you find that - "I feel like searching for something" and you're searching out on the Internet, you're disconnecting yourself from truth, you're disconnecting yourself from your Guidance, you're disconnecting yourself from who you really are". And "searching", I don't want to say in the "wrong direction", we would just say in a direction that is probably not going to lead to what you're looking for.

Hans:
Right. Exactly. And Alfred, where I watch people tend to "disappear"...have you ever noticed that when you're working on the computer Alfred how fast the time goes?

Alfred:
Um hmm. Oh, it floats by.

Hans:
But those are precious moments when you could be feeding the birds. Those are precious moments when you could go for a walk. Now I know everyone out there may be saying: "Hansy, you're too dog-gone simplistic". But remember folks, what Spirit has always taught me - and that truth is simplicity itself. "That nothing you're creating do you keep. Only your contact with your Angels, only your divine purpose, and your divine self. That is all you will leave here with. Nothing else". So everything else you'd become addended to that, not spirituality Alfred, becoming an addendum to modern day electronics.

Alfred:
Yes.

Hans:

Okay? So I hope everyone, that that sort of answered some of the questions. I know my dear friend in Los Angeles, Mr. D... This show was done for you because you are right, we need to look at these things. Now, Mr. D., what I want you to do is send us an email...this man is a technical expert...so send us an email about any questions you may have on this subject.
