Topic: Holding Spiritual Energy for New Beginnings
November 14, 2015

HANS:
Hi everybody. Welcome. Today’s topic is “Holding Spiritual Energy for New Beginnings.” Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been talking about how to navigate out of your old life. How to understand what you don’t want anymore. We had you make a list of what you don’t want, and we asked you to let it go. We talked about how you do that. How do you let go of our trauma and our drama and the appearance of our life? Remember, we talked about how no two things can be in the same place at the same time, so you have to let go in order to receive. We had some really positive emails, and I thank you very much.

Now, last week we talked about putting your stuff that’s the new life you want into that space. Here’s the difficult part about that—it’s called holding the intention. Got that? Holding the intention. In the moment, so many people say, “I’ve got it! I’m going to be changing and I’m clearing my space, and here’s the new things I want to feel the energy of in my new life.” And then they set off on their journey and the phone rings. There’s a phone call from a parent or a friend. The mind starts to get engaged with the old drama, with the old problems. This is really devastating, if you allow it, because the mind is actually trying to take you back to where it was comfortable. Not to the unknown that it’s not certain of and it may not have control over. It wants to return you again to the old life which it knew well. But remember, it was that mind chatter that caused all the pain and suffering in your life. So, this is a time to say, “You know what? My resolve is so strong that I have no intentions of going backwards in order to go forwards.”

So, today is about learning how to hold your intentions. Alfred, you have some mediation exercises about holding your intention, don’t you?

ALFRED:
Many. But let’s talk on a theoretical basis and let you know what happens. When you finally set your intention to move forward, what is left of your ego is going to fight harder for survival. It will start harassing you more. It will speak louder and you will tell us, “I’m doing this right. Why is my mind chatter getting stronger?”

HANS:
And the fear will grow stronger.

ALFRED:
The fear will grow stronger. Your mind chatter will start screaming at you. This is normal.

HANS:
Absolutely normal. Maybe bring a little humor to it.

ALFRED:
Bring a little humor to it. Say, treat it as a spoiled child.

HANS:
There it goes again.

ALFRED:
What happens when you try and take a toy away from a spoiled child? It’s going to scream at you, but you have to be the parent: this is who’s in charge, this is the spoiled child, and be consistent. Eventually, the spoiled child stops kicking and screaming. The worst thing you can do is let it have it’s own way and realize if it kicks and screams, “Oh, that’s how I can get my way.” You have to be consistent.

HANS:
Boy, is that ever the truth! You must be consistent in your intention to change your behavioral patterns. You have to understand, it’s the job of the mind to try to return you to the old way of being. You come in and you talk to your heart and you say, “We must reinforce our resolve. Reinforce our resolve into the new beginning.” The mind is going to pull at you. We like to say about two weeks, if you work on it diligently, then it begins to calm down. But any change to the mind is a threat. So when your heart-mind sets out for a new beginning, you’re really notifying the fear and the mind chatter that it’s no longer necessary. That’s when it goes to war and that’s when it starts throwing its temper tantrums. But remember, just as the parent has control over the child, you have control over the temper tantrum your mind is bringing up. It will flood you with stuff that could happen—you’re going to lose your job, you’re going to get cancer, you’re going to get pneumonia, a car crash. It just throws everything it can at you, and if you just say, “I give you no more space here. I’m in a new resolve for  a peaceful approach to my new life.” You reinforce that every day. “I’m in a peaceful place in my new approach to my new life.” And you just keep reinforcing it and reinforcing it. Then, after a bit, it becomes automatic.

ALFRED:
So in summary, the first topic we’re talking about is being consistent in your resolve. Being consistent in your determination. Being consistent in your intention to go to that place that you don’t know. To go to that place that you don’t understand.

HANS:
You know, Alfred, how many times we say, “My intention is to do this.” And before we know it, without even seeing it, the mind has literally pulled us back into the old behavior. We don’t even see it coming, but it’s sneaky and it’s crafty.

ALFRED:
That’s a good one. So off to our second topic for today: how to help yourself with your resolve. Your mind will come up with various things it’s going to be saying, and there’s a lot of things you can say back to your mind. We call this reprogramming. Giving your mind chatter new things to think about. You need to tell it who’s in charge and what’s really important to you. So when your mind chatter comes and starts telling you, “No, we need to back to the old way,” there’s a lot of things that can help you talk to your mind chatter to let it know who’s in charge.

HANS:
That’s the whole thing. Letting the mind know that you and your heart and your intentions are in charge. It will argue with you. Oftentimes you’ve heard me say it’s like going to war against your own mind, but it really is. Your mind believes it’s defending you from the unknown, but if you soothe the little child inside you—we’ve often talked about getting a picture of yourself as a child and holding that picture to your chest and talking to your inner child, which is terrified of change. Terrified of making a mistake.

Folks, the only mistake you can ever make is not making a choice. One way or the other, neither one of them is a mistake. We deal with what we choose at the moment and we have the consequences in front of us. If we choose wisely the consequences are good. If we don’t choose wisely, all that happens is we go back to the old way we were being and we survive through that—and you will survive through it again. But why go there? So being involved in holding the essence of your truth is key right now. For the lady who sent me the email, “Oh, I’m so afraid of change,” the only thing to be afraid of is not changing. Change is good! Nothing remains the same, folks. Nothing.

ALFRED:
How about the mirror exercise?

HANS:
The mirror exercise is very good. This is a toughie for a lot of you, but it simply goes something like this: When you get out of your shower or bath in the morning, dry off, go up to the mirror, and drop the towel. Oh, that will give you a good shock. Look right into your eyes and say, “I don’t know who you are, but I promise you I’m going to find out. And when I do, I’m going to take very very good care of you. I promise you I’m never going to let anyone hurt you again. You are my best friend and I love you very much.”

That, Alfred, is a toughie.

ALFRED:
It is. Your heart is going to take care of you. Your mind will say we have to control the outcome, but the heart has to say the path going forward is about surrendering, about letting go, going with the flow. You’re going to be talking from your heart to your mind, whatever your human-ness is, you’re coming from who you are, the part of you that is eternal and that will continue after the body dissolves away.

HANS:
We’re all headed in the same direction, folks, toward enlightenment, but we’re all in different cars. Just know that Spirit is holding your intention with you. Always remember that. When it’s bleak and it’s scary and it’s dark, remember, Spirit has you. They’re holding you in your intention. You do the same. Can you imagine the power you can create in your life when you learn to partner with Spirit on your behalf? Endless possibilities.

And that will conclude the lesson for today!

Topic: Gratefulness
May 2, 2015

HANS:
Hello everybody. What a beautiful day! Glad to have you all with us today. And I want to thank everybody for the wonderful emails you've been sending in about how our teachings have helped you to restructure your life to move you into new places of joy and happiness that you didn't know were available. Today's topic is "Gratefulness."

I want to give you a little story today. Many years ago... probably 8 or 9 years ago, I had done a product for Nightingale-Conant called "Stop Searching and Start Living." And after the contract has expired and all that, Alfred thought of what we might be able to do with it. And he said, you know there's a book in this. And so for almost 5 years, on and off, we worked on the book. Alfred actually worked on the book. And he took the talkings and put them into writings... which is very difficult to do folks, believe it or not. And he worked on this over and over and over again. And we hired editors who had no idea... They were spiritual people but they tended to write me out of my own book and it became very painful... and frankly, we gave up for awhile and then we started up again.

All the time "knowing" that somewhere in time was a place for that book and the decades of teachings that I've been blessed to give out. Whenever I would lose track of it, Alfred would reinforce it. Whenever he would lose track of it, I would reinforce it to him. And so it's been a long, long journey. The reason that today we're speaking about "Gratefulness"... If you ever notice how Spirit works on your behalf... you keep looking and looking and searching and looking when it's right underneath your nose. And it's called "Faith." Faith's best friend is Trust. Trust has a "quiet knowing" that everything is as it should be.

Now to be very honest with all of you, I had reached a point with the book where I was tired of excusing it away. Why didn't anybody come forward? Why would the people that we hired that charged money and all that just take the money and do absolutely nothing? What was all of that about? And so it was hard, as time went by, to keep the hope up in that. But we did it nonetheless. As time went by, we were given an opportunity, through a friend of ours, to speak with someone who changed the direction and the course of the book. It's an editor. She could see and hear what we were attempting, and certainly what I was attempting before Alfred came on the scene, to say and to do.

And I was looking for a manual... a how to book in spirituality and mediumship. And just nobody could see it. But she could. And so for over a year, she and Alfred and myself have been working together to create the outlines and to write the chapters... rewrite all the chapters... well the chapters that we had already written anyway. And we were led to meet two people. And those two people are some of the nicest human beings I have ever met in my entire life. They told someone at a major publishing house about me and that person said: Oh, I know about Hans, I know about Hans. We'd like to publish his book. Site unseen as I said that. And today, after a meeting on Sunday last, they sent us an email agreeing to everything that we would like to see happen with the book.

And I called for Alfred to come and read the email with us and it's a firm offer. And I thought: Everything that we had talked about... about what we would like to do with the book is in the offer. Every single thing we could have ever dreamed for or asked for is in the offer. So I'm proud to announce that Simon & Schuster will be publishing my new and first book within the next year. So to all of you I thank you for the wonderful work that you let me do with you. And I look forward to going into the future. This book... We're already looking at another book. We already have a title for that one. So I thank you all and Alfred, how do you feel about this?

ALFRED:
Well one of the reasons we're bringing this topic up under the subject of "Gratefulness" is we literally have been working on this book for 9 years... 9 years. And that has been a really long time. And that is really where Faith and Belief come in to play is to be grateful for the way things are, to be grateful for what you have, to be grateful for the unknown, to be grateful for knowing that the Other Side is working on your behalf, to be grateful by letting go of expectations, by being grateful for letting go of the way you need things to be, to be grateful of the need to know when and how something is going to unfold. That is just "is."

And that's why we're bring up this topic is because Hans and I have dedicated ourselves to being of service. It's been a very long road. We've put an enormous amount of work into it. We just continued to have Faith and Trust in the Universe that this was going to unfold as it was going to unfold, when and how it was going to. And it is incredibly difficult to be grateful for what is in front of you and to release what is coming at you.

HANS:
Yeah. And I'm not going to say for one minute that Alfred and I didn't have to practice our teachings folks. Because we did. And there were moments of disappointment... phone calls that were missed or never arrived. But when something is supposed to be, it simply happens. So what I am the most grateful for is first of all for my Guidance, for Spirit, for God. But I'm grateful for Alfred, I'm grateful for Anita, I'm grateful for John and Rikka... I'm grateful for all the people who came into my life to make this possible. I'm very grateful for Nancy and she knows why. I'm grateful that I have this chance, at my age, to do something that my father made me promise I would do and I'm happy to do that.

But I do want, Alfred, I do want people to know that there was a little struggle every once in awhile.

ALFRED:
Yes. And that's probably the second part of why we decided to choose this topic is anyone, anyone who is in human form will find this a challenge. One of the examples when we start teaching spirituality in business is: Okay. Everybody understands the difference between your glass is half full, your glass is half empty. Well can you be grateful when life is so burdensome and difficult that you think you could be grateful when your glass is 20% full, when your glass is 10% full? Can you be grateful when your glass is 1% full? And that's when...

HANS:
That's a key thing you just said. Gratefulness all the way along. Even if it's just 1%.

ALFRED:
To realize that to transcend this lesson you really need to realize that it's not about the glass, it's not about what you have. It's about who you are and being of service and continuing to be of service. In order to transcend the lesson of your glass is half full, your glass is half empty, you have to realize it doesn't matter what's in the glass. What really matters is your "intent" to be of service and whatever it looks like really doesn't matter. That's not up to you what it looks like.

HANS:
That's nicely put. No, it isn't up to you what it looks like. It's up to you knowing what is best, that Spirit knows what is best for you and for your dharma. Alfred and I have been reminded by one of our members that this show is nearly 5 years old. Now folks, in my wildest imaginings I never would have believed I would have had this little radio show for 5 years. It just didn't come into my consciousness.

So I'm grateful for all of you who help me and remind me of who I am and what it is that I do. By putting your trust and faith in Alfred and I with your very, very personal issues, with your spiritual issues, with your spiritual growth, we are enormously grateful.

Alright Alfred where would you like to now go with this morning? Because this news was important for us to get out and I wanted to do that... let you all know what's going on. We are also leaving, by the way, tomorrow for Asheville. So we will be back there in about a week. We are driving with Bella. Luckily this time I don't have to drive myself out. Alfred's coming with me, we'll share the driving. So again for those of you along Highway 10 if you see us go by, wave. We'll wave back.

ALFRED:
Well I think that's basically it. A lot of times... or should I say a good part of the radio show, we really focus on the basics. And what we're trying to tell you here is an advanced lesson. That the basics would be your glass is half full and to be grateful your glass is half full instead of focusing on your glass is half empty. Okay? That's a very basic spiritual principle.

And what we're trying to tell you here... what we've been living through the past 9 years kicking and screaming the entire way is overcoming the lesson,  transcending the lesson, transcending the lesson that you need "anything" in order to be happy. Transcending the lesson that you need "anything" to be of service. Because it is not what you have that enables your happiness. It is not what you have that enables your ability to be of service. It is simply what is "inside" of you that determines your service, your clarity, your ability to work with the Other Side, your happiness, your bliss, your joy.

We have mentioned many times that happiness and bliss come from the simplest of things. The things that cost no money or maybe $1 to feed bread to ducks...

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
So in this lesson that we're passing on to you is even in the most difficult times, consider transcending the lesson that anything that is happening external to you is an illusion to let go of. There's no reason to judge it, there's no reason to perceive it, there's no reason to have an expectation. Those are all "human." Simply let go, have “faith.” Be grateful for the happiness you have inside. Be grateful for the ability to have this incarnation. Be grateful that the Other Side is working on your behalf in order to transcend the lesson that anything outside of you, including how much is in your glass, really doesn't matter. It's simply a distraction.

HANS:
I think, Alfred, that will conclude the show for today.

Topic: What If Nothing Is Wrong
February 7, 2015

Hans:
Hello everybody. Thank you for being on-board with us today. Today's topic is "What if Nothing is Wrong?" I've noticed with the questions there is this sort of flow of concern that comes with almost every question. And I've addressed this before but I'm going to try to see if I maybe work it a little differently to help you out. Every time you send in a question, I want you to notice the manner in which you send the question. I am always here, along with Spirit, to answer any question, no matter what. Always happy to be so, without having a judgment of where you're coming from or what's going on. But Spirit is taking this opportunity to maybe give us a little lesson on love and acceptance. In other words, knowing that everything is okay. It is only our perceptual mind that is taking an unknown and making it a wrong for us. Making it scary for us.

For instance, someone says: this person isn't responding to me the way I would hope that she would respond to me, can you tell me if she's going to respond to me? Spirit will say, at that point: Now, now. What's the importance? Why do you need this to happen? And why are you making it sound like there's something wrong if she doesn't respond to you? Because in the Spirit they operate out of "exactly's," as I call them. Something either "is" or "it is not." They don't have a gray place, like maybe it could be or maybe it could happen. So right now, what they're trying to help you all to understand is, coming from a basic place of spiritual reality, that nothing is really wrong. And if you want answers to the question, it's just out of curiosity, nothing more. But so many people, when you listen to their questions... Now we have 2 groups of questions that we're going to be answering this week because we were traveling. And so everyone listen to the questions and feel the concern from the individual. If you remove the concern of the situation from you and simply have a quiet knowing, it is what it is and will be what it's going to be. Without having expectation, all the concern, the worry, the fussing, starts to disappear.

I know a lady, who I'm very fond of, who is worried and concerned about every single solitary thing in her life and she does it every waking moment of her life. What if the coffee maker is broken? What if I can't make coffee? What if there's ice on the step and I can't go get my mail? And she starts with this the moment she wakes up. And her life, for someone who is financially as blessed as she is, her life is simply miserable because of the concerns. So her questions are always directed at: is this going to happen, is my mother going to understand what I'm saying, how long do I have to wait for an answer from this company. She just never stops it. And therefore she disturbs her ease. And she's constantly ill.

When you're asking a question, try not to make it sound like your life depends on the answer. Because it really doesn't. And I know about those heart ones, those love questions, I understand those. But sometimes you get questions from individuals who already know the answer to the question but they're asking it anyway. And all of you can see where that comes from. Does he love me? Well now you know the answer to that. Because if he loves you, you know it. Does she want to stay with me? You know the answer to that question also. Because if you're asking it, there is doubt. And if there is doubt there is a problem. You see?

So the way our world operates is in a constant flux of survival. This constant flux of: will I get this job, is this going to happen, is that going to happen, does my partner love me, are my kids going to be okay... It's a non-stop flow of fear and uncertainty. So I want everyone to start going back to a quiet, simple place. So I think a good place, Alfred, for everyone to start and graduating to that peaceful place is for them to listen to "You Are Enough."

Alfred:
Yes. A lot of it has to do with you understanding that you don't need anything. Everything that you need is available to you in the moment.

Hans:
Yes, you already have it.

Alfred:
And it is through things like worrying that you separate yourself from that which you have and place yourself into a place of limitation, a humanness place, a place of suffering, pain, by worrying about it, by trying to find that which is already available to you. By focusing on the You Are Already Enough and everything you need is available to you if you simply have faith, have trust, believe in what we're telling you, then all of a sudden that which you're looking for will appear.

Hans:
Yes. So asking questions to clarify things that you already know is you trying to change the outcome of what you already know to make it what you would like to see and hear. That doesn't work well. You know, you can fit a square peg in a round hole if you shave the peg to make it fit. But does that mean that's supposed to be in that hole? A whole other thing entirely. So what I want all of you to understand is that you have a resource here with Alfred and I that can basically change the outlook of your life. And when you change the outlook of your life, you change the direction of your life. You see? So when we say: What if you woke up tomorrow morning and found out that nothing was wrong? It's really hard to wrap your head around that. When I first said that to Alfred he said you're full of prunes. So the more he worked on that, the easier it got. Yes, Alfred?

Alfred:
And it is something that can be worked on. It is part of the inner work. It really is removing those aspects of you that think you have to be in control, that you have to protect yourself, that the outcome is up to you, you get what you negotiate. It's by removing the things that protect you by focusing on your goals. All of these things were beat into us. We all know what they are. And it is through the inner work, by removing them piece by piece, brick by brick, that you're much more able to be in the moment. To understand that there's nothing more important than to be connected with universe, to be in-sync with your Guidance, to just simply be in bliss and listen to what the Other Side has to tell you. Even if they tell you: Everything's fine, everything's okay. Your job is to "not to understand," to just have faith that what they're telling you is the truth. By questioning, by trying to understand, you separate yourself from that which you're trying to get. If that makes any sense at all.

Hans:
It makes sense. Thank you. Try to write that down will you?

Alfred:
Yes.

Hans:
What I've noticed throughout the years we've been on the radio with you is that questions from a lot of people come in to us from a place of fear, a place of doubt, a place of unknowing. When if we could teach you to simply know that there wasn't anything wrong. Only our perception of what is going on. That's what's telling us. Our perception is telling us something is wrong. You see? So just look at this as a new way of being, a new way of learning for this new year. Okay? That this is a time now when everyone can start to let in all the light, all the hope, all the joy that is theirs, without having that filter of fear. That filter that says: Well this could happen, or that could happen, or what if this doesn't happen, how will it affect that? And we build up this scenario of fear and doubt.

And sometimes when things happen to us that appear bad, well it's actually a blessing in disguise. And if we knew that in advance, we would be able to say: Well, that's the way it was supposed to be so I'm good with that, I'm on the right track. Now your mind chatter's going to come in and is going to tell you a whole new story. Like if you break up with someone, for instance. You'll going to run all of this stuff by about what you might or could have said better, what they could have said, or why didn't this work. Be grateful in the moment, bless the relationship, bless that person who has been with you, wish them well, no guilt, and move on. Because the best is yet to be.

Topic:  Fear
January 23, 2015

Hans:
Hello everybody, welcome, welcome, welcome. Our topic today is "Fear." You know, my friends, over the years we've dealt with fear in many different ways. But I've been getting a lot of emails and phone calls lately, people saying "is this going to happen, is this true?" A gentleman who I love and been part of our work for a long time called me and said I just heard someone say that the... I won't name the party but you'll just use your imagination. One of the political parties now said it's time to cut Social Security. He says I get my first check next month. He said am I going to be able to get that check? This fear that's out there now is an opportunity for all of you to practice what Alfred and I have been teaching you lo these many years. For me, a lot longer than Alfred's been alive. And fear is not real. Fear is an emotional place within you.

Remember when we did that show... oh, I don't know... 2 or 3 months ago and we did it from Mexico and it was entitled "Fear and Doubt Can Only Live in the House You Build." Some of you have seem to have gotten away from that reality. And I've noticed that in some of the questions over the last couple of months you can hear the fear that's creeping in. I want to say to all of you that says to yourself that you have a deliberate intention, an intention, to allow the fear in. Fear again can only live in the house that you build. And remember fear is its own food. It keeps reproducing itself over and over and over and each time fear reproduces itself it gets just a little larger and it sort of sticks itself deep into your soul. The only thing that we have to fear is fear itself, as Mr. Roosevelt said back in 1941.
But that is the essence of truth because fear is a manufactured product of your own consciousness. And you do things in a conscious mind that you would simply never do when you get into fear.

People have strange fears about... I'll give you one that you all heard me talk about - Ebola - and Spirit said to you: It's irrational. There's 7 billion people on the planet, 300 of them have Ebola. One person came to the United States with Ebola. We have 315 million people in the country...One. But the headlines were filled with Ebola this and one party's blaming the other party, it's a pandemic, it's going to sweep Europe and all... nonsense. And we told you nonsense at the time. And before that it was Putin and the Ukraine, and it was taking over the Crimea and Russia's coming to occupy Europe, and why isn't the United States going to war to protect... all this. Fear, fear, fear. And we have one group of people in this country who thrive, who literally thrive, on the possibility of fear. And many of these people think they're good, well-intentioned Christian people. But if they were, they wouldn't have the judgment, and they wouldn't have the fear either.

We have locked ourself into – in this country – into a fear based lifestyle. A fear if we don't get this education we won't be able to get a good job. Fear. If I want to make my dreams come true I need to leave what I'm doing and pursue them. Fear being: Well, what if I fail? What if that doesn't work? What if I'm doing the wrong thing? Never thinking that at that moment that fear is opportunity knocking. Opportunity knocking. Opportunity saying: Wait a minute, this is all made up. You don't have to do this. You are a unique example of God in human form. There are no limitations with the Godforce, I am not making that up. The same God that got me this far will get me to my destination, or my next part of my journey. But the whole country... turn on the TV's sometimes folks and go just to two channels - MSNBC and FOX. The difference between those two channels is so shocking to me. I'm not going to say one is better than the other. I'm talking about the message, people. The message. The things that people say. Remember back when during this current Administration all those predictions of the collapse of the United States, immigrants were going to take over the country, the economy was going to fail, everybody would loose their savings, there would be riots in the streets... I heard all of that. And suddenly out of nowhere - oh, well the economy is better - oh, well we are working on the middle class - oh, well no it wasn't quite as bad as we thought - oh, Ebola didn't sweep the nation. FEAR. Fear of an unknown.

Some years ago I was talking to you about fear and Spirit said to me, while I'm talking to all of you, They said: Well, explain something to me Hans. And this was one of my main Guides. And I said: What? He said: What can you be afraid of what you don't know if you don't know it? Think about it, folks. How can you be afraid of what you don't know if you don't know it? Because your mind always puts a dragon in the unknown. That's why. And when you do that you say to God I don't believe that you're there for me. You say to Spirit I don't trust that you're there for me. And somehow you manage to negotiate the freeways, and the restaurants, and getting kids to school, and the snowstorms... Somehow you manage to get from Point A to Point B.

I have a client that I've had for many, many, many years and he has to fly continuously around the world. And we're sitting doing a session in San Francisco once and he said: Hans, I find it so hard to believe. I said: How many miles did you fly last year? Well, he says: Well in excess of 200,000. I said: And you don't believe? And he thought for a moment. I said: How many plane flights did you take? He said: I can't calculate it. And I said: And you don't believe? You get in a cigar tin can and fly 38,000 feet in the air, through the atmosphere, you've taken how many flights, taken off, landed, and you're still here and you don't believe? Somewhere in you, you believe enough in the universe to allow yourself to get on that plane even though you know there's a possibility that plane could fall down. But you believe somewhere or you wouldn't get on the plane. So sometimes when we're busy thinking of what bad could happen to us we forget all the good that has happened and already is happening to us in this moment.

Have you noticed, children that fear is always about something that "might" happen? Might happen. This could happen, that could happen. And when you start down that path you become a victim of fear. Not a nice thing to say, I understand that. But you become a victim of fear. And as you become a victim of fear, it keeps feeding itself and reproducing itself and one day you wake up at 2:00 in the morning, 5:00 in the morning, and you're in a cold sweat because fear has even entered into your sleeping form causing you nightmares. So you have an opportunity in life to say: I choose to not live in fear and I choose that my God loves me so and will take care of me. I have nothing to fear but being afraid myself and doing this to myself because I'm perfect in my God's eyes and I'm taken care of. You have that choice. You can make that choice. You can say: I'm enough not to be afraid. All that I need, all that I desire is in front of me. I'm the only one that's blocking it. Okay? So there's no written agreement with you in your contract that says you are to be and remain in fear. That is all self induced and man-made.

The other day I heard something on the television that was shocking. They said in the 50 years that airliners have been flying to Hawaii from the West Coast, we're talking about hundreds of thousands of flights, we've never lost one. But the fear generated at the possibility is huge. Fear is something that you can control or it can control you. You have to decide which it is. When I was a very young man, for a very short period of time, I was afraid to be in crowds, I was afraid to be in the public. Because what I didn't realize was that I was clairsentient. Nobody told me. And I found out I was clairsentient so I was actually picking up sort of vibrations from peoples and crowds and many of you have had this feeling and I just wouldn't go because it was too scary. And people used to say he wouldn't go into a room where there were more than six people in it. And that was pretty much the truth. Now I go into a room with 1,000 people. It's perfectly fine. Because I've learned that my fears were irrational. There was no truth.

Have you ever noticed something that we do kids, have you ever noticed that if we're afraid of something we'll try to defend why we're afraid of it? With no rational real reason but we'll make one up? And here's a big one - well, it "could happen." It could happen. Yes, it could happen. But it's not going to. So why do we need for it to happen? By believing it is going to happen or it might happen. Why do we do that? Why don't we just say: I'm not afraid and I refuse to defend the fear that I have. I choose this day to be happy. I choose to be light. I choose to be love. If you don't have $5 to your name, you can say that. You can open that door. And when you open that door, everything begins to change, everything. Because the essence of God that flows through you has no fear. The essence of Spirit, which is your strength, has no fear. Remember what we always teach you - You cannot shine the dark in the light. The light will always prevail, in every situation. There are dark moments that humans put us into, out of our control - wars and what have you. But we can rise above that. We can rise above that.

Somebody asked me the other day what I thought of the movie "American Sniper." Now folks, I'm not going to get into that today. But it's a real good reminder why war is insanity in motion. Pure, unadulterated insanity, pointless, no reason. Why, why? I watched some people being interviewed and they said these words: Well, we have to have those people because the other ones are coming to get us. No. No one's coming to get us. We don't need snipers to defend ourself. We never have. We never will. Okay? So what I want you all to do today is to sit down and look at your Fear Book. Look and see where you are. Look and see are you allowing any fear, doubt, worry, or concerns to interfere with the flow of your life, the beauty. Remember something, oftentimes the humblest of people we know, the humblest of people we meet, are some of the happiest people we'll ever experience. Always. Because they know that their God loves them. Hands down, I've said this for years, some of the happiest people I've ever met in Mexico, of the poorest of citizens on the beach on a Sunday, the love, the family. They don't have any money but they've got a 6-pack and they've got food they can make and BBQ and the kids got a little pool to play in... They have a ball but they have no money to speak of compared to what we are used to seeing.

And I'll never forget that ride I had to the airport... the taxi driver. And he said to me: Can I ask you a question? I said: Certainly. He says: Why are Americans so afraid? Why? He said: They act as though something's coming to get them. I had to reach for an answer. But the real answer is because that's what we're taught - that something's coming to get us. Nothing, folks, is coming to get you. Get on with your life. Take the principles that Alfred and I have tried to teach you. Alfred, a little something from you on this subject.

Alfred:
The question is why is fear so important? Why is dealing with fear so important? It's because if you are fearful of doing things, you're not going to follow the advice of your Guidance. If your Guidance says, for example, here is this magnificent opportunity, we know that you have it in you to follow through with this opportunity, here it is, we're giving it to you, this is what you've asked to experience. If you're fearful, you're not going to follow through with that opportunity that you asked for and that your Guidance has provided you. Fear is going to keep you from the life you asked to experience. It's going to keep you from your abundance. It'll keep you from your happiness. I couldn't imagine a crazier life if the Other Side is working on your behalf and you say: No. That's a reason why fear is really important to deal with.

Hans:
Yes, to learn from. But have you ever noticed Alfred, that when you try to take fear away from someone they fight to bring it back?

Alfred:
Well, it's as I heard a long time ago from a couple of people I thought I respected and they said and: Well it's the devil you know or the devil you don't know. And I looked at them and said: You know you're holding onto a devil because you don't know what else there could possibly be?

(Hans Laughing)

Hans:
Yeah, it doesn't even make any sense. Honest to goodness, it doesn't.

Alfred:
Wait.

Hans:
Hello. Wait a minute here.

Alfred:
Isn't it welcoming the thing that you don't know because it's a thing that you know that's getting you into trouble and maybe by surrendering what you know and asking the Other Side for help...

Hans:
If you surrender Alfred, you'd be out of control.

Alfred:
Exactly!

Hans:
There's some fear attached to that one.

Alfred:
Yes. Being out of control so you can control the devil you know and keep what you have. Yeah, life as a human. So what we try to do is teach you to live as Spirit. Spirit is all about surrendering. Spirit is all about trust, faith and belief that what is coming for you is for your highest good. That is the way of Spirit. Fear is the way of humanness.

Hans:
Yes, absolutely. I think Alfred, that will conclude the lesson. I don't want to appear as beating them over the head.

Hans:
Hello everybody and welcome to the show. It's with great laughter in my heart that we picked this topic. "We" being Spirit and I. Actually Alfred and I were in Lowes, and Spirit said to me this morning: I want you to talk about the value of "nothing". And Alfred looked at me and he said: What? I said: That's what they say - a show about “nothing”. I said: Yes, a show about “nothing”. And it reminded me of when Jerry Seinfeld decided to do a show about “nothing” for NBC. It's kind of on that vein.

Do you know how much power there is, children, in "nothing"? Think about it a minute. If there's nothing going on, if you bring yourself to a loving safe place of nothingness, quietness... Not full of what happened yesterday...disappointment that somebody didn't call you...You know, I wonder if they're going to call me, I wonder if my mother's still mad at me, I wonder whether or not my boss likes me... What if there's "nothing" in that space?

You know when I do my readings, and I think for those of you who have been with us a long time know this little story. But when I teach you, the classes or I do readings for people, I kind of draw and doodle on a legal pad. And when I get to a certain point in the class or in the reading, I turn the page over and at first I say: Would you rather have this page, which their life has been written on this page here, or I say: Or would you rather have this page? And I show them the next page which is blank. Over 75% - 78% of the people will choose the page that's already written on.

The value in the "unknown" is enormous. The value in "nothingness" is enormous. But our mind chatter tells us there must always be “something” in the space of “nothing”. Because if there's “nothing” in the space of “nothing”, something could be wrong, something might go wrong. What if nothing ever comes in to the nothing space...what if? A show about "nothing"...a class. If you sit in a class and the teacher says: This class is about "nothing" today, the mind chatter that starts to run in that class is deafening.

If I say to a client when doing work with them: You need a space of "nothingness", most clients think that's strange, and most clients think that something bad could happen to them without being in control of the "nothing" space. So we have been taught, throughout our life, that there has to be something running through our mind at all times.

Alfred, you know of this through your teaching. What have you found?

Alfred:
I found that one of the most amazing spiritual paths is through "nothing". And it's the basis of meditation, it's the purpose of meditation actually, is to get to a point of "nothingness". And what we do through Hans' Intuitive Development Class and my Automatic Writing and Advanced Channeling Class is to take you beyond "nothing". To use the basis of "nothing" as a point where you can go far beyond what you could ever possibly comprehend. Now what does that mean? "Nothing" means there's no humanness or as little humanness as possible.

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
And that's what we're talking about. I'm sure Hans is going to bring up the "mind chatter" and the purpose of not having mind chatter.

Hans:
Which is the opposite of having mind chatter is nothingness.

Alfred:
Exactly. And that's what we're talking about here is "nothing" is actually a spiritual path. Because through "nothing" you're actually disconnecting through everything human. With not having anything human, you've got "nothing".

Hans:
Thank you Alfred. Doesn't it sound funny? What are you going to do today? Nothing. Well certainly you have to do something because you have time. So you must do something. No, I think I will do "nothing". I think I will just "be". Well what does that mean? Aah, there goes the mind chatter again. It doesn't matter what it will be, it simply is. This sounds a little bit like a round-about but what I want you to understand is "perfection in human form is nothingness". In other words, being "in" the world but not "of" it.

While Alfred was taking his welding class, I happened to turn on the news, and I had sworn off the news a year and a half ago. And living in Mexico for as long as I have, we don't get American news except for CNN and then it's the International CNN. And I turned this on and I heard all of these people spreading all of these rumors about Ebola. One person, from Africa, stopping off in Texas brought the virus with them, unknown to them. Passed the health test before they left Africa. And that has grown from 1 person infected, out of 335 million people, into a plague on the United States is about to happen. Shame on the President for not knowing this...and oh, he said it wouldn't be a plague... It's not, it's 1 person. It could be as many as 20 "if" all the people that person came in touch with got the virus. At that point, Guidance says to me: “Nothing”. Got it, turned it right off.

Went to the Discovery Channel and just sat for a moment looking at some glaciers that were melting and trout that were coming up a stream. Nothing going through my mind...nothing. Have you ever sat in the park, and let's say the park is very empty, very quiet, and you see a squirrel coming along looking under leaves, looking for where he may have buried one of the nuts from this season's crop...but nothing else was going on in your mind just watching the squirrel. You ever heard of that adage: I lost track of time. Isn't that wonderful? Alfred, would you like to comment on that?

Alfred:
It's through "nothing" that you can find happiness, joy, bliss... It's why when you go out into nature and you stop thinking about human things - work, stress, what you have to do - that you're happy. That you actually can connect to God and Spirit better when you're in nature. Because you go to a state, or as much as possible, a state of "nothingness" releasing humanness. That's why when you sit there and think of nothing and watch the squirrel try to dig up a nut, you're in bliss. You're thinking that doesn't make any sense.

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
Exactly. It's not supposed to make sense. If it makes sense, you're thinking back to humanness which goes back to stress. We don't want that. We're telling you, if you're looking for happiness and bliss and God and Spirit and the Universe and Oneness, start at "nothing".

Hans:
It already "is". You've often heard me tell the story of the Buddha and the dandelion. And looking and the dandelion and looking at it and he doesn't say anything. And finally one of the devotees says to him: Gurudev, we fail to understand the value in this lesson. And he takes the dandelion flower and he points it to the group of people and he says: That it is is sufficient. It doesn't need to be explained. It was a metaphor. For when something "is", a tree "is", the squirrel "is" - it doesn't need to be analyzed because it's already bliss. It's simplicity itself. Truth is simplicity itself. But the more you try to "understand", the more you confuse the bliss of your moment.

I have a friend who still is my friend but he's now in Spirit. And he used to say when he came upon something that was rather large, he would just turn to his internal child and say: Well here's something interesting. Let's see if we can play with this today. No matter how negative something may appear...because what he had learned of his 83 years, what he had learned was: Nothing is as it appears to be. Everything is an illusion that we or someone else has created. You see folks?

So when you finally get that "nothingness", being peaceful... I have a lady that I know who goes whenever she can...she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and whenever she can she goes up to one of the Reservations, and one of them has this beautiful little stream, and she's found this wonderful rock to sit on. And she goes and she takes a little cushion, and she sits on the rock and she just does nothing but sits there. No thinking, no reading a book, just "be in the moment". And she's done this for a very, very long time...over 40 years. You too can learn the value of "nothing".

If I have a pitcher and I want to spoon out water, okay? At some point, I will run out of water. When you refill the water pitcher, you're saying: I trust. So in that moment you're not asking yourself why you're filling the watcher pitcher, what is  all that about... In the moment you're going to refill the water pitcher and it's automatic. When you breathe, you're not saying: Gee, I wonder if there will be another breath. Nothing. Sitting in a place of "nothing", there is peace. Our minds are so constructed to think that there's something wrong with silence. We, and this is part of the book that's coming out for us that I'm currently doing, we have been programmed to go from one subject in life to another. And in the process of doing that we tend to validate the current pain by a pain from the past. Rather than say: I have had a wonderful life up until now. I choose to just "be" for a little bit. I'm not going to be fearful, I'm not going to be angry, I'm not going to wonder, I'm simply going to sit and "be". You see?

Alfred, any comments?

Alfred:
What we're trying to get at is through the search for something, the search for knowledge, the attempt to understand, the attempt to think things through - you're actually disconnecting yourself from Spirit, from God, from the Universe. You're actually in limitation because you're focusing on using your human self, whatever that "something" is, in order to get through life. And what we're trying to tell you is if you're looking for your connection to God, if you're looking for your connection to Spirit, it is through the letting go process in an attempt to get to "nothing" that  you'll find clarity, you'll release the limitation. And it is through the release of the limitation that you can be who you truly are. You're not piling anything on top of your perfect soul that already has everything it already needs. You're not piling on limitation to yourself. It is through the "nothing" that you'll find clarity.

Hans:
Thank you Alfred. You know we are taught throughout our lives, and you know this is one of my pet peeves, we are taught throughout our life to be somebody. We can be somebody. This makes the Spirit World insane. They didn't send nothing people here. No nothingness came here. You already were. You are someone and you're resonating in that moment because that moment is where you are supposed to be. And when children get fractured, and adults get fractured, is when others keep reminding them that they're not enough, reminding them that they should try harder, reminding them they should do better. That gets locked into that child's soul and never goes away. And they keep trying harder and trying harder. And I want all of you who are thinking: Yes, but isn't that good? Nnnooooo. Because it's taking you away from the essence of who you are. Find out who you are and see what you would like to have the experience of in life. That's what we should be teaching our children. Oh yes, they need to know their ABC's and math and all of that. I understand that.

But the greatness of the soul does not lie in what it does. The greatness of the soul is in who it is. And in that is a place of quiet knowing which is "nothing". What if you found out today there was no place you needed to go, nothing you needed to accomplish, that just who you are in this moment is enough for God, you see? Nothing. And once you find a safe place in "nothing", everything in your life will change. Everything. Yes, there are human things that come up again. Because we put them in motion. Our parents, our grandparents, our employers, our employees, have put these, what they perceive to be deeds, in motion.

I was talking with Alfred the other morning at breakfast and we were just talking about how he got to where there was a shift. And he said to me: You know, it was like an internal voice that came out of my chest that was telling me something but I wasn't paying attention. Alfred, you tell the story please.

Alfred:
Hans, that's the story of when I left my career in Banking. There was just some internal voice inside my chest that said: Okay, you've had enough of this time to leave your job and do something meaningful. And I said: Who are you and what's meaningful? Well, a year later, after its still yelling at me and raising its voice saying you have to quit what you're doing and leave and just go back to California and we'll explain it to you later. Finally I got to the point of stopping arguing. I just resigned and left and came back to the U.S.

So what's the point of all of this? If you want to be led by Spirit, if you want to receive Guidance, if you want to follow your path, sometimes you need to l”et go”  of what you're holding onto no matter how important, how successful, that you think it is in order to allow Spirit to enter your life. Sometimes you have to go to "nothing" and we really go over this in great detail in our Video Class, The Void. I think it's about 6 hours of the "good" that can come from when things are taken or when you release them from you.

Hans:
So what I want everyone to really get from today's show is having the appearance of "nothing" is a huge step towards your spiritual growth. Very quietly buried in the "nothing" is a trust. You're actually saying I trust that even though I'm not orchestrating my life at this moment and I choose to simply be quiet and be peaceful, I know Spirit and God have my back. You see? That's what they see. They see: Ah, she believes. Ah, he gets it.

Remember that old adage that says: When you finally get it, when you finally see it, when you finally hear it, doors appear where previously there were no doors. The reason was you were standing in front of the door and thought it was a wall. You didn't know it was a door. "Nothingness" allows you to see a blank page as beautiful.

When a painter looks at a blank canvas, they envision something in the "nothing" and they create that. But they're not forced to. That comes from a place of quiet knowing and quiet trust, that I know out of "nothing" will come what I need to hear, will come what I need to know and will teach me. I know that. So when you turn loose of what you perceive is important, Spirit presents another door and I can't tell you the thousands of people through these many, many years in service who have said to me later: It all happened when I let go. I was holding on to something because I thought that was what my safety was. I didn't believe that Spirit, God would take care of me.

For many people, Alfred, going to a place of "nothing" is extremely fearful. Because for all they say that they believe, for all they work at believing, inside of them, they're still trying to control the outcome of the "nothing".

Did you ever have that experience?

Alfred:
That's a really good point Hans and as you've seen over the many years for those who have been following us, a huge part of the path of spirituality is merely a perception change. What the brain has been taught, especially in western civilization is that more is better, gathering is good. It's security. You can be a better person by getting more, whatever more is. And what we're trying to tell you in terms of changing your perception is that if you wish to lead a spiritual life, “nothing and less are better”. And we're saying not just "less" is better, but "nothing" is actually much, much, much better.

Because that means you've gotten to a point where you've released so much that you're in clarity, you just "are". I just "am". You have no judgments, no opinions. You're in a constant state, or as much as possible, a constant state of meditation, of connection with Source Energy, your vibration stays high as much as possible.

So in this perception change that we're asking you, you really need to look at and say: what do I value more? Am I a human that occasionally has spiritual experiences or am I a spirit, a soul, that happens to have some human experiences? And if your focus is being a soul, then we're telling you look at changing your perception that "less" or even "nothing" is a spiritual path.

Hans:
Very good, Alfred. You know my friends, one of the great things that Alfred brought to my practice was a simple statement that I had, for many years known about but hadn't incorporated it into my teaching. Now, let me backtrack here. People say well how can we go someplace and do someplace if we live in "nothingness". That's not what Spirit is saying. If you believe, and you say to them: In my life ahead I would like the feeling of... And let it go - whatever it is. And you go back to "nothingness" because you believe at that point that Spirit heard you. You believe they're going to organize. When you say to Spirit: In my new life I would like the feeling...I would like to feel so and so... That's something you can do. That's something you can tell them that you want. You can also tell them you would like the experience of whatever you want. But before you get to that place, you have to first believe. And the belief comes through "nothingness", getting to a place where you stop the control of all that's going on and are hurt by all that's going on. Okay?

Alfred, anything more on this subject today from you?

Alfred:
What we're trying to tell you about is the huge, immense value of "nothing". And again this is a massive perception shift compared to what most of us have gotten beaten into us that acquiring stuff is better. What we're trying to tell you is acquiring stuff, thinking about stuff, trying to make yourself better in the western way may take you away in an opposite direction if you wish to lead a spiritual life. All of Hans' harping over the many years about mind chatter is all about releasing, letting go, and every single spiritual methodology that there is, everyone will always talk about surrendering, trust, belief. And it is through the of letting go, and getting to a state of "nothing" that you could have true meditative experiences, that you could have true bliss, true joy in your life, and that's what we're trying to tell you is the value, spiritually speaking, of "nothing".

Hans:

Yes. Alright, Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for the day. And I thank you for your wonderful input. I thank all of you for being patient. What I want you all to do is listen to this show several times, and I want you to write down bits and pieces from it that you think affect you and what you'd like to look on. Okay?
