Topic: “Possibilities of the Holidays
December 20, 2015

HANS:
This is the time of year—and over the last three or four weeks we’ve been talking about letting go of old things, building a new place for new things, trusting—this is a great time for what I like to call spiritual renewal. Because what’s really happening is, I look out my window and all my green trees are now brown and gray, and yet because of that, there’s more light coming into the house. You see?

And so, there’s all these possibilities when we look at things and we think they’re a certain way, that doesn’t mean they’re that way. When you start to set yourself with the intention of, “I wonder what next year is going to bring? I wonder what these holidays will bring?”

The holidays should bring you back to you. Give yourself a hug. Give yourself a gift. We went to see a movie the other night called “The Intern.” I couldn’t recommend it more. Wonderful, fun, kind, spiritual movie. Go along and see it. Little things that you could do for yourself during the holidays makes the Spirit smile. Sometimes we find ourselves alone, in the appearance of being alone, during the holidays. What are the possibilities in that? Getting to know yourself a little better. Sleeping in a little longer. Doing something for yourself. Calling an old friend. Emailing someone can bring a smile on their face. There’s all kinds of wonderful things you can do.

Alfred and I tried to go see “Star Wars,” and we got caught up in the traffic, and there was no way in the world—Alfred even bought the tickets online—we could even get near the theatre. Everybody in the mall going last minute shopping. That’s not what the holidays are about. The holidays are about reflection. Remember I was telling Alfred about the Christmas’s past I was so thrilled to have been part of. All of those people are gone now, but oh my goodness, it brings a smile to my face to remember the decorations, and now in this time, I have new friends. Alfred and I are speaking to people. Alfred is doing a bunch of stuff online with people he hasn’t seen in twenty years. There’s tons of possibilities at this time of the year. Then when we turn our little heads from what was, was is, to what’s going to be, we look at the vast 2016 landscape and there’s nothing there. Isn’t that wonderful? Because at the holiday time, the Spirit gives you the tools for the new beginning. You know that, don’t you, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Spirit gives you the tools for the new beginning during the holiday times.

HANS:
Always.

ALFRED:
Well, the last couple of shows we’ve been talking about letting go and making space, and that’s what’s most important. The truth is the energy for possibilities is always there. What we’re saying is, this is a wonderful time to make space for those possibilities, to let go of things, so you have room, you’re available for what could come to you. You’re not in control, holding on to the thing disconnecting yourself from your possibilities, so for the last few weeks we’ve been talking about letting go, clearing, making space. The holidays and the end of the year are a good time so that you can start your new beginnings.

HANS:
You remember, kids, the early years of this show, and I used to talk about your chalkboard is how you act out your life and at a certain point you’ve written so much on the chalkboard that there’s really no more room to write anything new. No room to talk about possibilities, it’s done. And remember we talked about the void and I said the void is a time Spirit uses to erase your chalkboard. You flail and kick and moan and groan, the same thing you did at school when the teacher started to erase it, and you hadn’t copied everything yet. Well, that’s what Spirit does during the holidays for so many of us. They begin to erase the chalkboard. But remember what Spirit said to you, They always give you new chalks. Many colored chalks, which are possibilities. So when the board is erased and you think you’re at the end and there’s nothing you can look forward to and you’re sitting there wondering, “What’s going to happen now? I don’t like my job,” or “I don’t have a job, I don’t have a partner, I don’t like the partner I’m with. What’s going to happen for me?” Spirit is listening. And They’re saying, “Remember the chalks.”

So for all of you, when you turn and you look at the empty space, or the void of your existence, that’s the time when you should party. When you should go out, enjoy yourself. Say, “I don’t know what’s coming up, but I know my God loves me, Spirit loves, is giving me new chalks, and next year I can’t wait to see the end of the year to see what’s happened.” That’s what you all should be doing.

ALFRED:
I saw a little hint one time that said, every time something really good happens to you, write it down on a piece paper and put it into a jar and at the end of the year read all those little pieces of paper so that you can remember all the goodness that happened to you throughout the year.

HANS:
Do you remember some years ago when Oprah had that grateful thing on her show and she asked us to everyday write down one thing you were grateful for that day, and then at the end of the year you’ll have three hundred and something things you were grateful for. And go back and read those. We forget the good that happens in the year. We only concentrate on what we perceived is the bad and what we perceived didn’t happen.

ALFRED:
And that’s tough. A lot of us fall into that human-ness of thinking about what you don’t have, instead of remembering that your glass is half full.

HANS:
Always.

ALFRED:
Put your energy toward the positive.

HANS:
You know as you grow older, what you learn is that the only value in life is love. Nothing else holds any value, the rest is ego. What didn’t happen, who didn’t show up, it’s all ego.

The truth of the matter is, we are these baby angels having a human experience. You hear me talk about it all the time, and if we have a demon, if we have a devil, it is our own mind chatter. And our mind chatter continues to get in our way year after year after year, and reminds us of all the things we didn’t get, what didn’t happen, “Oh and this could happen or that could happen. I didn’t like doing this,” or “I didn’t like doing that.” We all forget we made it. We got here, by hook or by crook, but we got here.

Next year, I think we’ll be going in our sixth year of doing the show, next April, and when we started this, we had, I think, eight people. Now we’re all over the world. So just to help you out here, folks, remember when you can’t see anything, hear anything, feel anything, you’re perfect at that moment. Because that’s the moment Spirit is using to re-define your energy. To pull together the things you’re hoping you can experience.

Remember always, the first seven days of January, sets the intention for the year. Everybody listening? Hello? First seven days. Make a list of what you would like to experience in the coming year. Not what you want children, what you would like to experience, it’s two different things. Put that in an envelope, put the date on it, put your name on it and put it in a drawer. Next January, have a look-see. See how much of that has come true.

The reason I ask you to do this is going back to our teachings about setting your intentions. Energy following thought. When you understand that you’ve set your intention, then you can have a quiet expectation that Spirit already heard that. They’ll take care of it. Don’t worry. Be happy.

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: The Wonder of Choice
December 12, 2015

HANS:
For many people the only choice they have each day is how to find food. How to find shelter. It’s not about whether they will eat, it’s whether will they be able to. We are born in this country into a society of plenty and we have all kinds of situations here to help everybody at different levels. I don’t think a lot of people  understand how many safety nets there are in the United States. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but we have so many safety nets to help our people to get through.

This time of the year, do something for you. Everybody’s out wrapping presents. I said to Alfred yesterday, the traffic here in Asheville is crazy. It’s the most I’ve ever seen. I realized, oh, everybody’s running to get Christmas presents and visit with friends, and that’s wonderful, but let’s have a choice that says, “I’m going to give myself peace. I’ve decided I’m going to give myself peace.”

ALFRED:
A lot of the things we cover in the abundance course is understanding that you’re in limitation if your abundance is defined by money. You can have the abundance of love, the abundance of joy, the abundance of happiness, the abundance of peace. Notice how spiritual those words are. They’re in sync with the universal energy, in sync with the universal flow. Now say, “My abundance is money.” That just sounds like it’s limitation.

So when you’re thinking of ways to pamper yourself and choices that you have, think about what is in the flow, what is real. If you’re thinking in physical terms, you’re in limitation. If you’re thinking of what is truth, where you’re going, where you came from, you’re thinking of things that are in flow with universal energy.

HANS:
Absolutely. And you know, today I’m going to be sitting outside on my porch, in my rocker, and if anybody would have told me back in the days, when I was born in Los Angeles that I’d be sitting on the side of a mountain in a rocker on the front porch in the mountains, I would have thought, “Oh, well you need some help!”

But the peace and the joy of being able to do that is absolutely wonderful. Listening to the birds. Bella likes to come out and sit.

You have choices. Give yourself the gift of choice. Don’t get caught up, children, in the appearance of lack. Of scarcity. Of fear. Of doubt. Don’t do that. Find something, anything, that makes you smile. For those of you who have computers, you can go on the internet and there’s just a ton of things you can do. I recommend for instance, you can go and watch the H.M.S Ocean. Mariah Carey’s Christmas song, and watch the whole crew, boys and girls, mime the whole song. It’s wonderful! Free. You can go and listen to music, for free.

You have an abundance of gifts here, let’s not focus on political candidates saying stupid things. Let’s not focus on the pundits. Remember, all those pundits that they pay all that money to for about what might happen. Isn’t that right, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Yes, and you have two choices when you’re looking at how you’re going to feel about things. Are you worrying about what might, could possibly happen in the future, or are you reflecting upon being in the moment, being in the now, as a basis of spiritual principles? If you want to find peace, joy and happiness, it’s about being in the moment. If you’re in the future, you’re in separation.

HANS:
Absolutely. So just finding simple things to do. Sometimes getting some pictures of the family that’s crossed over and sitting down and being with those pictures, and putting a little Christmas ball here, and a little something there, and maybe a card or two, anything that brings you in joy and in touch with your history, the wonder, how you got here, all these wonderful people that made your life possible, some of them you never knew. Your great grandparents; you never even knew them.

Being grateful and happy in the moment at the holiday season. Let your Guidance know, let Spirit know that you’re not caught up in the appearance of fear. We have a policy here where we don’t really do gifts for Christmas, we give all year long. That’s something a lot of you should look at. Don’t be panicked if you don’t have a Christmas present. Or you give one or receive one. That’s not what’s important. Did you get a hug from someone you haven’t seen in a year? That’s important. Did you go and have a coffee with someone you’ve been too busy to see and they’ve been too busy—and did you get caught up?

Our little dog Bella got really sick, with a bronchial condition and the coughing was just horrible, and she got to the doctor yesterday, and she’s up and running. She wasn’t happy. She had to have some shots and some antibiotics, all kinds of stuff, but I’m grateful she’s okay.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
Choices. Opportunities. Let this Christmas be something that rings in your heart. That reminds you of all the chances you’ve had. All the good things that have been in your life. Don’t dwell on what didn’t show up. Don’t dwell on what hasn’t happened. Dwell on, “Oh, I’m still here. I’m still alive. I have choices. I have possibilities.”

Alfred and I have friends right now that won’t be here next year at Christmas. Their choices are limited but they’re still smiling, and, folks, that’s the key.

Don’t look at the appearance of your life as reality. Just look, “Oh that’s passing through me. Oh that’s passing by. I wonder what I’m supposed to learn from this?” And we’re getting ready for a whole new year. A brand new beginning, and in that beginning, you have all kinds of wonderful gifts that by this time next year you’ll say, “Well how did that happen? I never saw that coming.”

I had a telephone call from a lady the other day and she said, “Hansie I have to cancel my appointment, I’ve lost my job.” I said, “Wonderful, what are you going to do?” She said, “You know what? At first I got very frightened, but then I realized I didn’t want that job, it just was a lousy time for it to happen.” I said, “What are you going to do?” She said she was going to make a list of what she didn’t want anymore. There you go. She said, “I’m not going to fund energy to that anymore, and when I’m ready I’ll give you a call.” I said, “Wonderful!”

So folks, what I want you to know is that there are possibilities in your life everyday, and those possibilities increase as you believe. The key is believing.

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Why Does Life Seem So Difficult
October 10, 2015

HANS:
Hi everyone! The topic for today is “Why Does Life Seem So Difficult?” Even though we’re having fun with you today, for many people life seems very difficult. I don’t know how to say it any clearer than this. It’s how we view what’s going on. There are situations that happen in our life that seem insurmountable. They seem like your life is drowning, like you’re being thrown to the wolves, but our human-ness continues to inform us of what is wrong.

Now sometimes, for instance, a relationship… people have been together for awhile, maybe they’ve produced children, maybe they have really worked hard, and one day out of nowhere it goes - poof! Our immediate human-ness is to respond to that in such a way that we wonder what’s wrong. What happened? What if we found out that what happened was the energy that ran the relationship had run it’s time.

ALFRED:
Disconnect energy. That it was planned. And the other side is working with you to disconnect that which was planned.

HANS:
And you agreed to it because you set it up in the first place!

ALFRED:
It’s part of your life path.

HANS:
So what I’m saying to you is - even in the most difficult of moments, with every kind of scenario you can think, Spirit is there with you. Walking with you. Opening the doors in front of you. No matter how painful, when they close a door they open a window - you’ve heard that your whole life.

ALFRED:
I saw a quote about that today. Tragedies are actually opportunities in disguise. It depends how you look at it.

HANS:
Let’s go back to what we were talking about when we said the relationship went poof! All we can see in front of us is the pain of the moment. We want to run back into the history of the relationship. We want to rekindle it, we want to pull it forward into the new unknown. No, no, no. It’s over. Love each other. Be friends with each other. Let it go into the Light.

It’s very simple for me to sit here and say this to you, but that’s what Spirit expects. By the letting go of what wasn’t working anymore, you freed up your tomorrows, even though in the moment all you can see is blankness. It is blank. By letting go you have created a vacuum, and in the vacuum the new life comes.

ALFRED:
Working wth Spirit to let go of what doesn’t work anymore.

HANS:
Remember that old saying that says: one day at a time? That’s just what Spirit is saying to you. Just ask for the energy, kids, of one day at a time. And when you do that, you’re saying to Spirit, ”I believe, I trust you. I know that for all the pain I’m in at the moment, there is a rainbow at the end of this pain.”

ALFRED:
Then we get on to trust and surrendering. Surrendering that what is actually happening is part of your Dharma, part of your life path… is happening for a reason.

HANS:
You can’t get, if you don’t let go, children. You can’t continue to get and get. You have to let go in order to receive. When we’re in the middle of the pain it feels so real - you know that, Alfred.

ALFRED:
It does.

HANS:
I know that and all of you know. It looks real. It feels real. But it really isn’t. It’s our mind chatter at work.

ALFRED:
Yes, and whenever something feels stressful, painful, realize that is human-ness coming into the picture. Spiritually speaking, when you realize there’s human-ness - what’s your option? Surrender into it! Be peaceful with it. Let it go. Realize there’s a higher purpose. Go with the flow. Let go of the negative energy versus trying to control it. Where is it? I want it back in my life, and the other side is saying - no.

HANS:
There’s no more there. It’s over. There’s no more energy available, and the more you struggled after it, the more you keep trying to resurrect it, the more pain you put yourself in. Then you get mad and yell at God for not being on your side.

ALFRED:
You have two options here. You can focus on what isn’t working and get upset about it, or realize your glass is half full, realize and focus on what is working. If you focus on what isn’t working, you’re putting negative energy when the Universe is trying to help you versus being grateful for where you are, going back to being peaceful and letting this energy dissolve as it’s supposed to dissolve. Don’t put your energy on what isn’t working because if your focus, your attention is on what isn’t working — guess what is going to be attracted into your life? Spiritually speaking, if you put your energy on what isn’t working, that is the energy and the feeling and emotions you’re going to keep with you.

HANS:
They themselves are makers of themselves. We continue to draw to us our own consciousness.

ALFRED:
So when you have something you feel is being removed, taken away from you - spiritually speaking - put your energy, your focus, your attention on being peaceful, on what is working, your spiritual growth, working with your Guides. Go look at a flower. Go for a walk. Whatever it is to reconnect during this type of turmoil to take your energy away from that and your focus is on the positive.

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
How’s that for a short lesson? And now for our next topic which is - Being in the Void. Something was taken away from you, the Universe is saying, “That’s no longer part of your experience. We need to put you in the void for a little while.” All of a sudden there’s just nothing. Lack of a relationship, lack of a job, lack of money, lack of a car, lack of a partner, lack of friends…. So, lesson number two: when Spirit is removing something for you - your job is to focus on the good aspects of your life and connecting. What do you do when you’re in the void? When there is a lack of a relationship, lack of job, lack of money, and you’re wondering what’s going on here? What is somebody supposed to do during that time Hans?

HANS:
Be peaceful. Now folks, when you find yourself in the void, and you find more things going away from you than coming towards you - what do you do? What are your options? You make the void perfect at the moment. Now that’s really really tough to do. You bring back all the Hansie principles: What if there’s nothing wrong? What if I’m exactly where I need to be? What if my God loves me and sees where I am right now and is taking care of it? The key here, is in the void - do nothing.

I’m serious kids. Do nothing. Simply learn to be in that moment, because what is for you is already known by the Spirit. Stop the infernal praying. They already know. Okay? What is for you is automatically on the way.

So, don’t worry. You’re not going to be alone. Yes, there’s a person for you. I have rarely ever met anyone that did not have a soulmate on this side. There are instances, I had a lady today who said her children don’t speak to her because the father had poisoned their minds, and I pointed out to her - no, the children poisoned their own minds and they’ll get through it and come out the other side.

When children find themselves in divorce, for instance, they immediately need to blame someone. So, in the void, as you watch the things go away, know the children will return, because they will. Know there will be another relationship, because there will. And just have a quiet knowing, that in the void, in that moment - it’s perfect.

ALFRED:
So - two ways to handle the void. The first thing is to look at any aspect of human-ness, blame, understanding, stress, control, these are things to try to not do when you’re in the void. You can’t control, can’t completely understand your Dharma. You’re here on purpose not understanding your Dharma. If you’re trying to understand why things are being taken away from you, why this is not in your life, you’re going to drive yourself crazy. Drive yourself into human-ness and disconnect energy.

The void is all about connecting to the nothingness, connecting to the peacefulness, surrendering to - ready - trusting that the other side has a plan.

HANS:
Because they do. You’re not here by accident.

ALFRED:
Exactly. So what you’re supposed to do in the void is: #1. Trust.

HANS:
There’s a tough one.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
I was watching this one over here, Mr. Alfred. Lord, didn’t he go through something last week, and I had to remind him that all he was going through was his own mind chatter. We don’t want to hear that. The truth of the matter is whatever lessons are being presented to you are the lessons you chose to learn.

ALFRED:
And the faster that you trust, this is part of your path, and you surrender into it, the more clearly you will see the lesson.

HANS:
That’s the key! When you surrender into it and don’t allow your mind chatter to believe that something’s wrong, suddenly there’s a lightness that comes in your heart and a little light goes on over your head like Felix the Cat in my day, bingo! I’m driving myself crazy. Hello? Nothing’s wrong.

ALFRED:
That’s a good short lesson.

HANS:
I like that. This is one of the top five hardest lessons to learn - to believe and let go. That’s just really really tough.

And that will conclude our lesson for today.

Topic: Ignoring The Illusion
June 27, 2015

HANS:
Hello everybody. Welcome, welcome, welcome. You should see the hoops we're having to jump through in order to be able to do this today but it makes us happy to be able to get to you. The topic for today is "Ignoring The Illusion." You know folks, in life, you often heard me say that: Life is nothing more than an illusion. And I preface it by saying: You know, there's nothing going on in your life that you did not create. The mind, however, is an entirely different entity and it actually believes that these are real problems... that these things that you're going through you need to be concerned about, you need to be worried about.

This month I asked my dear friend Melinda to please write about this subject. And I have to tell all of you, she's done a terrific job and you'll see it in the Newsletter which will be coming out when, Alfred?

ALFRED:
We usually do them in the first week of each month and there's about 2 or 3 years of Articles and Spiritual Topics specifically for women. You can find those in the Newsletter, or you can go to HansKing.com and under "Free Resources" you can find the "Free Articles for Women."

HANS:
Life, as we know it, is based on what each one of us is busy creating. Okay? That's something that's very, very hard for people to grasp. They believe what they're seeing is real. But folks, everyday in your life you pass through other people's emotions, other people's creations. So nothing is actually planned folks. Spirit has an overall plan for all of us and we stay on that. But everything else... how you arrive at your destination is entirely up to you. Okay?

And so having a quiet understanding that: Oh, wait a minute, this isn't real... I had a dear lady friend of mine email me the other day and her life has just gotten so complex. She's worried about money, she's worried about being alone, she's worried about whether she'll lose her job, she's worried about whether she'll make her mortgage payment, her light bill was too high... this and that. It's just non-stop. But none of it is "real" and none of it is "true." But the mind chatter continues to invest in the appearance of it. And the more the mind chatter invests in the appearance of it, the larger it gets and seems to become "real."

This is why I say to you... You know I did a lecture at Agape some years ago and one of the questions that I asked was... about 1,400 people in the audience, I said: Can anyone in this room tell me what's going on in their life that they did not create? And nobody raised their hand... nobody. But you also don't sit around and sit that I'm making up this stuff either... for yourself. You know you're having these fears and doubts but you normally don't say: Am I just making this up? Is this real? Why am I lending energy to this?

So one of the things that Alfred and I teach is when you learn to start to pull yourself back from the appearance of what you've created, your whole life as you have known it, changes immediately. Alfred, any words on this?

ALFRED:
One thing about ignoring the illusion that we want you to understand is how much your mind tries to trick you into making what it thinks is "real". It's not just that mind chatter reminds you of the past or makes you worried about the future. But it makes you "feel" as though those things are actually "real." And the truth is - it's the past, it's gone, it doesn't exist. But your mind will not just simply remind you of what happened. It will remind you of the emotion, or it will remind you of the pain like it was yesterday. And you need to ask yourself when you're feeling something that's in the past to say: How real does it feel? But how long ago really was it? Was it last year, five years ago, ten years ago, twenty years ago?

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
But your mind is making it "feel" like it was yesterday. That's not the truth. That's an illusion. And the same thing also with the future is if your mind is making you worried about something that does not exist, because the future does not exist yet, it feels like it is "real." What if this could happen? What if that happens? And your mind makes you start freaking out and worrying like it is the truth. Like it is actually happening. And you're getting all stressed. And the reality is it's an illusion. Your mind is making you feel stressed about something that doesn't exist.

HANS:
And I've noticed, Alfred, that through the years when Spirit and I in our sessions try to remove those fears and those doubts from the people, they try desperately to hang onto them.

ALFRED:
And that's what we're trying to say is just because you "feel" something is real, doesn't mean it is real. It is an illusion. Okay? So it's not just that your mind presents you with false truths in its speaking but it makes you "feel" things that are not true also. And it really detaches us from a state of ease, it detaches us from our peacefulness, it detaches us from who we really are.

HANS:
And as we've always taught you - No two things can be in the same place at the same time. So when you're busy running all of this stuff... How often, Alfred, have both of us heard: I don't think Spirit hears me. They hear you. You have no place to hear Them. You're too busy manufacturing all of these illusions and not only, children, do you manufacture them, you spend time and effort investing in them, re-creating them over and over and over again.

So it's really important to sit down and ask yourself: Wait a minute. Is in fact any of this true? And what you're going to find out is: No, it's not true. But your mind chatter will try to tell you that the illusion is real because it created it. And like Alfred said earlier, it's always a matter of what "could" happen.

ALFRED:
Yes. For things in the future, things that "could" happen, there is a difference between thinking about something in the future that "could" happen and what your mind does to you which is making you believe that it is "real" and that you should actually prepare yourself and feel for that thing that is real that doesn't exist in the future.

HANS:
(Laughing) I know that if you're listening to this now. Alfred's smiling. It does sound funny - but it's true. Have you noticed that most of the questions that come into this Show are questions about what "might" be going to happen? And them some of them are about "why did that happen"... which used to be a "what if this happens?" Because being in the human form we tend to take the improbable and turn it into the appearance of reality. Have you noticed that, Sir?

ALFRED:
Especially if something has happened to you in the past, your mind wants to protect you. It wants to control the distinct possibility that what it's telling you is the truth and it's going to happen again and you need to protect yourself. And it needs to remind you of what happened, so that you can remember what happened, and you can feel what happened, in case it happens to you again.

HANS:
Exactly. It tries to reinforce itself.

ALFRED:
So the funny thing is that your mind is actually bringing to you that which you're trying to avoid.

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
How's that one for a "why?" So you're trying to avoid the thing. But in the reality, your mind is bringing it to you every single day by you thinking about it and the mind makes you "feel" like it actually is happening. So if you think about that, your mind is actually really convoluted. But it's so hard and that's what we're trying to tell you, is to tell the difference between something that isn't "real" - the past and the future... in this case the past, something that happened. It's over.

Now we do have a lot of Advanced Meditations in the Intuitive Development Class that help you separate who you are from things that happened in the past. We're trying to tell you right now just to be "aware" that your mind is doing these things "to" you. It's much more advanced to say: Okay, now that I'm aware that these things are lie, what do I do with the lies? How do I handle them?

So what we're talking about is whether your mind chatter is making you believe or feel something is the truth is really to dissect the matter and determine: Is this truth? Is this real?

HANS:
That's the key point, Alfred, right there. Is it truth? No fear is truth. Now there are moments in our life where somebody may cut us off on the freeway or there's a close call with another person in some sort of endeavor you're doing where fear will come up.

ALFRED:
Or your child is running around the house with a knife.

HANS:
Yes, well that would do it.

ALFRED:
Yes, that's real fear.

HANS:
Did you ever do that, Alfred? Or was it a broomstick or a baseball bat?

ALFRED:
We used to play with elastics. Like shoot elastics. And my parents would always scream: Be careful! It's going to hit you in the eye! And one day it did. The elastic went in the wrong direction... That's real. Okay? But the majority of what your mind tells you we want you to take a look at and dissect it calmly and say: Is it real? Is it really appropriate that I'm on high alert feeling these emotions.

HANS:
So basically what we're saying to you is investing in the illusion of what the mind chatter is creating takes you directly away from your ability to engage Spirit. And the more you do that, the more you invest, the less and less and less... And then you wind up emailing Alfred and I and say: Where has God gone? Where has Spirit gone? They haven't gone anywhere - you have. The adage is that: No two things can be in the same place at the same time.

ALFRED:
And what we're trying to tell you is: God is always there. Guidance is always there. Spirit is always there. Universal energy, abundance, love - that is always there. The question is: Are you allowing your humanness to separate you from that which always is? Okay? Let me say that again: Are you allowing yourself to separate from that which always is? Are you allowing your mind chatter, are you allowing these feelings to come in and take over you and separate you and block that which always is around you?

HANS:

We do that ourself, children. We simply do it ourself. Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Gratefulness
May 2, 2015

HANS:
Hello everybody. What a beautiful day! Glad to have you all with us today. And I want to thank everybody for the wonderful emails you've been sending in about how our teachings have helped you to restructure your life to move you into new places of joy and happiness that you didn't know were available. Today's topic is "Gratefulness."

I want to give you a little story today. Many years ago... probably 8 or 9 years ago, I had done a product for Nightingale-Conant called "Stop Searching and Start Living." And after the contract has expired and all that, Alfred thought of what we might be able to do with it. And he said, you know there's a book in this. And so for almost 5 years, on and off, we worked on the book. Alfred actually worked on the book. And he took the talkings and put them into writings... which is very difficult to do folks, believe it or not. And he worked on this over and over and over again. And we hired editors who had no idea... They were spiritual people but they tended to write me out of my own book and it became very painful... and frankly, we gave up for awhile and then we started up again.

All the time "knowing" that somewhere in time was a place for that book and the decades of teachings that I've been blessed to give out. Whenever I would lose track of it, Alfred would reinforce it. Whenever he would lose track of it, I would reinforce it to him. And so it's been a long, long journey. The reason that today we're speaking about "Gratefulness"... If you ever notice how Spirit works on your behalf... you keep looking and looking and searching and looking when it's right underneath your nose. And it's called "Faith." Faith's best friend is Trust. Trust has a "quiet knowing" that everything is as it should be.

Now to be very honest with all of you, I had reached a point with the book where I was tired of excusing it away. Why didn't anybody come forward? Why would the people that we hired that charged money and all that just take the money and do absolutely nothing? What was all of that about? And so it was hard, as time went by, to keep the hope up in that. But we did it nonetheless. As time went by, we were given an opportunity, through a friend of ours, to speak with someone who changed the direction and the course of the book. It's an editor. She could see and hear what we were attempting, and certainly what I was attempting before Alfred came on the scene, to say and to do.

And I was looking for a manual... a how to book in spirituality and mediumship. And just nobody could see it. But she could. And so for over a year, she and Alfred and myself have been working together to create the outlines and to write the chapters... rewrite all the chapters... well the chapters that we had already written anyway. And we were led to meet two people. And those two people are some of the nicest human beings I have ever met in my entire life. They told someone at a major publishing house about me and that person said: Oh, I know about Hans, I know about Hans. We'd like to publish his book. Site unseen as I said that. And today, after a meeting on Sunday last, they sent us an email agreeing to everything that we would like to see happen with the book.

And I called for Alfred to come and read the email with us and it's a firm offer. And I thought: Everything that we had talked about... about what we would like to do with the book is in the offer. Every single thing we could have ever dreamed for or asked for is in the offer. So I'm proud to announce that Simon & Schuster will be publishing my new and first book within the next year. So to all of you I thank you for the wonderful work that you let me do with you. And I look forward to going into the future. This book... We're already looking at another book. We already have a title for that one. So I thank you all and Alfred, how do you feel about this?

ALFRED:
Well one of the reasons we're bringing this topic up under the subject of "Gratefulness" is we literally have been working on this book for 9 years... 9 years. And that has been a really long time. And that is really where Faith and Belief come in to play is to be grateful for the way things are, to be grateful for what you have, to be grateful for the unknown, to be grateful for knowing that the Other Side is working on your behalf, to be grateful by letting go of expectations, by being grateful for letting go of the way you need things to be, to be grateful of the need to know when and how something is going to unfold. That is just "is."

And that's why we're bring up this topic is because Hans and I have dedicated ourselves to being of service. It's been a very long road. We've put an enormous amount of work into it. We just continued to have Faith and Trust in the Universe that this was going to unfold as it was going to unfold, when and how it was going to. And it is incredibly difficult to be grateful for what is in front of you and to release what is coming at you.

HANS:
Yeah. And I'm not going to say for one minute that Alfred and I didn't have to practice our teachings folks. Because we did. And there were moments of disappointment... phone calls that were missed or never arrived. But when something is supposed to be, it simply happens. So what I am the most grateful for is first of all for my Guidance, for Spirit, for God. But I'm grateful for Alfred, I'm grateful for Anita, I'm grateful for John and Rikka... I'm grateful for all the people who came into my life to make this possible. I'm very grateful for Nancy and she knows why. I'm grateful that I have this chance, at my age, to do something that my father made me promise I would do and I'm happy to do that.

But I do want, Alfred, I do want people to know that there was a little struggle every once in awhile.

ALFRED:
Yes. And that's probably the second part of why we decided to choose this topic is anyone, anyone who is in human form will find this a challenge. One of the examples when we start teaching spirituality in business is: Okay. Everybody understands the difference between your glass is half full, your glass is half empty. Well can you be grateful when life is so burdensome and difficult that you think you could be grateful when your glass is 20% full, when your glass is 10% full? Can you be grateful when your glass is 1% full? And that's when...

HANS:
That's a key thing you just said. Gratefulness all the way along. Even if it's just 1%.

ALFRED:
To realize that to transcend this lesson you really need to realize that it's not about the glass, it's not about what you have. It's about who you are and being of service and continuing to be of service. In order to transcend the lesson of your glass is half full, your glass is half empty, you have to realize it doesn't matter what's in the glass. What really matters is your "intent" to be of service and whatever it looks like really doesn't matter. That's not up to you what it looks like.

HANS:
That's nicely put. No, it isn't up to you what it looks like. It's up to you knowing what is best, that Spirit knows what is best for you and for your dharma. Alfred and I have been reminded by one of our members that this show is nearly 5 years old. Now folks, in my wildest imaginings I never would have believed I would have had this little radio show for 5 years. It just didn't come into my consciousness.

So I'm grateful for all of you who help me and remind me of who I am and what it is that I do. By putting your trust and faith in Alfred and I with your very, very personal issues, with your spiritual issues, with your spiritual growth, we are enormously grateful.

Alright Alfred where would you like to now go with this morning? Because this news was important for us to get out and I wanted to do that... let you all know what's going on. We are also leaving, by the way, tomorrow for Asheville. So we will be back there in about a week. We are driving with Bella. Luckily this time I don't have to drive myself out. Alfred's coming with me, we'll share the driving. So again for those of you along Highway 10 if you see us go by, wave. We'll wave back.

ALFRED:
Well I think that's basically it. A lot of times... or should I say a good part of the radio show, we really focus on the basics. And what we're trying to tell you here is an advanced lesson. That the basics would be your glass is half full and to be grateful your glass is half full instead of focusing on your glass is half empty. Okay? That's a very basic spiritual principle.

And what we're trying to tell you here... what we've been living through the past 9 years kicking and screaming the entire way is overcoming the lesson,  transcending the lesson, transcending the lesson that you need "anything" in order to be happy. Transcending the lesson that you need "anything" to be of service. Because it is not what you have that enables your happiness. It is not what you have that enables your ability to be of service. It is simply what is "inside" of you that determines your service, your clarity, your ability to work with the Other Side, your happiness, your bliss, your joy.

We have mentioned many times that happiness and bliss come from the simplest of things. The things that cost no money or maybe $1 to feed bread to ducks...

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
So in this lesson that we're passing on to you is even in the most difficult times, consider transcending the lesson that anything that is happening external to you is an illusion to let go of. There's no reason to judge it, there's no reason to perceive it, there's no reason to have an expectation. Those are all "human." Simply let go, have “faith.” Be grateful for the happiness you have inside. Be grateful for the ability to have this incarnation. Be grateful that the Other Side is working on your behalf in order to transcend the lesson that anything outside of you, including how much is in your glass, really doesn't matter. It's simply a distraction.

HANS:
I think, Alfred, that will conclude the show for today.

Topic: Holiday Peacefulness
December 28, 2014

Hans:
Hello everyone. Today's topic is "Holiday Peacefulness." One of the things that I recommend that people do is remember the excess mind chatter on this particular subject. And so before you go into an event where the people are present, you need to be very still. Sit down, be very still. And say: I choose this day not to listen to my mind chatter. I choose this day to no longer be wounded, to be hurt by past memories with this family. I choose to take today and turn my life around by accepting them just as they are. Not reacting to anything that is said, just blessing them. You don't have to say that out loud. But you don't have to respond to anything that's said either. You can always say: I choose to be peaceful. It will make them crazy. But it's very contagious actually, Alfred.

Alfred:
Okay. So Hans can you tell people how to let go of the need to fix family members? We really love our family, we want them to be as happy as we are, but what are the ways we could just let the family members be?

Hans:
What if you found out guys, all of you, what if you found out that there wasn't anything wrong? What if you found out it was your perception that was making the other person wrong? The other person doesn't think they're wrong. You do. So what if you just loved them and accept them? You may not agree with their behavior, my friends. But having no judgment is offering love, basically. So if you just love your family, with no judgment, don't try to fix anyone. Be that light you want to see in the world. Be that change you want to see in your family. And you'll be amazed when people say: You don't seem to be angry anymore. Say: No, I'm not. And they will say: Well how did you do that? I found love in my heart for everyone. And that's hard to do, my friends, because we have so many memories of who did what to who and when and who can sit next to who and who shouldn't be invited... All that stuff is humanness. All that stuff, all the anger is all humanness. That's the absence of God in your thinking. That's the absence of Spirit in your actions. Because the truth of the matter is none of them are wrong. It's your perception of what went on that caused you to have a judgment. But what you can't do is sit inside of them and listen to what they say about you and that they think you have a judgment. So by simply putting love in the place of judgment, and acceptance in the place of anger, all of the pain begins to dissipate.

I had a dear lady client that I had known for over 25 years and she hadn't been home to see her family in 20. And she had all of these reasons about what her brother and sister did to her, what her father and mother did to her, and she had magnified this so out of true proportions that she never went back to the family and every year she didn't go back she reminded herself of why she wasn't going and she built it and she built it and she built it. And Spirit said to her: This year you're going back. We request that you go back with no judgment and only love in your heart. She said: They'll tear me to shreds. And Guidance said to her: No, only you can do that. They will not tear you to shreds. She went and she called me before she got on the plane in San Francisco, she was going to New Jersey, she called me, she said: I'll never make this. And I said: Go. She went. And she said before she went into the room she did the exercise that we gave her and she said when she went in people ran up to her and hugged her. Her mother cried, her father cried, brother and sister cried, they loved on her. We have missed you so. Where have you been? What did we do that ever made you so upset? She said: I never would have believed it. Even when Hans, you told me, I couldn't bring myself to believe it. I had caused all of the pain in my own heart. Folks, when you go to be with friends and people that you think there's a problem with, put love in your heart, put Spirit in your actions, you'll be amazed at what happens.

Alfred:
And this is what we want to get to is all of these inner peace practices. Start them during the holidays - non-judgment, letting go of the past, being an example of your beliefs, going within. All of these things we've been talking about, start them during the holidays but apply them to everybody. And that's really difficult. But if you can do them with your family...

Hans:
You can do it with anybody.

Alfred:
...you can do it with anybody. That's the point. Don't just do non-judgment, letting go of your past during the holidays. Let's talk about doing this...

Hans:
Let this be the platform for the rest of your life.

Alfred:
Exactly, for the rest of the year...

Hans:
Or for the rest of your life.

Alfred:
This is the way to give yourself the greatest gift possible – inner joy, happiness and peace, all year round. What do you think about that Hans?

Hans:
I think it's perfect because it's true. And what I'm trying to teach you tonight is our perceptions become oftentimes our worst enemies. Our perceptions become anger, fear, doubt, judgment. Our perceptions are nothing more than a filter that we have put in front of us so that we don't get hurt and we view through that. I remember, if all of you remember, the movie "Auntie Mame," for instance, with Rosalind Russell. What a fun, wonderful Christmas movie. In fact I'm going to watch it tomorrow as I do every holiday. But they decided to make it into a movie and for reasons unknown to anyone, they decided not to use Rosalind Russell but they decided to use Lucy. Now an incredible actress of her own and there's no doubt whatsoever. But she insisted, absolutely insisted, that they shoot her through gauze. And it was fuzzy and cloudy and my dear friend Hal King was the make-up artist for her for over 25 years. And he said they made it almost impossible to almost see her. That's what her perception said she wasn't good enough the way she was. She wasn't perfect. So she needed to shoot that through the gauze.

What I'm saying to you is you do not need any filter between you and love. You already are love. You are already the best you will ever be for God. For those of you who are alone this year, and there are millions of you, this is an opportunity to remind yourself that in fact you are not alone. In fact, your God doesn't love anyone more than you as you hear me say each week. Find something to do that makes you smile. Back in the day Alfred used to say: Go find a flower and just look at it. There's such beauty in the flower. It doesn't have to demonstrate who it is, it radiates who it is. And if you're alone, it's a terrible word, I don't like that word, but if you're not with someone or a group, a family, that's the opportunity of a lifetime that a lot of spiritual people miss. The value of being by yourself during major events in your life so that you can look in that mirror. You know I used to give workshops about 25 years ago, and I would hand everybody who came to the workshop a mirror. And one of the exercises was I want you to look in this mirror and then tell me who you see. Do you know that most people, my dear friends, could not do it. And that was our opening round, that really scared them. Most people could not tell me who they saw in that mirror until one little old lady in one class said it all. Every bit of 80, and she had followed me for many, many years, and she looked in the mirror, she held it up to her face on the side, and she says: Hans, I see love. And I said: Margaret, that's the answer. I see love. Folks, when you go to that mirror before you go anywhere, or present yourself for an interview for a job, before you go home to the family that's all screaming and hollering at each other, go look in the mirror and present yourself Love. That is who you are. It doesn't matter what anybody else sees or anybody else thinks. So, in the moment, when you have it, Alfred likes to refer to it as a dysfunctional organization - your family, find the joy and the humor in who they are and the love in who you are by loving them anyway. Okay?

Alfred:
And Lord knows if you can learn to be just pure love around your family, which the majority of old souls have "interesting" families, if you can do that, then you can be love with anyone.

Hans:
Something in that wonderful thing that was written by Anonymous - somewhere in there he or she writes "If you can keep your head when everything and everyone else around you is losing theirs... " And I thought, yeah. If you can do that, you just found your peace. And folks, when you find your love, you find your peace.

Alfred:
So the holidays are just a wonderful opportunity to...

Hans:
All around, yes.

Alfred:
... practice love, practice patience, unconditional love, non-judgment – the basics. To practice them with your family...

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
... and then continue to practice them for the rest of the year. That's what we're telling you is the way inner peace and happiness.

Hans:

Alfred, you brought something up a little bit ago that I think is really important for everybody to hear and then I came in and sort of expounded on it a little. Folks, what we're teaching you today should not be a once a year occurrence. It should be "always." Starting with I am this and I will be this and this is how I'm going to operate out for the rest of this year and the rest of my life. So use the catalyst of the holidays perhaps to broaden your understanding a little here and then carry that throughout the year and throughout your life. I want to take this opportunity to say to everyone, look forward to this New Year. Be ever so grateful of the one you just had. For many of you many prayers that you had prayed for, did come true. For many of you, some of your worst fears came true. However, remember now that it's done. That was then, this is now. And make a promise to yourself to discover more of who you are. Learn to spend a little more time with yourself. Learn to be less judgmental, especially towards people who don't live up to decent expectations that you have, like friendship and warmth and love. Have no judgment of them because you don't know who they actually are. Even though they could be your sister, your brother, your mother, your father, you don't know inside of them who they really are. Bless them. Ask Spirit to bring them everything they need to discover who they are and to make their life of value. Okay, Alfred I think that will conclude the topic for today.

Topic: Family and Friends During the Holidays – Handling Differences
December 22, 2014

Hans:
So our topic for today "Family and Friends During the Holidays." How do we handle those differences? First of all, you don't point out how wrong they are. Remember, they're entitled to be where they are, and they're entitled to have their opinions. And it's not our job, it's not your job, folks, to try to change them. Mahatma Gandhi once said: Be the change you want to see in the world. So that's what's important. Do not debate your truth. Do not try to convince anybody of your truth. If someone were to say to you: How did you get where you are? How did you become so peaceful? That's another matter. Explain it as best you can without coming from a place that says I am correct and you are wrong. Explain who you are and how you arrived at your peace, and it's from that place that they have an opportunity to grow. Not by lecturing them. Now, if somebody is ragging on you and saying:  You know what are you talking about? You don't know what you're talking about. You know here's the right way and all that... Remember what I've taught you all these years. Well, what do we say: Not my problem. That's they key. And trying to say: Not my problem, without having some guilt attached to it. Right, Alfred?

Alfred:
Yes, because they are family and that's the real issue is how can we spiritual speakers talk to them? Be there for family members, listen to our brothers and sisters, our parent's point of view, and still love them knowing they are on a different path than what we're at. And one of the most basic, fundamental, life-changing lessons is "have no opinion"...

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
...have no judgment.

Hans:
In other words, Alfred, I think what we're both trying to say is: Don't make them wrong. Let them have their own belief system. Do not argue your point. Say: Well, I love you and bless you where you are. This will drive them crazy for one thing. But it's very important that you're only there folks to help someone who asks to be helped. That's all. But you're going to have people out there in your family and in your daily life, your friends for instance, who basically are angry, who basically don't understand your point of view, or may be a little jealous of your position, or just who don't get you or just can't see you... and that could be a mother and a father or a brother.. could be a best friend sometimes. But remember something, they're entitled to their opinion and it is not our job to change anyone. Let your light shine that others might see you and where you are and there will be people who would like to be part of that light. But getting confrontational, arguing with people, trying to help, wanting them to see your point of view – that is not your problem. That is their problem. Okay? Alfred, you can remember back when during the holidays, there were family gatherings. Remember some of the dysfunction during those times?

Alfred:
Oh, I'm sure there's so many people out there who remember, or still are going through, who can show up, who's not allowed to show up, and for those people who are showing up, who can sit next to who, who can sit across from who, who has to be separated from who, and actually having a serious discussion about that.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
Yes.

Hans:
You know Alfred, when you first told me that, I have to tell you, I've never had that experience. I was absolutely shocked that your family couldn't let so-and-so sit across from so-and-so and they couldn't invite so-and-so or so-and-so wouldn't come. I was absolutely amazed. And I still am to this day that that is how people would treat this holiday.

Alfred:
But I think a lot of our listeners want to hear about how do you relate to relatives and friends that say and act in ways that are simply not truth - spiritual truth? How do you get along. Especially during the Holidays?

Hans:
Then basically you don't discuss it. If they wish to push you and they want to be confrontational, your job is to say: I love you and I respect your opinion. That's it. Do not engage them in the conversation, because they are looking to pick a fight. They want their point of view to triumph. And the only way it can is if you agree to it. And if there's no place in you to agree to it, they will give up. Alfred, you have a wonderful statement that you say to people sometimes: I love you anyway.

Alfred:
Yes...

Hans:
There's a lot of power in that statement.

Alfred:
...and that's the thing to do is to just be love, Is just to be caring, is just to be helpful, is just to be there and be helpful, be caring, be loving, be as Hans was saying, inside yourself, be that example. But just not discuss this stuff. You show the example and be the example of what you believe. As much as possible, love everyone, care about everyone, try not to have an opinion. Just smile, just be peaceful regardless of what's going on, who's arguing about what, who's talking about who, your job is to stay peaceful.

Hans:
You just brought up one very important thing, Alfred. People will try to engage you about other people. You, yourself know this in your own family. And they will try to engage you - do you hear what so-and-so did? Can you believe that so-and-so did this or said this about some... Do not engage in gossip about others, children. Because what they will say about others, they will say about you. Back away from it and always say to Spirit: Please bless them. Help them to find their way. Help them to find their light that is best for them. That's what I do folks. And folks I have wonderful clients out there, and you know who you are, who have terrible relationships with a family member. Sometimes that family member has the appearance they're trying to hurt you, trying to take something away from you. Many times because a parent or parents have died, there's an estate and oh my God, nothing tears a family up more than an estate and the rivalry that goes on. Even though you may be the most loving, caring, kind person, there may be somebody in your family who feels it's necessary to attack you and hurt you. That usually comes from a very sad and jealous place inside of themselves. But meanwhile, the appearance is they have the power to really hurt you emotionally. Always remember, no matter how hard it may be in that moment to say to Spirit: Bless that person, help them please, show them where they need to be, and let  the light shine on the subject we are engaged with, that we are involved with. Add the power of the light to it. Sometimes you don't see results right away. But over time, Spirit will bring the light, for sure. Remember light always follows darkness...always, okay? So use this as a time to rejoice the power within you and let the light of the God-force, the light of Spirit to shine upon you. So this is an important time to learn to be peaceful in the appearance of craziness, in the appearance of dysfunction. You know this, right Alfred?

Alfred:
Yes, is not to believe what is going around, not to believe what other people say, not to fall into the trap of getting sucked into "drama." What someone supposedly did, what someone supposedly said, your job as a spiritual soul, is to be "peaceful," is not to have anything that's going on around you knock you off your center. Again one of the most basic teachings we've been going over, especially on this show, is what someone else says or does is not your problem.

Hans:
Is not your problem ever...

Alfred:
...it's if what someone else says or does, does knock you off your center, that is your problem.

Hans:
Absolutely Alfred, that's correct. What someone thinks about you is none of your business, but what you think of what they think of you should be very much your concern.

Alfred:
Or anyone... or your cousin, or your parents, or your uncles, or your aunts or your friends...

Hans:
Yes, it doesn't matter who it is. Exactly...

Alfred:
...whatever anybody says or does...

Hans:
...has nothing to do with you.

Alfred:
...about anybody else. It doesn't even have to do with you, it could be your brother's in a fight with an uncle, it's your mother says something about your cousin...

Hans:
Exactly. You know Alfred, a while back I was talking to a dear lady and she said to me: You know Hans, my mother said this and that about me and only the other day she said: Well, I was right, you're never going to amount to anything. And she said: This has wounded me so badly. And I said: Why? She said: Because of what she said. I said: But what she said has nothing to do with you. She said: Well, certainly, it was directed at me. I said: No, it wasn't. This was not a statement of who you are, angel. This is a statement of where she's at. No, they're two different things. Separate yourself from somebody's else's rage, separate yourself from somebody else's anger or opinion. It has nothing children, listen again, this has nothing to do with who you are. And there are times when it appears that God doesn't see us, God doesn't hear us, the Spirit has abandoned us when these people run amok and start hurting us. But therein is the lesson that you chose to learn. That lesson was to learn to rise above the appearance of the difficulty of the sadness. To be better than to be identified with that sort of behavior. Because again, as Alfred and I are pointing out to you, it has utterly nothing to do with you.

Alfred:
And notice what we're talking about here. Is we're talking about very basic spiritual principles. What we're saying is: Treat your family, treat your friends like the way you treat anybody else.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
The issue that we've seen year after year after year is people think well, they're family, these spiritual principles don't apply to them. Of course they're going to love me. Of course they're going to care. I don't understand why they're being mean. And that's where you get yourself in trouble...

Hans:
That's exactly true. You get yourself in trouble.

Alfred:
...is you apply these basic principles to your family and friends just like you do to  anybody else.

Hans:
You want to talk at this normal level. You want to be involved with them at the new level you've found. But they can't hear you, folks. They can't see who you are. So don't try. If somebody comes out from the shadows and said: I don't exactly know what you're talking about, but it feels good in my heart. Would you mind explaining a little to me? Absolutely, go for it. You can help anybody who asked to be helped. But if somebody has a judgment and then says: Help me. Don't bother with them. Don't bother with them folks, move on. Let your light shine. Let your light show you the way. Because there is no relationship on earth that is more precious to you than you to you. That's the gift that God gave you. Because inside of each and every one of you lies the power of the God-force, lies the power of the Spirit – you are connected at that level – always. And the only thing that can bring you down is your own consciousness. That's all.

Alfred:
And one point I'd like to tell everyone... Well, what is that confusion, what is the feeling when you get confused to say: Well, they're my family. Of course they're supposed to love me. Of course they're supposed to support me. Of course they're supposed to be generous and loving and kind. And what happens to you in that internal conflict when they're not? What is going on here when you say: I don't understand this. They're supposed to be family and they're not. And so many of us get torn apart because something inside says: Well, they're supposed to be supportive and loving. How come they're tearing each other apart and being mean?

Let me explain this in a very simple way. For those of you who are spiritual, you will find that inner deep “knowing” that your family and friends should be loving and caring and supportive and generous and always there. Okay? If they, themselves, are not spiritual, then it doesn't apply. However, what it does apply to is your family and friends in Spirit. They love you unconditionally. They are always there for you. They are there to support you and to guide you. And that is one of the hugest benefits of doing Automatic Writing is you form a relationship with those family and friends that you thought should always be there. And that's part of Intuitive Development is to get you a stronger relationship with those family and friends who are in Spirit and who understand: Yes, that's the way you're supposed to behave. You're always supposed to love everyone. You're always supposed to care. You're always supposed to be supportive. And that is what comes through when you form a relationship with your family and friends on the other side. Why? Because they're in Spirit. So if you have that instinct, and you're being torn apart, you have to realize the simple fact - those family members who are not spiritual, are not going to act that way.

Hans:
Alfred, do you remember any number of years ago when you finally heard the message that you are now giving others, for yourself and your family? Do you remember how things began to change?

Alfred:
Yes.

Hans:
When you stopped being hurt by actions from your family?

Alfred:
Yes, and there's so many things that seem like basic spiritual teachings in this lesson, but if you go through and actually apply them, your life will change and these basic spiritual lessons of: Not my problem. Just be peaceful. Have no judgment of them. Just be loving. Be peaceful. This will change your life. I carried hell with me for 24 years about my family - how they abused me, how they abandoned me, how my life was ruined because of them. And then one day I woke up and said: Oh, that's not true. And all of a sudden, all that hate, that anger, that disappointment - dissolves.

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
Because it's not the truth. The truth is, it's not your problem, it's their problem.

Hans:
That is right. And kids, when you get that, and Alfred's about as thick-headed as you can get, sorry Alfred...

Alfred:
It's the truth.

Hans:
It's the truth. (Hans laughing) He's about as thick-headed as you can get and for him to get that... I watched his demeanor, I watched everything about him soften. And I watched the anger begin to dissolve. And I watched him have a resolve to not be hurt by this anymore. And folks, for all of you, there's going to be times when a mother or a father, a sister or a brother says and/or does things to you and deliberately intends to hurt you... It could even be a legal action, and deliberately intends to hurt you, defend yourself legally, but don't take it personally. That's the key. Don't let the statement of somebody else disturb your ease, disturb your peace, okay? Alrighty, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.
