Topic: Death and The Soul's Passing
April 13, 2015

HANS:
Hello everyone. Today's topic is "Death and the Soul's Passing." It's one of the toughest things that ever happens to us is the anticipation of someone passing and the actual passing. So many of us are connected to another person so strongly that the very idea of them leaving us, or abandoning us and going on without us, is terrifying. There's another fear, Alfred, that comes up... and I hear it a lot from people: Have they moved on beyond me? Will they still be here for me? Will they still be guarding me and taking care of me? The answer is "absolutely."

They don't move on beyond you. They go into their own new thing that they have to do. But remember that the time of the Spirit is very rapid. A day for them is like a month to us. Okay? So they don't view the time so much so they don't feel its been so long since they've been gone.

But it is a terrible time when someone that you have loved very much has to say goodbye. But they're really not leaving. They're simply going into that dimension that you go into every night that you go to sleep. And therefore you are still totally available to them. It's in the nighttime. And then in the daytime, you can ask them to help you with specific areas in your life - what you'd like to have done. In other words, most people I have found let the person who has passed away go - literally. They let them go. Even though they believe in their heart that that person can help them, they don't include them, they don't give them things to do.

And that's one of the things that I think that a lot of people need to look at is why we feel that we need to abandon those that we love. And one of the things that Spirit has said to me was: They never leave us. But they, which is us, most always leave them. And I said: Why? They said: Because it's too painful to call us up in consciousness. He said: Include us. Include your mother, or your father, your grandma. Include them in your life. Your child... include them in your life - on a daily basis. Speak to them in the morning when you get up. I like to say: Give them things to do. They absolutely love that. Because they're not supposed to interfere, Alfred, unless we give them permission to do so.

ALFRED:
Absolutely. And the truth of what we're trying to say here about death is those souls who have passed, in reality, love us even more, and support us even more, and want to be with us and help us even more from the Other Side.

HANS:
Very true, very true.

ALFRED:
And since they've let go of the humanness...

HANS:
Their human perceptions.

ALFRED:
Yes. All they are is unconditional love. So the normal way, should we say, the human way, the mind chatter way, is to view death as something wrong. Yes, of course, you can mourn the person. Yes, of course, you can remember all of the good things that happened. But the truth is that that soul is around you and wants to be involved in you, at least, if not more, than that person was when they were here on earth.

HANS:
Um hmm. Do we have any other questions on Death, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Oh, we absolutely do have more, Hans. How do you deal with the mind chatter of somebody passing?

HANS:
That's a tough one. Because the mind chatter has its own perception of your relationship with that person. By that it may say: I never got to say this... or they never said that to me. And it gets the mind chatter involved. Rather than say: I love that person and they love me and I know they're going to be there for me as I proceed down the path. We start going into memory and finding pain and say: Oh, I wish this could have happened... or I wish my mom had said this... or my dad had said that. And we go into a place where the mind chatter just begins to explode in pain. And that's the time when you want to say: You know what? None of this is true. I'm not going to allow this mind chatter to interfere with my love for the person who's crossed over.

Sometimes, Alfred, when people pass over, there are a lot of what I'm going to call lost expectations - things that might have been, things that could have been said. But remember, that person only came into this life to assist you on your journey. And so no matter what it appears like, that person was here to be a mirror and a growth partner with us.

ALFRED:
So is it okay to grieve someone's passing?

HANS:
Oh, Heaven's yes. Absolutely. But in your grief, don't grieve for them. Grieve for the appearance of the loss of their presence. That's what you can grieve for. They're fine. They're beautiful. They're okay. We're the ones who are left with the problem. So yes, you can grieve them but remember we're really grieving the loss that we feel of their identity and their personage. We miss being able to hug them, or pick the phone up.

I still picked the phone up for a year, a year and a half, after my father died to call him. I never told anybody that. But I did it all the time. Because for 47 years I did. And it's very hard to simply shut that off, Alfred, and say: Oh, just don't do that anymore. That's not how the human psyche works. Okay? But as I developed my relationship with my dad, after he was gone, the need for being able to do that diminished. Okay?

ALFRED:
What about how we make them feel? For example, the difference between us being sad that they're gone or us being happy remembering their life. Do they feel that on the Other Side?

HANS:
Absolutely. And this is what I try to say to people, Alfred: You're making them feel bad. Don't do that. And people get mad at me and say: How can you say those types of things? Because it's true. They feel... As I like to say: When you smile Spirit smiles. When you laugh Spirit laughs. Always. So if you're wandering around crying all the time and depressed and suicidal thoughts and all of that stuff, they feel that, they hear that, and then they feel bad that they caused you pain.

But each person in our life, for as long as our life on This Side exists, has a contract with us. And those contracts don't always mean that that persons stays with you for the entirety. It doesn't mean that. So enjoy the person while they're here, love them while they're here, knowing that they did not go anywhere you're  not. There's the key, children. They did not go anywhere that you're not going. And Christ said: I go before you to prepare a room for you in my father's house.

In other words... Let's say your mom or your dad passes away, they're going back home again. And when they do, they prepare a space for you when your time here is over. The love never dies. You don't love your parents, or your lover, or your loved one, or your doggy, or whatever... you don't love them less because they left you. Love was eternal.

ALFRED:
And I think that's it for the questions we have on Passing, Hans.

HANS:
Alrighty. This is a very, very difficult subject everyone. And each and every one of you will face this subject, if you live a normal life span, several times in your lifetime. But remember, they are right beside you “always” in consciousness.

Okay, Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Judgment and Opinion
April 6, 2015

HANS:
Good day everybody. So glad to be back with you today. "Judgment and Opinion"... Wow, can you imagine going through your life with no judgment or no opinion? You know, that's what we were supposed to do. That's what Spirit, that's what God lined us up for. No judgments, no opinion.

But unfortunately, we live in a society that points out to us, every single day, what's wrong. What “could” happen, what “might” happen, what “has”  happened... every day. And then we have all the pundents on TV and all the reporters and the writers for the magazines who all have their opinion, which is nothing more than a judgment. They don't know. I'm watching, right now, the country go crazy with this nuclear deal with Iran when nobody knows the truth but the President and Secretary of State and his staff. But all these judgments, all these opinions, all this fear, is pouring forward. Whether you like Mr. Obama or you do not like Mr. Obama, he has the best interest of our country at heart... and always has had.

So when you come into this world, you come in with no judgments and no opinions. Well, where do you get judgments and opinions from? Well, it starts with your family. Because each member of your family has arrived and wherever they are in their life, having gone through multitudes of pain and upset-ness and not knowing, and most people don't have really peaceful times anymore, and so they sort of built up this wall and they make it somebody else's fault. Oh, well your grandfather did this, and you know if your grandfather had just taken his money and put it in here we wouldn't have this problem we have today with money, and your father lost his job and nothing's ever been the same since.

That's what we do. We start forming judgments and opinions. True spiritual performance for the self is when you say: It is that it is and it is fine. Because every single thing, kids, that you come across in your life is meant to help you. Every relationship, every child, your parents, are meant to grow you. Therefore “nothing is wrong.”

I remember when that Buddhist Monk said to me... He said: Well young man, what if you found out that absolutely nothing was wrong? And I couldn't... I couldn't, kids, get my head around that thought that actually nothing was wrong. He said: It's only your perception of what is happening that makes it look wrong to you. Okay? Only your perception. And that's where your spirituality comes into play.

Because when we have a perception, it says that we have a knowing. No we don't. We have an idea of what we think should be right. But someone once said: There's your opinion, my opinion, and the truth. Interesting, isn't that? In every argument there are two sides who believe they are correct. In every war both sides pray to some kind of a god.

Simplicity, always children, is truth itself. And the simpler you make your life, the less turning on FOX News, or listening to pundents, the less you do that, the less you set yourself up to hear discord, anger, resentment, the purer the energy around you becomes. And as that energy becomes purer, your life becomes sweeter, it becomes kinder, it becomes nicer. But when you allow the mind chatter to rail on and on and on about this is wrong or that is wrong or why did this happen... It just “is.”

You will always be taken care of by Spirit - always. God knows you're here. Yeah, for some of you you've chosen what appears to be little more challenging lives. I did. Alfred did. But does that mean... And this is what I want you to really all hear - does that mean anything is wrong because you have a more challenging life? No. It's just that you chose very challenging situations to grow your character. And it is your character that you take back to Spirit when you leave here. How you did, how you handled... Remember, Spirit never looks at the deed - ever, ever, ever. They only look at the intention behind the deed. I've been telling you kids for years now.

We set ourself up in a situation that says: If only I had this... Or if only I could do that... If only I had a partner I know my life would be perfect. But that's not true and you all know that's not true. If only I had enough money, everything would be perfect. Well, there have been times where you've had plenty of money and then you worried about not having it.

Learning that you are enough, learning that you have enough, learning that fear is about the possibility of lack, fear is about the possibility of not finding love. I'm counseling a dear friend of mine and she keeps talking about a relationship... not having a relationship. And I said: It's not about the relationship. It's about the relationship you have with yourself. And on Saturday, we spent 3 hours helping people to understand that it's not about the love out there, it's about the love in here, the love inside of us.

We present ourselves to Spirit and to God as very needy and very sad because we don't have something. When we have surrounding us, every day, love... every day, love. But we don't look at that as an asset. We look at it as: Yes, we have love but it's us, where's my partner? That's not what it's about. Love always comes when you're not looking. Stop looking for love. It never happens that way. Only when you're not looking, it shows up. And it shows up in the most unusual ways. Okay?

Judgment, anger, resentment, are all products of a sad place in our heart. We need to blame people, we need to become victims of people, and we need to become victims of situations. When if we would stop one day, sit down and say: I'm done; It's over. I'm going to listen to Hansie's "You Are Enough." And I'm going to follow my life from that point. I absolutely refuse to be intimidated, I refuse to allow myself to be fearful, and no matter what negative thought comes into my head I intend for it not to be able to stay any longer.

Alfred?

ALFRED:
A lot of people try to understand what happened. Where do these judgment and opinions come from? Why are they so prevalent? A lot of it is because of the way we grew up. We looked towards others who we thought knew more than us. Thus we took on their judgments, their opinions of life, whether they're family, friends, or media. And part of spiritual growth is to understand that you are unique. There is absolutely no need for you to take on anyone else's opinions and judgments. And in reality, any judgment, any opinion, is simply mind chatter because you understand the universal truth - that it is impossible to have a proper judgment or opinion.

Because you don't  know everything. You don't know complete dharma, karma, experiences, attitude... anything. So quite simply the simple spiritual practice is by doing the inner work you're letting go of all of those judgments and opinions. That is a huge part of letting go of mind chatter, that is a huge step towards getting inner peace is letting go of all of those things you picked up as you were growing up.

HANS:
And Alfred, I think it's important for people to remember they didn't do it deliberately.

ALFRED:
No.

HANS:
Nobody set out to be in pain, nobody set out to be unhappy. It happened along the way. Okay? It happened along the way. I was watching a movie on TV and the young man about 13 or 14, he found out that his girlfriend really didn't like him very much and she gave him back his ring. And he came home and his dad sat him down and said: What's going on, son? And he told him. And he said: Ah, growth. And the kid said: Well, what do you mean? He said: Now you're growing. Remember something, you're more important than the ring. You're more important than the person that you love. You are enough for yourself. And it was just like somebody took a page out of a book of mine. And I thought: Isn't that wonderful that this is going out?

Knowing that no matter what appears, it's only a lesson. It's not going to do you in. We pick our lives, we pick our partners, we pick whatever lessons that we choose to learn. But judgment shows a weakness in the soul itself. Judgment, blame, victimization, all of these things show a lack of understanding of the principles of truth. So sit yourself down and say: From this point forward, I will no longer live in the space that I have been in that is causing me such sadness.

And children I know people who have more than enough abundance who God has blessed unbelievably who still struggle every day. So having funds, having good health does not mean it brings happiness. Happiness is a place that resides in your heart when you touch the Godforce within.

And Alfred, I think that will conclude the lessons for today.

Topic:  Fear
January 23, 2015

Hans:
Hello everybody, welcome, welcome, welcome. Our topic today is "Fear." You know, my friends, over the years we've dealt with fear in many different ways. But I've been getting a lot of emails and phone calls lately, people saying "is this going to happen, is this true?" A gentleman who I love and been part of our work for a long time called me and said I just heard someone say that the... I won't name the party but you'll just use your imagination. One of the political parties now said it's time to cut Social Security. He says I get my first check next month. He said am I going to be able to get that check? This fear that's out there now is an opportunity for all of you to practice what Alfred and I have been teaching you lo these many years. For me, a lot longer than Alfred's been alive. And fear is not real. Fear is an emotional place within you.

Remember when we did that show... oh, I don't know... 2 or 3 months ago and we did it from Mexico and it was entitled "Fear and Doubt Can Only Live in the House You Build." Some of you have seem to have gotten away from that reality. And I've noticed that in some of the questions over the last couple of months you can hear the fear that's creeping in. I want to say to all of you that says to yourself that you have a deliberate intention, an intention, to allow the fear in. Fear again can only live in the house that you build. And remember fear is its own food. It keeps reproducing itself over and over and over and each time fear reproduces itself it gets just a little larger and it sort of sticks itself deep into your soul. The only thing that we have to fear is fear itself, as Mr. Roosevelt said back in 1941.
But that is the essence of truth because fear is a manufactured product of your own consciousness. And you do things in a conscious mind that you would simply never do when you get into fear.

People have strange fears about... I'll give you one that you all heard me talk about - Ebola - and Spirit said to you: It's irrational. There's 7 billion people on the planet, 300 of them have Ebola. One person came to the United States with Ebola. We have 315 million people in the country...One. But the headlines were filled with Ebola this and one party's blaming the other party, it's a pandemic, it's going to sweep Europe and all... nonsense. And we told you nonsense at the time. And before that it was Putin and the Ukraine, and it was taking over the Crimea and Russia's coming to occupy Europe, and why isn't the United States going to war to protect... all this. Fear, fear, fear. And we have one group of people in this country who thrive, who literally thrive, on the possibility of fear. And many of these people think they're good, well-intentioned Christian people. But if they were, they wouldn't have the judgment, and they wouldn't have the fear either.

We have locked ourself into – in this country – into a fear based lifestyle. A fear if we don't get this education we won't be able to get a good job. Fear. If I want to make my dreams come true I need to leave what I'm doing and pursue them. Fear being: Well, what if I fail? What if that doesn't work? What if I'm doing the wrong thing? Never thinking that at that moment that fear is opportunity knocking. Opportunity knocking. Opportunity saying: Wait a minute, this is all made up. You don't have to do this. You are a unique example of God in human form. There are no limitations with the Godforce, I am not making that up. The same God that got me this far will get me to my destination, or my next part of my journey. But the whole country... turn on the TV's sometimes folks and go just to two channels - MSNBC and FOX. The difference between those two channels is so shocking to me. I'm not going to say one is better than the other. I'm talking about the message, people. The message. The things that people say. Remember back when during this current Administration all those predictions of the collapse of the United States, immigrants were going to take over the country, the economy was going to fail, everybody would loose their savings, there would be riots in the streets... I heard all of that. And suddenly out of nowhere - oh, well the economy is better - oh, well we are working on the middle class - oh, well no it wasn't quite as bad as we thought - oh, Ebola didn't sweep the nation. FEAR. Fear of an unknown.

Some years ago I was talking to you about fear and Spirit said to me, while I'm talking to all of you, They said: Well, explain something to me Hans. And this was one of my main Guides. And I said: What? He said: What can you be afraid of what you don't know if you don't know it? Think about it, folks. How can you be afraid of what you don't know if you don't know it? Because your mind always puts a dragon in the unknown. That's why. And when you do that you say to God I don't believe that you're there for me. You say to Spirit I don't trust that you're there for me. And somehow you manage to negotiate the freeways, and the restaurants, and getting kids to school, and the snowstorms... Somehow you manage to get from Point A to Point B.

I have a client that I've had for many, many, many years and he has to fly continuously around the world. And we're sitting doing a session in San Francisco once and he said: Hans, I find it so hard to believe. I said: How many miles did you fly last year? Well, he says: Well in excess of 200,000. I said: And you don't believe? And he thought for a moment. I said: How many plane flights did you take? He said: I can't calculate it. And I said: And you don't believe? You get in a cigar tin can and fly 38,000 feet in the air, through the atmosphere, you've taken how many flights, taken off, landed, and you're still here and you don't believe? Somewhere in you, you believe enough in the universe to allow yourself to get on that plane even though you know there's a possibility that plane could fall down. But you believe somewhere or you wouldn't get on the plane. So sometimes when we're busy thinking of what bad could happen to us we forget all the good that has happened and already is happening to us in this moment.

Have you noticed, children that fear is always about something that "might" happen? Might happen. This could happen, that could happen. And when you start down that path you become a victim of fear. Not a nice thing to say, I understand that. But you become a victim of fear. And as you become a victim of fear, it keeps feeding itself and reproducing itself and one day you wake up at 2:00 in the morning, 5:00 in the morning, and you're in a cold sweat because fear has even entered into your sleeping form causing you nightmares. So you have an opportunity in life to say: I choose to not live in fear and I choose that my God loves me so and will take care of me. I have nothing to fear but being afraid myself and doing this to myself because I'm perfect in my God's eyes and I'm taken care of. You have that choice. You can make that choice. You can say: I'm enough not to be afraid. All that I need, all that I desire is in front of me. I'm the only one that's blocking it. Okay? So there's no written agreement with you in your contract that says you are to be and remain in fear. That is all self induced and man-made.

The other day I heard something on the television that was shocking. They said in the 50 years that airliners have been flying to Hawaii from the West Coast, we're talking about hundreds of thousands of flights, we've never lost one. But the fear generated at the possibility is huge. Fear is something that you can control or it can control you. You have to decide which it is. When I was a very young man, for a very short period of time, I was afraid to be in crowds, I was afraid to be in the public. Because what I didn't realize was that I was clairsentient. Nobody told me. And I found out I was clairsentient so I was actually picking up sort of vibrations from peoples and crowds and many of you have had this feeling and I just wouldn't go because it was too scary. And people used to say he wouldn't go into a room where there were more than six people in it. And that was pretty much the truth. Now I go into a room with 1,000 people. It's perfectly fine. Because I've learned that my fears were irrational. There was no truth.

Have you ever noticed something that we do kids, have you ever noticed that if we're afraid of something we'll try to defend why we're afraid of it? With no rational real reason but we'll make one up? And here's a big one - well, it "could happen." It could happen. Yes, it could happen. But it's not going to. So why do we need for it to happen? By believing it is going to happen or it might happen. Why do we do that? Why don't we just say: I'm not afraid and I refuse to defend the fear that I have. I choose this day to be happy. I choose to be light. I choose to be love. If you don't have $5 to your name, you can say that. You can open that door. And when you open that door, everything begins to change, everything. Because the essence of God that flows through you has no fear. The essence of Spirit, which is your strength, has no fear. Remember what we always teach you - You cannot shine the dark in the light. The light will always prevail, in every situation. There are dark moments that humans put us into, out of our control - wars and what have you. But we can rise above that. We can rise above that.

Somebody asked me the other day what I thought of the movie "American Sniper." Now folks, I'm not going to get into that today. But it's a real good reminder why war is insanity in motion. Pure, unadulterated insanity, pointless, no reason. Why, why? I watched some people being interviewed and they said these words: Well, we have to have those people because the other ones are coming to get us. No. No one's coming to get us. We don't need snipers to defend ourself. We never have. We never will. Okay? So what I want you all to do today is to sit down and look at your Fear Book. Look and see where you are. Look and see are you allowing any fear, doubt, worry, or concerns to interfere with the flow of your life, the beauty. Remember something, oftentimes the humblest of people we know, the humblest of people we meet, are some of the happiest people we'll ever experience. Always. Because they know that their God loves them. Hands down, I've said this for years, some of the happiest people I've ever met in Mexico, of the poorest of citizens on the beach on a Sunday, the love, the family. They don't have any money but they've got a 6-pack and they've got food they can make and BBQ and the kids got a little pool to play in... They have a ball but they have no money to speak of compared to what we are used to seeing.

And I'll never forget that ride I had to the airport... the taxi driver. And he said to me: Can I ask you a question? I said: Certainly. He says: Why are Americans so afraid? Why? He said: They act as though something's coming to get them. I had to reach for an answer. But the real answer is because that's what we're taught - that something's coming to get us. Nothing, folks, is coming to get you. Get on with your life. Take the principles that Alfred and I have tried to teach you. Alfred, a little something from you on this subject.

Alfred:
The question is why is fear so important? Why is dealing with fear so important? It's because if you are fearful of doing things, you're not going to follow the advice of your Guidance. If your Guidance says, for example, here is this magnificent opportunity, we know that you have it in you to follow through with this opportunity, here it is, we're giving it to you, this is what you've asked to experience. If you're fearful, you're not going to follow through with that opportunity that you asked for and that your Guidance has provided you. Fear is going to keep you from the life you asked to experience. It's going to keep you from your abundance. It'll keep you from your happiness. I couldn't imagine a crazier life if the Other Side is working on your behalf and you say: No. That's a reason why fear is really important to deal with.

Hans:
Yes, to learn from. But have you ever noticed Alfred, that when you try to take fear away from someone they fight to bring it back?

Alfred:
Well, it's as I heard a long time ago from a couple of people I thought I respected and they said and: Well it's the devil you know or the devil you don't know. And I looked at them and said: You know you're holding onto a devil because you don't know what else there could possibly be?

(Hans Laughing)

Hans:
Yeah, it doesn't even make any sense. Honest to goodness, it doesn't.

Alfred:
Wait.

Hans:
Hello. Wait a minute here.

Alfred:
Isn't it welcoming the thing that you don't know because it's a thing that you know that's getting you into trouble and maybe by surrendering what you know and asking the Other Side for help...

Hans:
If you surrender Alfred, you'd be out of control.

Alfred:
Exactly!

Hans:
There's some fear attached to that one.

Alfred:
Yes. Being out of control so you can control the devil you know and keep what you have. Yeah, life as a human. So what we try to do is teach you to live as Spirit. Spirit is all about surrendering. Spirit is all about trust, faith and belief that what is coming for you is for your highest good. That is the way of Spirit. Fear is the way of humanness.

Hans:
Yes, absolutely. I think Alfred, that will conclude the lesson. I don't want to appear as beating them over the head.

Hans:
Hello everyone. Welcome, welcome. It's a beautiful afternoon here in Asheville, North Carolina. A little rainy and we're supposed to get a little cold, but I guess the whole country is cold. Today's topic is "Recover Your Joy." One of the first things that I recommend, one of the things that we taught Alfred and so many people through the years is: If you want to see something to make you bring joy into your heart, go stick your nose in a flower. If it's winter, and I think I've said this before, pull something up on your computer  and look at the flowers. Just go find some flowers. This will bring a sense of wonder to you. How did all of this ever happen? You know folks, we deny ourselves joy simply though our mind. But there is so much that we can do as simple spirits in human form to remember our joy in life. Nature, I believe is one of the best. You know when I look out of my windows here, we live on the side of a mountain here, and it's all full of trees and water. And when I look outside and even though someone might say: Well, there's no leaves on the trees. You know it's cold. You can find beauty in that. And I find beauty in the way the wind whistles through the trees. And there's still some leftover leaves and we have the squirrels and the raccoons and the chipmunks and every kind of bird you can imagine. And they're all out there and they're not wondering whether or not they're going to be happy or not. They're just worrying about eating, which makes them happy. Nature. Stick your nose in a flower. What do you think Alfred?

Alfred:
Well, what we're trying to do here is give you spiritual practices about helping yourself be happy. And one of the first that Hans is talking about is nature. And you'll notice during the entire show we're going to tell you ways to infuse joy into your life that won't cost you a penny. Or maybe a little bit. We bought a monstrous bag of really good dog food and that cost us about $25...

Hans:
At Costco.

Alfred:
At Costco of course. We're going to feed the raccoons, the possums, the squirrels, the occasional bear, for about three or four months and that cost us $25. I think I spend about $7 on bird food maybe once a month or so. So these are really inexpensive ways to make yourself be happy. And this is so against, like all of our teachings here are, against what they try to teach you on television. Which is: Buy, Buy, Buy. And we're saying: No. Here's a bunch of ways for you to be happy by doing really simple things.

Hans:
I'm going to jump out of our comfort zone for just a moment and say I was really very happy to see on the internet that there was a backlash among the buying public about going from having your Thanksgiving Dinner to running out to shop. Apparently that blew up in their face. That's a good sign for the country. You know, Alfred, one of the things that is really wonderful to do if you're feeling a little down? Go for a walk. Go for a walk and look. Look all around. Look up. Find something interesting. Move yourself out of your sense of despair. And remember that joy is always with you, at all times. You are not separate from your own joy. It's only your mind's perception. I remember Alfred when I told you to go outside and look at a flower. You remember that?

Alfred:
I thought he was crazy. I said: Flower? Hmm, yeah me city boy who lived in concrete for most of his life...

Hans:
Banker...

Alfred:
Yes.

(Alfred and Hans chuckling)

Hans:
Banker Consciousness... It was severe, folks.

Alfred:
Yes. So one of the teachings that I now pass along to my students is: If you've got nothing else to do and you want to make yourself feel happy, go stick your nose two inches from a flower. Pretty much I can guarantee you'll feel better.

Hans:
Yes. You really, really are going to feel better. Anything that breaks the mind's perception of the moment has the possibility to bring you joy. Now I know we all have days when there's an appearance that no matter what you do, it's not going to go well. You wonder why you ever got out of bed in the first place or could you just go back to bed. Break the perception of the moment children. That's what's important. Because the mind tends to want to concentrate when you're in lack of joy. It wants to concentrate on the problem. Whatever the problem it perceives it may be. But it wants to go there. It doesn't want you to not fuss. It wants you to suffer. Now Alfred mentioned about feeding the birds or feeding the ducks. These little things that you can do help to break the mind's grip on you and opens up the possibility for joy in your life. Alfred, how many animals are you feeding now do you suppose?

Alfred:
Let's see here. There's the chipmunks, there's the squirrels, there's various types of birds. We now have inherited a medium sized Woodpecker, a couple of bachelor Cardinals, all kinds of regular birds during the daytime. At night we've got possums, we've got the occasional bear, lots of raccoons. And of course The Princess Super Model, Bella.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
Yes. We can't forget about The Princess Super Model.

Hans:
Alfred, do we have a picture up on the website yet?

Alfred:
Bella?

Hans:
Yes, of Miss Bella.

Alfred:
I should do that actually.

Hans:
Yes. Well you know she said she wants to have an advice column.

Alfred:
Yes. Advice from The Princess Super Model.

Hans:
Yes. About...

Alfred:
You too...

Hans:
About how to raise your parents.

Alfred:
She does give it a good job.

Hans:
She does indeed. You know Alfred, another thing that one can do is have what I call "a giving mind," a giving consciousness. Look folks, you may not have a lot of money to sort of go around and buy everybody presents and to give a lot of money to different causes. But what you can do, since we know that thoughts are living things, you can serve through your mind. Spirit has always taught me that the thought and the intention is as good as the deed. So, if you could you would, is as good as the deed. It actually adds an energy to giving. So through proper loving thinking you are giving. Now this concept was difficult for Alfred in the beginning. But Alfred you actually have gotten that lesson pretty well.

Alfred:
Yes. And giving again is one of those things that you don't need to give money. You can give of yourself. It starts with the intention to serve...

Hans:
Yes, your thoughts...

Alfred:
... with the intention to be of service. That is most important. But what's really funny is, this is one of the true ways to be happy. We're taught again during the Holiday Season that to be happy you're supposed to "buy things" and we're saying: "That's not necessary." To give, you can simply be of service.

Hans:
And giving can come from a place in the heart. If you know that one of your friends is down, but they don't want to talk about it, and they're sort of hiding in themselves, you can just go to the Spirit and say: Please, I've done what I can do for this person, would you please help me to infuse the light into them and bring them the possibilities that may be available in their life? And then just let it go. That turns into an action from Spirit that brightens the quality of that person's life. I can't tell you how many times I have heard someone say: Oh my goodness Hans, I was so depressed and I've only talked to you a couple of minutes but I feel so much better. Giving of yourself, giving kind thoughts, giving hugs... There are times people when you're going to come across someone who, whatever the space they're in, they could be angry, jealous... they could not perhaps find a loving space from their parents in their heart who are just really suffering. Just a hug to that person or a quiet prayer for that person does an enormous amount of good.

Alfred:
Yes. It's basically if you're looking for a way to be happy, go find someone else to help and help them be happy. What you give out, comes back to you.

Hans:
Alrighty. Another thing Alfred that people can do is volunteer their time. There are just thousands and thousands of things out there, organizations and programs that need people for an hour a week, three hours a week, five hours a week. Whatever you can afford of your time. And Spirit sees this. And you are so blessed back because of this action of yours. So learning to give unconditionally, this is the key. I remember my dear grandmother and she had this enormous Christmas Card List and through the years I noticed that it got smaller and smaller and smaller. And I said to her: Grandma what's going on? You used to have like 800 people here. I think it's 300 now. She said: Well, I have a motto. I send people a Christmas Card and if I don't get one back I cross them off the list.  And I said: That's a strange way of living. She said: Well, it's my way. But you see she was giving conditionally, not unconditionally. Give your time. A very, very important one when bringing joy back into your life Alfred is to our old nemesis, our old friend here, the mind chatter. Learn to stop your mind chatter about what's in it for you. What do you think?

Alfred:
And that's one of our core teachings that we go through in The Intuitive Development Class that when you are "of service" and you're helping others, have no expectations, no opinions of the result of what's going to happen, if they're going to help you, or what's in it for you. Basically, expectations, opinions and judgments are some deeply seeded mind chatter. And what we try to teach you is...

Hans:
Yes...

Alfred:
... don't add any more to that which you already have. If you're going to go out and give, and volunteer and help, don't allow yourself to have any expectation of anything in return. Or that it's going to help the person, or how it's going to help the person. Just give.

Hans:
Give for the sheer sake Alfred.

Alfred:
So cut your mind chatter off at the pass...

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
... and say no expectation, no opinion, I'm just giving for the sake of giving and that's it.

Hans:
You'll find Alfred that your mind chatter does want to interfere with your giving sometimes.

Alfred:
Well, we've been trained that way.

Hans:
Well, I know people Alfred who give because it's expected of them. I know people who actually buy people Christmas presents for no other reason than wanting to be loved. That's not the way to be loved. How about sweeping their front porch? You know if you see an older person that you know has difficulty in doing for themselves a 15 minute gesture, 1/2 hour gesture on your part just works wonders. And I want everyone to know God is there for you. Hear it again: God IS there for you. No matter what the appearance. No matter what is going on in your life right now.  Maybe the holidays depress you. God is there for you. Maybe you feel alone for Christmas. God is there for you. All thoughts are living things. The God-force hears all your thoughts. It's an opportunity for you to practice unconditional love to the universe knowing that the God-force is flowing through you in that action. Okay? Alfred, I also believe that people should try to trust that God has your back.

Alfred:
Yes. And that has to do with fear. Another very difficult lesson for a lot of old souls that have been through some very interesting lessons is: this is going to come after me, that's going to happen to me, these lessons are going to continue, I have to protect myself. And what we try to teach to you is that: No, you have an army of supporters on the other side who are there helping you, guiding you. And as long as you tap into that guidance and surrender into the unknown, you want the unknown, you don't want what's in your head. Then you can trust that you're in the flow with the universe and there is nothing to fear.

Hans:
No.

Alfred:
And once you let go of fear and once you trust that you're in the flow, you're going to feel phenomenal.

Hans:
Absolutely. Knowing in your heart, that a non-judgmental God and a non-judgmental Spirit has your back, knowing they have no judgment of you. Knowing that during this time of the year, they draw near to you to remind you how much they love you. And opening yourself up and saying: I know my god loves me. Talk to Spirit, talk to God about letting go of your fears. Remember your fears are not real friends. It's your mind chatter telling you of something that "could" happen. Alfred, I know you do a lot of work with people who have fear. How do you approach this issue?

Alfred:
Well, you can think about Bella and her playing with her toy for example... How's that squeaky toy Bella, is that good?

Hans:
She wants to be heard.

Alfred:
Bella, is that you telling us you're still there?

Hans:
She is, indeed.

Alfred:
Well, we'll have to take a picture of the Super Model and put her up for you. Sweetness... Sweetness, dad is on the radio right now.

Hans:
I hope all of you are grinning as much as I am. She's got her little squeaky rabbit and she's right next to him and she's trying to make a statement about “don't forget I'm here.”

Alfred:
She wants to play. She's nudging my hand. That's just comical. That should make you feel good...

Hans:
Now there's a joyous thing. See – she's in joy right now because you just threw the rabbit.

Alfred:
Yes. Where were we? Oh, have faith and fear. You have two choices. In general spirituality is the opposite of western training, that a lot of us paid a lot of money for is, you're in control. You get what you negotiate. It's up to you. You are the individual who's responsible. That is stressful. Lord knows a lot of us have been there. And we're trying to tell you: There's an option. There is an option to that stress and it's called Letting Go. Going with the flow, having faith, trust and belief in the universe, in your God, in your guidance. And basically what we say is: If you want to be happy, then have faith, believe, let go and you'll realize, I guess God really does want me to be happy. If you want to do the typical human western thing of "I'm in control, it's up to me," well, if you're wondering why you feel bad, that's the reason.

Hans:
You know Alfred, having faith, having a deep seeded faith, a quiet, gentle understanding that your life is unfolding as it should. Turning off that mind chatter that tries so desperately to disconnect you from your joy, from your peace, from your possibilities. And it works overtime. Having a quiet understanding: It is the way it is supposed to be. I am unfolding into my bounty of love, my abundance, I am unfolding into my god's arms. And having a quiet knowing of this and allowing yourself to just feel the bliss and the power of God around you every day. There's never a time my friends, when you're ever disconnected from God, never ever a time when you're disconnected from God.

Alfred:
And that's where we're heading you towards. Feeling happy. Feeling joyful. Feeling bliss. Feeling peace in your life. You don't have to search for those things. We just gave you a 1/2 hour of different ways to have those things in your life in a matter of minutes for no, if very little money. Okay? And that is the key. That is the key that we try to teach you in so many of our courses is to “feel.” To feel connected to the universe, to feel the vibration and energy of the universal energy. To feel as Obi-Wan Kenobi taught Luke Skywalker, to "Feel The Force."

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
Teachings of Joseph Campbell...

Hans:
As Bella's currently doing. She's feeling The Force.

Alfred:
Yes. Bella, are you feeling happy right now sweetness?

Hans:
Yes.

(Hans and Alfred chuckling in the background)

Alfred:
And that is what we're trying to get across to you today is, do things that make you feel good. Like Bella is playing with her squeaky toy...

Hans:
And it makes all of us smile. I mean you can't help it. She's in this wonderful, blissful little world where she has her little stuffed rabbit and she thinks this is the best thing that ever happened to her. She has her dad here. She loves Alfred like herself. They have this wonderful relationship. And she knows that he's there for her. She knows it. Just like you need to know God and Spirit are there for you always.

Alfred:
And one final thing is when you're doing these things that we're describing, whether you're simply out in nature, whether you're volunteering, whether you're being of service, or whether you're just simply believing and having faith, take a moment and feel the energy. Feel the bliss, feel the joy enter into your soul. Take a moment and feel it enter into your life. Just take a moment and let it sink in.

Hans:
Absolutely. That a wonderful subject. What a wonderful topic, "Recover Your Joy." And Alfred I believe that will conclude the lesson for today.

Alfred:
Good evening everyone. Welcome to Modern Day Mysticism being broadcast on The World Puja Network. Tonight's topic of Physical Healing is going to be pushed aside so that Hans can talk to you about the events of today from a spiritual perspective. Without further ado, I present to you the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good evening everyone. I do want to say it is good to be with you this evening on this rather somber evening. People ask me: Why does God allow these things to happen? For those of you who maybe have not have turned on the news today, a gunman walked into a school in Connecticut and shot to death 20 children, 6 adults, and his mother. Various types of guns he had, which apparently he got from his mother. And people ask me: Hans, how can God let this happen? God has nothing to do with this. God as Spirit gave us every single tool we need to manifest happiness and joy and compassion in our life. Unfortunately my perdition of many years ago when I said the United States will become the most violent nation in the industrialized world is becoming to come to pass. How did we get here? What happened along the way that so caused this mental trauma in someone? What happened?

For over 40 years I've been trying to teach, with Spirit, that our society is built on disenfranchising people, tearing them down. It is not based on bringing people up into the light. It's not based on compassion. We tell our children, without meaning to, from our mouth that they are not enough. We do this by telling them that someday they too could be somebody. That if they get the right kind of education, they too can be somebody. We rarely ever say to our children: You are enough, you are perfect for me. Just who you are, where you are in this moment, is perfect for me. Don't worry, your place in society, your place in life is already assured just because you're who you are. And I want you to understand my child, that who you are and your behavior are two different things. That if I can show you and teach you who you are, your behavior will follow in line.

Instead, we have set up a society where sports is a primary function of children. What do we do when we produce sports? We say it's healthy. Healthy for who? The exercise is healthy, yes. But on every playing field, somebody looses. They weren't quite good enough you see. And we're so invested in winning. By the way winning is something we never get to keep. So why is it so very important, what are we saying when we say I win. It says somebody else is less than we are? That somebody didn't quite have the psychical stamina, or the emotional smarts, to compete with us? The United States has stooped to 17th in Education in the world. We're about the same in Health. We have people running around killing children...children, people. How is this possible?

Look at the media, look at our elections, look at the things we say to each other, listen to what our children hear. Years ago, years ago, some of you may remember this if you are old enough, a gentleman  adopted an entire classroom of children in the inner cities in New York. All children of color, every one of them. These children came, most of them from impoverished homes, some of them one parent, struggling mothers, disinterested fathers, or fathers who didn't know how to be a parent and had lost their wife through illness... And he took these  children, and he said, I watched him being interview on 60 Minutes - I'm going to show them they are certainly good enough. And he offered the children, after meeting with their parents, and said if you will stay in school I will pay for all of your clothes, your books, your education, all the way up until you graduate from high school. And then if you wish to go on, I will pay for your college. Everybody laughed at this man because everybody knew he would have a poor record on this particular thing because everybody had the mind-set that poor children have no initiative. And they followed this man, and they followed these children, and every one of them graduated from high school. Every one of them went on to some sort of formal education. Every one of them bettered themselves. Why? Because he told them they were enough and he believed in them.

Folks, we have just been given a prediction by a very important Think Tank that says in just 19 years the United States of America will be a 2nd rate nation. 19 years. Folks, how is that possible? It's possible because we are turning out some of the worst students in the history of our own country. I watched some children in Cuba in high school being interviewed a year ago and they asked them where Havana was - 49% of the children did not know. They asked them where Paris was - most of the children had no idea what they were talking about and one girl said she thought it was somewhere up in Canada, wherever that was. There comes a time when all of us, all of us, have to get off this merry-go-round of disconnect. This disconnect is killing this nation. I'm an older person now and where we have come from from where we are is shocking...shocking. We don't "care".

As a society we should have individuals in every community across this nation called The Hope Squad and these people should be meeting with parents. It should be mandatory that parents who love their children find out what the level of learning capability their child has. And if the government has to pay for it, the government has to pay for it. Who cares? Because these children down the road will add immensely to the treasury of this nation. I heard something this evening, I was watching a man on the Mitchell Manoff Show and he said after a 5 year study from Columbine he learned that 6% of our teenagers are hard core depressed, manic depressed. 6%. How is that possible? You say, oh it's only 6%. It's the 6% that are killing people. It is not a small number. We are leaving our children behind because we don't care enough to give them the very best. We are a nation of 310 million people. What has anyone done today to help a child? What? I speak personally because personally as a child nobody cared whether or not I could learn or couldn't learn. Nobody bothered to find out. It was only God that helped me, only Spirit that carried me through until today. Because nobody cared. I was considered stupid, I was considered dumb, I was considered "unteachable" was the term. A Junior High School Teacher said to me: You're unteachable, you're just stupid. And I never forgot that. I don't think that he would say that today, do you?

In each child, each and every one of us, each child not just white children, each of our children holds a nugget of God in their heart. It is our job, no matter what religion we are, to find that nugget and to remind the individual, no matter how poor, that someone out there cares enough. We have children selling drugs, children murdering people... Because we don't care. I'm not speaking to you my dear, dear, dear family of friends. You know where I'm going. I'm talking as a nation. We actually have a political party that ran on cutting our education budget which is in shambles now. But not our defense budget. We've got... I'm here in Palm Springs today...right over here in the Arizona desert we've got 3000 of the best tanks in the world we can't use because we have no use for them. 3000! We have 40,000 deliverable nuclear bombs and no enemy to drop them on. We have troops in 50 nations. We still have 500,000 troops in Europe. I don't know how many troops in Japan. We're supporting this enormous infrastructure. We became a country terrified of everything. And yet, in truth we don't need a third of it. Have never needed a third of it. That money should be taken. We should have concerned parents, concerned state, city and local individuals who are monitoring our children, what do you need Bobby, what do you need Sara? Talking to parents, being parents for children who don't have parents...by caring, programs. There are so many people trying to help. But we need this now on a national basis. Our children are massively depressed. You have to start at the beginning and listen to Spirit when it says: Each and every one of your children is a baby angel in human form. We are not here to tell them that something they're going to do will make them who they are. We're telling you that they bring who they are to their endeavor. We have to stop calling people "losers". We have to stop this continuous bickering between the two parties in this country. We have to stop it. Or we're going to wake up one day with the most uneducated group of children in the industrialized world...we're close now. That breaks my heart.

Every child born in this country should know that someone, somewhere cares. Every child born in this country who does not have a parent or parents who care enough should know that they have a resource. And people say: Oh well yes. There is this program and that program... These are individual programs, some state and local, but are not funded the way they should be funded. We should have an association that says: I care...I care. I care about the direction about my country. I care about the children in my country. I'm going to do something to help turn this around. And I want each and every one of you to find just one program that you can contribute a dollar to. Just one. You can send it anonymously so you don't get all those letters for donations. I understand that. I want every one of you to care. I am an animal enthusiast from the start. We have all these programs out there trying to save animals. We have all these programs trying to save the earth when our children are being murdered. Hello? Anybody listening to this old man? Our children are dying. Killing themselves.

The suicide rate in this nation is appalling. The suicide rate from people coming back from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are the highest in the history of our country. Because nobody cares that we sent them to do something that was totally and absolutely unnecessary. And these young boy and girls saw their friends blown apart, maimed... There are actually organizations right now on television showing you these people asking for donations. It breaks my heart. I probably will not live long enough to see the turn around, but I know we have the power to do it. And I know it my heart that you care. It isn't about money, it's about intention children. It's about intention. These magnificent questions that you send into us every week move my heart, they move Alfred's heart. You can see our intentions, you all know who I am. You hear me speak, you know where I come from. And I'm saying to all of you there's got to be a way.

I met two of the most spectacular human beings I have ever met in my life, Alfred and I did when we did this seminar for Michael and Rafael Tamura in Mount Shasta in August. These two ladies approaching their 80's have rescued over a million children. How did they do that? Well after the Korean War they went out in a really bad typhoon and saw a bunch of children huddled in front of this little run down house. And they asked what they were doing there. And the interpreter said: Oh, these children are not wanted you see. Because their fathers were soldiers and Japanese society at that time would not accept them. They had no place to go, no food. Well Sara and Yvonne took these children back to the hotel, who said you may not bring these children in. Well they didn't know Sara and Yvonne very well. They were both actresses. And they were on a USO Tour. They got them into the hotel and they got them fed. And today they operate a world-wide service for children. I'm going to ask Alfred to put up their website name so that you might go and look at what they're doing. If these two ladies have devoted over 55 years to making a difference, can't we all? Why do we have to admire somebody else doing it? Can't we volunteer our time to do something? It doesn't cost us any money to volunteer our time. Open your hearts.

All of you are so kind and decent and I thank you for listening to me. This today, as you can plainly hear, shook me to my core. I have seen too much of this. I've seen too much of this. And all I ever hear when it comes to gun control is you can't, you can't take away one of our amended rights. Someone needs to tell me "how" an AK-47 assault rifle is okay to have. Someone has to explain it to me. Alfred saw something and I think this is what he said - something about they gave the average deaths from handguns from countries of around the world  - I think the highest was West Germany at 10 per 100,000. We were at something like 10,000. We shoot each other every day. We kill each other every day. We complain about countries like Mexico. We complain about how violent it is. But we always manage to overlook our own. What I'm saying to all of you is you can make a difference through your intention even if you say Hans I have no money. Money is not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for prayer and intention. That's what I'm asking for. Because it makes a difference kids. We brought down the Soviet Union, we brought down the Berlin Wall without firing a shot.

What we now have to do is say: We're asking for the power of intention to begin to impact our country in such a way as we begin to come together, we begin to help our children, we begin to see how great our beautiful country really is. Because we need to care about ourselves now. I know I will get emails. I understand that. And I know some of you won't understand why I'm so upset. A great nation, Winston Churchill once said will always be judged on how it's treated it's poorest of citizens. Are we treating our humblest of citizens, our children, the way we should? I don't think so. I speak from my experience when I tell you absolutely nobody cared about me as a child and I'm not kidding you. My parents basically did not know what to do nor did they seek help. But I was blessed because some people came forward who are not my parents. So nobody who should be responsible for me got me here. People who didn't even know me did. I've asked Alfred not to speak on this subject tonight because it's too painful for him as well. People came forward to move Alfred to who he is today. I was just one of several.

We are, as a society, greater than our problems. We are, as a nation, better than the way we're behaving. How many more of these enormous tragedies do we have to go through before we stop the debate about guns don't kill people? When are we going to say how did our children get this way? And start looking and say you know what, if we get together, we can fix this thing. If we were to spend, as a society, 10 minutes for every 1 hour we spend watching and participating in sports alone, we could correct this problem. We would have enough money. I can hear people saying, not you guys of course, but people will say well why should I care about somebody else's kids? Because they're kids. Why should I care whether or not a family in the inner city doesn't have a meal tonight for their children? Why should I care? Because they're hungry.

There are some things that a great nation must always address and I believe it is the well-being of the humblest of citizens. We are a nation unique unto history in that we are a conglomeration of many races, many religions, many ideas. So we have all the greatness that we need. All we need to do is have the principle and the determination and the compassion to make a difference. I don't know how many people will listen to this but it will be quite a few thousand. And they'll probably wonder boy, he's rather emphatic on this. Where does he get this from? It's because he lived it. Let us give 10% of the love we give to our animals and use it in consciousness to set intention to add a light and to light a fire that says: Enough...enough already. Enough. Enough about not caring. Folks, we spent over 1 billion dollars on this last election. It is estimated the next one will cost about 3 billion. Do you have any idea how much food that would buy for hungry children, for people in need? Our priorities are out of line to our reality. And once we begin to understand that... This is what I love that happens by working with Spirit, they cry when they see how much we have and all this inter-fighting and anger, resentment and one party this and one party that... Let us all rise above the appearance of this sadness and make a pledge to ourself that no matter what we do, we will set an intention that our intention be used with God's intention and good people all over at this holiday time to make a difference. A difference that will bring a light that shines for all of us as we move forward. And may we please all bless the children and the adults who perished from this. We know they're in Spirit, we know they're fine. But their parents don't, their husbands and wives don't. The mother of this victim doesn't. Let us pray please for all of these people. Hold them in your prayers. I will too. I will set my prayer group to this task tonight. I thank you all for listening to me and in no way did I mean to bring anyone down. It's just time that I said something about this.
