Topic: Being Grateful for Thanksgiving

November 23, 2015

HANS:
Hi, everybody. Whenever we get ready to do a show, I always ask Spirit, “Where do you feel people are for this particular week? What areas do you feel we need to look at?” This week, They said, “Thankfulness.” I said, “Well, I thought we may have covered that earlier in the year,” and They said, “Yes, but people have short memories sometimes.”

You know, folks, one of the great pains in the world, one of the great sadnesses in the world is when you feel you have no control. When you feel you’re totally at the whim of somebody else, that you have no choices. Then, we begin to look back at the very smallest of things, and when we start to put the smallest of things together we get a larger picture. Being thankful for the fact that you have choices is enormous for Spirit, and enormous in your life.

We can all sit around and have a long face and moan and groan about our plight, but the truth of the matter is that over 90% of us, maybe even 92 or 93%, still have choices. There are billions and billions of people whose only choice is to survive, to eat—that’s it. We have choices. We have a system that is set up to help us with our choices. If this doesn’t work, we have a system that will put us back in school to learn a new trade. If we’re hungry, we have a system that will feed us. We have these enormous options, but sometimes I think we get used to them. Ever notice that, Alfred? We forget that we do have good choices.

ALFRED:
Taking things for granted. So what we want to do is we want to start by taking gratefulness, gratitude, up to a spiritual level. Whenever you’re down—

HANS:
And we all get that way.

ALFRED:
Looking at the details, remember, that it’s human-ness you’re trying to understand, contemplate, ask the question why this is getting involved. Spiritually speaking you look at things in more of a holistic viewpoint. So, if you’re looking at gratefulness such as—well, I met this person or that particular thing happened, or a little check entered my life—it’s fine. But there’s another way to look at gratefulness, which is a larger picture, such as, “I’m grateful for this incarnation. I’m grateful for my guidance for being there for all the things that I don’t see. I’m grateful for another day, another opportunity to have another human experience.”

We’re saying, instead of looking at the little things, look at the bigger picture to say, “Every single thing in my life, whether I believe it or not, I have choice.”

HANS:
For instance, let’s say that this year you’re going to have to be by yourself, and you hear your mind saying, “All I’m going to have is a TV dinner and the TV.” Do you know that you can take that TV dinner and go visit anywhere in the world on your television set? You can go and look at festivities, go and look at oceans, the Caribbean, you can look at great operas, ballets, all of that. You have a choice that moment to say, “What a perfect Thanksgiving because I’m with me. I’m thankful for me. I’m thankful for who I am, and next year that turkey dinner will be a buffet, huge.” Being grateful, as Alfred was saying, in the moment people. Just being grateful in the moment.

I’m grateful every day I wake up and my feet touch the ground. I’m grateful. Yes, I have arthritis, I have colitis, and I have diabetes, and I have aches and pains. However, they never get the better of me. Because I remember where I came from and where I am today, and I am grateful for all of those lessons. I’ve been teaching Alfred this for a long time. Sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn’t. Being grateful for every lesson that you came across enriches your soul.

Truly it does.

ALFRED:
Can you be grateful for the difficult times in your life? There was a huge monumental shift in my life is when I became grateful for the ‘interesting’ childhood that I had.

HANS:
The ‘challenging’ childhood…

ALFRED:
The challenging childhood that I had…

HANS:
See that? You just shifted the energy.

ALFRED:
Because every old soul, if you’ve had a challenging childhood, chances are you’re an old soul. So if you’ve had a challenging childhood, regardless if you understand it, regardless of whether you’ve dealt with it, regardless if you’ve been able to let it go yet, try being grateful for that huge part of your life because it made you who you are.

HANS:
And that’s important, what Alfred’s bringing up here. These challenges, those times you fall flat on your face, all of that are the paving stones to support you. But remember the road is always uphill, not as a challenge but as a reward. You see? The challenge is always uphill. Each time you overcome your obstacles, each time you overcome your challenges, you’re a little bit above where you used to be.

ALFRED:
And that’s something to be grateful about. Now, how about our next topic? How to be grateful.

HANS:
That’s a toughie. It sounds nice. Stop listening to the mind chatter that says you’re a victim. You’re not a victim, people. You’re living a life you chose. So did I, so did Mr. Alfred, although he debates me on this subject—but we did. We chose the life we wanted to experience for the value of the lesson our soul needs to learn. So there is a contract between you and Spirit to what you wanted to learn and how They would present the lessons to you.

ALFRED:
In other words, by far the majority of challenging things in your life were by design. Not all of them. Sometimes you just bump into a mean person.

HANS:
Sometimes mean things happen to good people.

ALFRED:
By far the majority of challenging things in your life you asked for.

HANS:
I just heard someone say, “I’m one of those people that bad things happen to.” At that moment, you have a choice to say, “You know what? I didn’t deserve that. I know that happened, but I’m going to take it and rather than be a victim of it, I’m going to use it as a growth tool. I’m going to put myself forward of that. I’m not going to let that bother me anymore.”

And folks, for some of you—I’ve been getting emails asking, “Hansie, should I go home for Thanksgiving?” Don’t ask me. Ask your heart. Do you really want to go home for Thanksgiving? Or do you want to not be part of the dysfunction? And then you come back to me and say, “Well Hansie if I don’t go, then they’ll all talk about me.” Who cares?  Remember that one, Alfred?

ALFRED:
There’s a tough one. Treat your family like any other soul out there, which is truth. Everybody is exactly equal in God’s eyes. Everybody has a soul, everybody has to be incarnated, everybody asked to have lessons, everybody’s going through their own stuff. Treat every soul the same way. Treat every soul with compassion, and dealing with your family will be a little easier.

HANS:
And remember something. All those people are wondering what you’re saying behind their back. If you let your family know that you’re coming, because you really want to come, but you’re not available for gossip, or in-fighting, where somebody sits at the table, and you get flack—stay home!

Stay home. Go to a movie. Be grateful for you. You’re the greatest gift you’ve got! Be proud of who you are. Find a friend who may not be doing anything for Thanksgiving and go to the movie together, go have coffee, do something.

We’ve got ourselves organized into “we have to do this” this mentality. No, you don’t.

ALFRED:
But if you do decide to go home for Thanksgiving, practice your energy protection exercises, don’t let your vibration drop, don’t let what other people say interfere with your energy and your peace—your flow. Make sure what’s most important is how you feel, not how they feel out there. Do not get involved with the drama. If anybody is having a bad day, say “Bless you.” What’s most important is you keeping your vibration up—not fixing your family.

HANS:
And not letting your family try to fix you.

ALFRED:
That’s not your problem.

HANS:
But what you can do if you don’t want to go is send a beautiful card, call on the occasion, or the day before. Let them know that you’re part of them, but you don’t feel you can make it this year. Don’t feel obligated to have to go to Thanksgiving dinner. That’s something that’s human-ness, not who you are. If you want to go—go. If you don’t want to go—don’t go.

For some of you, you’ve been saving all year, your nickels and pennies in order to buy a plane ticket. Only to find out the airlines have raised the plane tickets and they’re going to raise them some more. So what you want to do is find something around you—if you have a kitty, if you have a dog, a goldfish, a parrot, if you have a best friend, plan on spending some time with them, and enjoy yourself.

No matter what the weather is, what the temperature is—keep it warm in your own heart.

It’s an interesting time of year for a lot of people. I think the holiday times, Alfred, tend to call up for many people, sadness. It calls up dysfunction, what didn’t work and all that. What we’re trying to say is—it’s okay. That was then. This is now.

Wouldn’t you rather kiss your puppy on the forehead, than have to explain why you’re not the manager in your new business that you just started a year ago? Wouldn’t you rather just kiss your puppy?

And that will conclude the lesson for today, folks.

Topic: Listening to Spirit
March 28, 2015

HANS:
Hi everyone. Today's topic is "Listening to Spirit." As you know, one of my great teachers. of course. is Yoda. And one of the things that he said to Skywalker was: Don't try. Do or don't do. But don't try. Now why did he say that? Because in the 'trying' is a human mind intention, you see? And when the human mind intention gets involved... You can set your intention but then go away from it.

That is going to allow you to not sit there and wonder: I wonder if I'm going to get anything. I wonder if it's going to work today. I wonder what They're going to say today. All of that, that is coming out of the humanness 'need to know,' is actually, Alfred, interfering with the direct channeling abilities.

ALFRED:
Yes. And that's something that we've been discussing, especially with our Spiritual Circle Members who send in questions about how to receive guidance, is that any aspect of humanness, including simply asking questions, is interfering with your ability to hear. Because asking questions means you in your human self think you know what the question is and your inviting your humanness into the channeling session.

HANS:
Yes. And that is when you fail yourself, people. Okay? Sitting down to blank out the space that holds the mind chatter, frees up a space for Spirit to begin to enter into a light conversation with you. Now I say 'light' because they won't come in and hit you over the head with a board... normally. They did with Alfred. But that was the only way we could get through to him.

But for most of you, a quiet understanding that 'it already is so,' you see. It already is so. There's never a time you're NOT in communication with Spirit, people, never. One of the problems that I have found, Alfred, with people trying to channel is the 'trying' aspect. It literally gets in the way of the 'I Am' principle - that says 'I already am.'

ALFRED:
It's very, very true that trying is an aspect of humanness.

HANS:
Yes.

ALFRED:
That means you're trying to be something that you're not already. And one of the easiest principles of Spirit to remember is that you already perfect.

HANS:
Yes.

ALFRED:
Everybody questions: Okay, well why do we come down if we're already perfect? But simply saying you are already perfect... If you all want to be in spiritual form, if you wish to communicate with Spirit, start from the basis that you are perfect and that you need nothing and that everything is effortless.

HANS:
That's right.

ALFRED:
So if you are channeling correctly, it should be absolutely effortless. Which means you need to tell your humanness not only to be peaceful and quiet but to absolutely do nothing besides be a simple, blank slate and effortlessly connect to the Other Side.

HANS:
Yes, absolutely... absolutely. And you know folks, when you say: I'm trying. What are you saying? You say: I'm not. And that's the message that you're sending to Spirit. I know I'm not in touch with you but I'm trying to be. Wrong message. They won't respond to that message. By having a heart that says: I am, daily, in touch with Spirit. I would like to sit down and feel that love right now. You hear the difference, Alfred? I would like to sit down and hear and feel the love. I'm not 'trying' to be in touch with Spirit.

There are certain things... for instance Circles or Seances where there is a Medium present to enact a certain vibration that allows people on the Other Side to speak to people on This Side. That's one thing. But you yourself are never out of contact with the Spirit - Never. But your mind chatter disconnects you from your peace and your space of loving partnership with Spirit by this constant trying  to understand it. What They're saying? All of this... This causes you a problem,  definitely.

ALFRED:
Especially things like: What are my Guides names?

HANS:
Yes.

ALFRED:
How are They related to me? Does that not sound like trying to understand it? And what we try to say is: There is nothing to understand. If you are trying to understand the names of your Guides, how it's going to work, what it's going to sound like, what types of information They're going to be giving you, you are inviting your humanness into the session.

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
You are putting yourself in limitation by trying to understand it.

HANS:
I didn't know who the names of my Guides were for many, many years. I called them 'Friend.' Yes, Friend I feel you. Yes, Friend I hear you. That type of thing. I didn't say: Well, I'll only believe if you give me a name. And, Alfred, that's what a lot of people do. They're waiting to get a name as if the name qualifies the reality.

ALFRED:
Exactly. They say: Okay, if I understand, if I get a signal, then it means I'm going in the right direction. No. That's a human approach. And again, if you try to approach receiving guidance and channeling the Other Side from a human approach, you are inviting limitation, you are inviting interference, you are inviting separation from the Other Side. It is by letting go of the mind chatter, letting go of thought, letting go of understanding, letting go of trying... Simply going into the most peaceful place, blank place, possible, that it's going to work.

HANS:
Yes. And it will work for all of you. Remember, the less you 'try' to channel, the more you will. The more you 'try' to channel, the less you will. Because the word 'try' gets in your way. It's the mind chatter that says I need, I'm wanting to believe... all these things. But it doesn't say I trust and believe.

When I sit down, folks, for over 35, 40 years, I went out into the world somewhere to see 8 people a day, 6 and 7 days a week. For years and years and years and years and years. I never one day ever sat down and said: I wonder if I'll be able to get anything today. I had what they call a 'knowing'. A simple knowing. And the knowing was 'it already was.' I wasn't separate of that truth because I walked in it.

We gave a class recently, if you remember Alfred, at Agape International, on Walking in Two Worlds and showing people how it is that they can believe that they already are receiving information from the Other Side and then there's the appearance of reality on This Side. Notice how I say 'appearance.' But everyday that you get up... When you're asleep you're already on the Other Side. When you get up the energy from the Other Side doesn't say: Oh, bye. I'll see you next time. No, the energy follows with you into your daily life. And learning to access says: I don't try, I do.

ALFRED:
So on that note, Hans, let's just simply summarize. This human world is the exact opposite of what it's like to be in Spirit.

HANS:
That's correct.

ALFRED:
So if you wish to communicate with, be as Spirit, do the exact opposite which is do not try, do not understand. Okay?

HANS:
That's why Yoda said: Do or don't do. But don't try.

ALFRED:
But you are to be in a blank space. Understand that you are already perfect. That you need nothing. You do not need to understand who or why or what or how.

HANS:
No... no.

ALFRED:
It is from that place of nothingness that there is everything. It is from that place of nothingness that you separate from your limitation. It is from that place of nothingness that you invite Spirit to enter.

HANS:
And Alfred, I can hear our folks out there right now saying: Well, wait a minute. I need to know! No, you don't.  And Alfred, that's very hard... what you just gave hard. It's absolute truth but it's very hard for the human mind to accept that it is not in control.

ALFRED:
That's exactly the point.

HANS:
And to believe, Alfred, into nothingness. You used that word several times. That's spiritual truth.

ALFRED:
If you want to understand and if you want to be in control, that's what you're going to get. If you wish to talk to the Other Side, then you need to be the opposite of understanding and control.

HANS:
Yes. Absolutely the opposite.

ALFRED:
It is a spiritual truth. Hope that helps. A really complicated topic but...

HANS:
It's a tough one, Alfred.

ALFRED:
It is.

HANS:
It gets the people's minds a'runnin' quite well. But just know, always, that there's never a time, gentle people, where you are not in touch with Spirit. And I think Alfred, that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: The Law of Unconditional Love
December 12, 2014

Hans:
Hello everybody. What a beautiful day today and we're so blessed to have God in our life. Today I want to talk about the Universal Law of Unconditional Love. This is a really difficult lesson because in our world, as we go through our daily lives doing all the things that we have put in motion to do, we come across situations, we come across people, circumstances, things, that just, may I say, just tick us off, make us upset, press our buttons... a friend says something that you thought was unkind, or a parent calls and tells you they were disappointed in you about something. And it's just really hard to just say: You know what, I love them, I bless them, I release my judgment of this. And folks, when we look at the news and hear all the things that are going on every day, it's hard to remember that we're in a world of illusion that has been created by mankind. There is no reality to what is going on. It's just different people's illusions of what should be. And of course when you turn on your television, what you have is a bunch of pundits, a bunch of people who surmise they know something, that they're going to tell you how it really is. But all it is is their opinion. Nothing more kids, nothing more. Simply their opinion. So the wonderful thing about unconditional love, if we put it in our heart, is that we begin to view life a bit differently. Okay? A bit differently. We say: Oh wait a minute, I'm not going there because I'm going to get a judgment in there and that's not what I want to do. That's not where I want to be. And so, when we learn to filter the appearance of reality, we stop being bothered and hurt by it.

I had a friend who called me recently and she was very, very concerned because she thought I had said something. What she heard was that I was unhappy with her or displeased with her. And I had her go back and read the email that she sent me about her hurt. And I paused here for a moment. I said: Where you're saying this, where this is coming from, what is that for you? Did you hear me say those words? And she said: No, I didn't. But I thought the way you had written it was that you were displeased with me. I said: Well, I'm a very big boy now and I'm capable of telling you if I'm displeased with you and I wasn't. But I wonder why you're coming from that place. Where in you, does what I was saying, turn into a condemnation? And so we sat down and we had a look at it. And what she saw was through her childhood, she had learned to view things a little bit askew because she couldn't figure out what was going on. And so her mind chatter simply made up what she perceives the reality might be.

And there's an old saying that you have heard me say for many years that says: You see what you look for, you know. And if you're slightly depressed, or there's a dark cloud hanging over you and you're walking around with it, you will see depressing things children. You will see it. If you're slightly depressed, nothing you're doing will seem like it fits, seem like it's real. But if you stop for a moment and you say: From this day forward, I'm deciding not to listen to anything but unconditional love. I'm going to give it and I'm going to be available for it. This brings up another problem. Because, Alfred, haven't you noticed that so many people find that maybe they're not good enough for unconditional love?

Alfred:
And it's really those aspects of mind chatter, of humanness, that take us away from our spiritual true selves. It's when we are as Spirit, expressing unconditional love as our natural state, but what really limits us is the mind chatter, the humanness of fear, of judgment, of doubt. Okay? It's those areas or basically any aspects of humanness that limit us from vibrating, from being as Spirit and from expressing unconditional love effortlessly.

Hans:
You know Alfred, in the Spirit there is no such thing as depression. There is only unconditional love, not conditional love. So we actually, Alfred, come from, our resource actually, is unconditional love.

Alfred:
Yes, it's our mind chatter, our humanness that puts conditions on the love. And the definition of unconditional is there is nothing. And that is true spirituality is there is no judgment, there is no opinion, there is no fear, there is no doubt. And it is by removing those things, by doing the inner work, that you're more able, more freely able, more effortlessly able to express unconditional love.

Hans:
Absolutely. You know Alfred, for many years one of my primary teachings has been: What if you found out that nothing was wrong? Absolutely nothing. That all the pain comes out of your mind's perception of what is real. Not what is real. Because the only reality is love. The only true reality is God. And the unconditional love that you have from the Spirit World is unconditional at all times. So any time you say to me: Well, God must not love me or why isn't God protecting me... All this, all of these things, come out of a place of conditional love which is what your mind programs you to see.

You know I had one parent who said to her daughter: You know if you loved me you wouldn't treat me this way. Well, that child grew up that way. She grew up thinking she wasn't capable of giving unconditional love. I said: No, that's just only your mother's perception of who you are and what you're doing and saying. If we all go back and we look at how our behavior from 20 or 30 years ago, we're not that same person. As we have grown, the Spirit has grown with us and brought us forward. But they keep pointing out to us unconditional love. Unconditional love. This is the key of life. Unconditional love. Not being offended by someone else's thoughts. Not offending somebody else by our thoughts. Any time we start to develop a negative thought, we need to stop for a moment and say: Wait a minute. I don't really know this person. I'm judging their behavior. But then, am I judging them as well? I don't know them. I don't know where they've come from. Native American peoples used to say: Judge no man unless you walk a mile in his moccasins. Very true. I taught you for years folks that who somebody is and their behavior are always two different things.

Folks, spiritual opinion as given to me is: That all is perfect. All is in perfect right order. Nothing is wrong. But our mind chatter is so active in pointing out this individual, or that situation, and then trying to comprehend somebody else's thinking, which is of course totally impossible. Deal with your own emotion. Alfred used to say, back in the day, when he was beginning to develop himself... One of the things Spirit told him to do was if you want to see perfect and unconditional love, go look at a flower. Remember that Alfred?

Alfred:
Absolutely and it is the separation of your true self from that which limits you. It is functioning as who you truly are that opens you. It is removing the mind chatter that has to do with fear, with judgment, with opinion, that allows you to more freely express yourself as who you truly are – as a loving spirit. These are the paths that we try to help you with in order to be happy here, more blissful, more loving on a daily basis.

Hans:
Every time I see someone who I think is in a difficult situation, I always say to Spirit: Bless that person please. Surround them in pure white light. Help them to understand whatever lesson there may be in this for them. And bring all that they need to them that they might discover who they are and to see past this illusion for themselves. That's really, really important. I tell the story of a young lady that I met may years ago in Carmel, California and she had wanted, very badly, to design fabrics I think, some of you have heard this before, and every time she designed a fabric, it looked like a batik from Bali. And one day her grandmother, she was 17 then, sent her to see me and in the process of her reading I said: You know you have some connection with Bali. And she said: Funnily enough, you know I've always wanted to go there and she said: I'm not certain why. And I pointed out that she had some connection with artwork and she said: Well I like to do batiks and she said: I feel that there's some connection but I don't know what it is. And I said: Well you won't discover it until you go to Bali. Well she says: Well I have no money for that Hans. I think I have $600.00 in my savings account. Right now that isn't going to happen, but it could happen one day perhaps.

Well the grandmother heard the reading. Because in those days I used to tape them. Anybody remember taping? And she heard that and when the granddaughter, for her 18th birthday, the grandmother gave her a ticket and a two week all expense paid trip to Bali. And the girl came to see me and what Spirit said to her was: Keep your eyes and your ears open with no perception of finding anything. Just go and be. Well ,she did and she still lives there today. She married an Australian boy. She began to design fabrics and her fabrics sell at Neiman Marcus... all the big stores, all around the world. And she's very famous. And she sent me an email once and she said: All I needed to do was be quiet and accept the unconditional love that God was giving me at that moment. And she said: That's what I've tried to give back. She went not knowing.

Alfred:
Isn't that one of the hardest lessons Hans? Is just not to “give” unconditional love but be wiling to “accept” unconditional love?

Hans:
That's what I was trying to say earlier, Alfred. Absolutely. It's much easier to give than to receive. Because when we receive our little boy and our little girl inside us is saying: Uh, I wonder why they're giving me this. Do I deserve this? What are they up to? I didn't ask for this. And starts to go through a whole series of mind boggling mind chatter. When you just should say: Thank you. Oh my gosh, this is wonderful! Have you ever had a little child, Alfred, give you a flower or give you a little painting that they have drawn for you? It's huge. It's huge.

Alfred:
Yes, it's not the size or the value of the present. It's that they gave it to you with love.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
And a lot of times you'll hear that about owners or cooks of restaurants is that they're not serving food, it's that they're serving love one plate at a time.

Hans:
Absolutely, absolutely. And that's what they're well known for is individual love. I knew a restaurant in Los Angeles and it's name was King's Foreign Land and it was a very upscale
Oriental restaurant. Mr. King was a wonderful guy, he came from Hong Kong. But when you sat down, the owner would come to you and bring the chef and they would say: What are you looking to taste tonight? How are you feeling? What would you like us to do? They never had a menu. And they would create these incredible meals based on what somebody was feeling that night. That is unconditional love. And if there were a little more of it in this world we would all be better off. You see folks, unconditional love means you have no judgment. How's that for a tough one?

I know some of the most beautiful people in this world who still suffer from judgment – the appearance of what's wrong. Nothing is wrong, it's our perception of what's going on. Alfred fought me on this one for quite a long time. I said: That's only your perception. And he would get... being a Sicilian, he would get very crabby. He says: No, I can see it's hurt... My dad was the same. He used to say to me: Where is my God? Why is my God letting this happen to these people? Filled with love, filled with compassion, but he couldn't understand pain. Okay? He couldn't understand pain. I'll tell you one thing about the lesson of unconditional love, Alfred, the reason I'm cutting this short a little bit today is because people are really thinking about what we're saying.

Alfred:
Yes, there was a lot in that lesson. There really was.

Hans:
There really was.

Alfred:
I mean it is not about loving. It is about allowing yourself to let go of judgment, let go of opinion, let go of fear, so that you can naturally be a loving soul, a loving spirit.

Hans:
That's right.

Alfred:
It's like if you're trying to be happy, don't try to make yourself happy.

Hans:
No.

Alfred:
It's you can make yourself happy by giving. Then you will find true happiness.

Hans:
Yes, absolutely.

Alfred:
Okay, so what the lesson really has to do with is shedding those things, those mind chatters, those ways of being, those habits...

Hans:
Let me go back and talk about perception. We need to shed perception. Replace it with unconditional love. Even, Alfred, even if it doesn't mean any sense to you at the moment, as long as you begin to practice it, that's what you will begin to draw towards you and that really makes the Spirit smile. And that will conclude our lesson for today.

Alfred:
Good evening everyone. Welcome to Modern Day Mysticism being broadcast on The World Puja Network. Tonight's topic of Physical Healing is going to be pushed aside so that Hans can talk to you about the events of today from a spiritual perspective. Without further ado, I present to you the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good evening everyone. I do want to say it is good to be with you this evening on this rather somber evening. People ask me: Why does God allow these things to happen? For those of you who maybe have not have turned on the news today, a gunman walked into a school in Connecticut and shot to death 20 children, 6 adults, and his mother. Various types of guns he had, which apparently he got from his mother. And people ask me: Hans, how can God let this happen? God has nothing to do with this. God as Spirit gave us every single tool we need to manifest happiness and joy and compassion in our life. Unfortunately my perdition of many years ago when I said the United States will become the most violent nation in the industrialized world is becoming to come to pass. How did we get here? What happened along the way that so caused this mental trauma in someone? What happened?

For over 40 years I've been trying to teach, with Spirit, that our society is built on disenfranchising people, tearing them down. It is not based on bringing people up into the light. It's not based on compassion. We tell our children, without meaning to, from our mouth that they are not enough. We do this by telling them that someday they too could be somebody. That if they get the right kind of education, they too can be somebody. We rarely ever say to our children: You are enough, you are perfect for me. Just who you are, where you are in this moment, is perfect for me. Don't worry, your place in society, your place in life is already assured just because you're who you are. And I want you to understand my child, that who you are and your behavior are two different things. That if I can show you and teach you who you are, your behavior will follow in line.

Instead, we have set up a society where sports is a primary function of children. What do we do when we produce sports? We say it's healthy. Healthy for who? The exercise is healthy, yes. But on every playing field, somebody looses. They weren't quite good enough you see. And we're so invested in winning. By the way winning is something we never get to keep. So why is it so very important, what are we saying when we say I win. It says somebody else is less than we are? That somebody didn't quite have the psychical stamina, or the emotional smarts, to compete with us? The United States has stooped to 17th in Education in the world. We're about the same in Health. We have people running around killing children...children, people. How is this possible?

Look at the media, look at our elections, look at the things we say to each other, listen to what our children hear. Years ago, years ago, some of you may remember this if you are old enough, a gentleman  adopted an entire classroom of children in the inner cities in New York. All children of color, every one of them. These children came, most of them from impoverished homes, some of them one parent, struggling mothers, disinterested fathers, or fathers who didn't know how to be a parent and had lost their wife through illness... And he took these  children, and he said, I watched him being interview on 60 Minutes - I'm going to show them they are certainly good enough. And he offered the children, after meeting with their parents, and said if you will stay in school I will pay for all of your clothes, your books, your education, all the way up until you graduate from high school. And then if you wish to go on, I will pay for your college. Everybody laughed at this man because everybody knew he would have a poor record on this particular thing because everybody had the mind-set that poor children have no initiative. And they followed this man, and they followed these children, and every one of them graduated from high school. Every one of them went on to some sort of formal education. Every one of them bettered themselves. Why? Because he told them they were enough and he believed in them.

Folks, we have just been given a prediction by a very important Think Tank that says in just 19 years the United States of America will be a 2nd rate nation. 19 years. Folks, how is that possible? It's possible because we are turning out some of the worst students in the history of our own country. I watched some children in Cuba in high school being interviewed a year ago and they asked them where Havana was - 49% of the children did not know. They asked them where Paris was - most of the children had no idea what they were talking about and one girl said she thought it was somewhere up in Canada, wherever that was. There comes a time when all of us, all of us, have to get off this merry-go-round of disconnect. This disconnect is killing this nation. I'm an older person now and where we have come from from where we are is shocking...shocking. We don't "care".

As a society we should have individuals in every community across this nation called The Hope Squad and these people should be meeting with parents. It should be mandatory that parents who love their children find out what the level of learning capability their child has. And if the government has to pay for it, the government has to pay for it. Who cares? Because these children down the road will add immensely to the treasury of this nation. I heard something this evening, I was watching a man on the Mitchell Manoff Show and he said after a 5 year study from Columbine he learned that 6% of our teenagers are hard core depressed, manic depressed. 6%. How is that possible? You say, oh it's only 6%. It's the 6% that are killing people. It is not a small number. We are leaving our children behind because we don't care enough to give them the very best. We are a nation of 310 million people. What has anyone done today to help a child? What? I speak personally because personally as a child nobody cared whether or not I could learn or couldn't learn. Nobody bothered to find out. It was only God that helped me, only Spirit that carried me through until today. Because nobody cared. I was considered stupid, I was considered dumb, I was considered "unteachable" was the term. A Junior High School Teacher said to me: You're unteachable, you're just stupid. And I never forgot that. I don't think that he would say that today, do you?

In each child, each and every one of us, each child not just white children, each of our children holds a nugget of God in their heart. It is our job, no matter what religion we are, to find that nugget and to remind the individual, no matter how poor, that someone out there cares enough. We have children selling drugs, children murdering people... Because we don't care. I'm not speaking to you my dear, dear, dear family of friends. You know where I'm going. I'm talking as a nation. We actually have a political party that ran on cutting our education budget which is in shambles now. But not our defense budget. We've got... I'm here in Palm Springs today...right over here in the Arizona desert we've got 3000 of the best tanks in the world we can't use because we have no use for them. 3000! We have 40,000 deliverable nuclear bombs and no enemy to drop them on. We have troops in 50 nations. We still have 500,000 troops in Europe. I don't know how many troops in Japan. We're supporting this enormous infrastructure. We became a country terrified of everything. And yet, in truth we don't need a third of it. Have never needed a third of it. That money should be taken. We should have concerned parents, concerned state, city and local individuals who are monitoring our children, what do you need Bobby, what do you need Sara? Talking to parents, being parents for children who don't have parents...by caring, programs. There are so many people trying to help. But we need this now on a national basis. Our children are massively depressed. You have to start at the beginning and listen to Spirit when it says: Each and every one of your children is a baby angel in human form. We are not here to tell them that something they're going to do will make them who they are. We're telling you that they bring who they are to their endeavor. We have to stop calling people "losers". We have to stop this continuous bickering between the two parties in this country. We have to stop it. Or we're going to wake up one day with the most uneducated group of children in the industrialized world...we're close now. That breaks my heart.

Every child born in this country should know that someone, somewhere cares. Every child born in this country who does not have a parent or parents who care enough should know that they have a resource. And people say: Oh well yes. There is this program and that program... These are individual programs, some state and local, but are not funded the way they should be funded. We should have an association that says: I care...I care. I care about the direction about my country. I care about the children in my country. I'm going to do something to help turn this around. And I want each and every one of you to find just one program that you can contribute a dollar to. Just one. You can send it anonymously so you don't get all those letters for donations. I understand that. I want every one of you to care. I am an animal enthusiast from the start. We have all these programs out there trying to save animals. We have all these programs trying to save the earth when our children are being murdered. Hello? Anybody listening to this old man? Our children are dying. Killing themselves.

The suicide rate in this nation is appalling. The suicide rate from people coming back from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are the highest in the history of our country. Because nobody cares that we sent them to do something that was totally and absolutely unnecessary. And these young boy and girls saw their friends blown apart, maimed... There are actually organizations right now on television showing you these people asking for donations. It breaks my heart. I probably will not live long enough to see the turn around, but I know we have the power to do it. And I know it my heart that you care. It isn't about money, it's about intention children. It's about intention. These magnificent questions that you send into us every week move my heart, they move Alfred's heart. You can see our intentions, you all know who I am. You hear me speak, you know where I come from. And I'm saying to all of you there's got to be a way.

I met two of the most spectacular human beings I have ever met in my life, Alfred and I did when we did this seminar for Michael and Rafael Tamura in Mount Shasta in August. These two ladies approaching their 80's have rescued over a million children. How did they do that? Well after the Korean War they went out in a really bad typhoon and saw a bunch of children huddled in front of this little run down house. And they asked what they were doing there. And the interpreter said: Oh, these children are not wanted you see. Because their fathers were soldiers and Japanese society at that time would not accept them. They had no place to go, no food. Well Sara and Yvonne took these children back to the hotel, who said you may not bring these children in. Well they didn't know Sara and Yvonne very well. They were both actresses. And they were on a USO Tour. They got them into the hotel and they got them fed. And today they operate a world-wide service for children. I'm going to ask Alfred to put up their website name so that you might go and look at what they're doing. If these two ladies have devoted over 55 years to making a difference, can't we all? Why do we have to admire somebody else doing it? Can't we volunteer our time to do something? It doesn't cost us any money to volunteer our time. Open your hearts.

All of you are so kind and decent and I thank you for listening to me. This today, as you can plainly hear, shook me to my core. I have seen too much of this. I've seen too much of this. And all I ever hear when it comes to gun control is you can't, you can't take away one of our amended rights. Someone needs to tell me "how" an AK-47 assault rifle is okay to have. Someone has to explain it to me. Alfred saw something and I think this is what he said - something about they gave the average deaths from handguns from countries of around the world  - I think the highest was West Germany at 10 per 100,000. We were at something like 10,000. We shoot each other every day. We kill each other every day. We complain about countries like Mexico. We complain about how violent it is. But we always manage to overlook our own. What I'm saying to all of you is you can make a difference through your intention even if you say Hans I have no money. Money is not what I'm asking for. I'm asking for prayer and intention. That's what I'm asking for. Because it makes a difference kids. We brought down the Soviet Union, we brought down the Berlin Wall without firing a shot.

What we now have to do is say: We're asking for the power of intention to begin to impact our country in such a way as we begin to come together, we begin to help our children, we begin to see how great our beautiful country really is. Because we need to care about ourselves now. I know I will get emails. I understand that. And I know some of you won't understand why I'm so upset. A great nation, Winston Churchill once said will always be judged on how it's treated it's poorest of citizens. Are we treating our humblest of citizens, our children, the way we should? I don't think so. I speak from my experience when I tell you absolutely nobody cared about me as a child and I'm not kidding you. My parents basically did not know what to do nor did they seek help. But I was blessed because some people came forward who are not my parents. So nobody who should be responsible for me got me here. People who didn't even know me did. I've asked Alfred not to speak on this subject tonight because it's too painful for him as well. People came forward to move Alfred to who he is today. I was just one of several.

We are, as a society, greater than our problems. We are, as a nation, better than the way we're behaving. How many more of these enormous tragedies do we have to go through before we stop the debate about guns don't kill people? When are we going to say how did our children get this way? And start looking and say you know what, if we get together, we can fix this thing. If we were to spend, as a society, 10 minutes for every 1 hour we spend watching and participating in sports alone, we could correct this problem. We would have enough money. I can hear people saying, not you guys of course, but people will say well why should I care about somebody else's kids? Because they're kids. Why should I care whether or not a family in the inner city doesn't have a meal tonight for their children? Why should I care? Because they're hungry.

There are some things that a great nation must always address and I believe it is the well-being of the humblest of citizens. We are a nation unique unto history in that we are a conglomeration of many races, many religions, many ideas. So we have all the greatness that we need. All we need to do is have the principle and the determination and the compassion to make a difference. I don't know how many people will listen to this but it will be quite a few thousand. And they'll probably wonder boy, he's rather emphatic on this. Where does he get this from? It's because he lived it. Let us give 10% of the love we give to our animals and use it in consciousness to set intention to add a light and to light a fire that says: Enough...enough already. Enough. Enough about not caring. Folks, we spent over 1 billion dollars on this last election. It is estimated the next one will cost about 3 billion. Do you have any idea how much food that would buy for hungry children, for people in need? Our priorities are out of line to our reality. And once we begin to understand that... This is what I love that happens by working with Spirit, they cry when they see how much we have and all this inter-fighting and anger, resentment and one party this and one party that... Let us all rise above the appearance of this sadness and make a pledge to ourself that no matter what we do, we will set an intention that our intention be used with God's intention and good people all over at this holiday time to make a difference. A difference that will bring a light that shines for all of us as we move forward. And may we please all bless the children and the adults who perished from this. We know they're in Spirit, we know they're fine. But their parents don't, their husbands and wives don't. The mother of this victim doesn't. Let us pray please for all of these people. Hold them in your prayers. I will too. I will set my prayer group to this task tonight. I thank you all for listening to me and in no way did I mean to bring anyone down. It's just time that I said something about this.

Hans:
Hello everybody and welcome to the show. It's with great laughter in my heart that we picked this topic. "We" being Spirit and I. Actually Alfred and I were in Lowes, and Spirit said to me this morning: I want you to talk about the value of "nothing". And Alfred looked at me and he said: What? I said: That's what they say - a show about “nothing”. I said: Yes, a show about “nothing”. And it reminded me of when Jerry Seinfeld decided to do a show about “nothing” for NBC. It's kind of on that vein.

Do you know how much power there is, children, in "nothing"? Think about it a minute. If there's nothing going on, if you bring yourself to a loving safe place of nothingness, quietness... Not full of what happened yesterday...disappointment that somebody didn't call you...You know, I wonder if they're going to call me, I wonder if my mother's still mad at me, I wonder whether or not my boss likes me... What if there's "nothing" in that space?

You know when I do my readings, and I think for those of you who have been with us a long time know this little story. But when I teach you, the classes or I do readings for people, I kind of draw and doodle on a legal pad. And when I get to a certain point in the class or in the reading, I turn the page over and at first I say: Would you rather have this page, which their life has been written on this page here, or I say: Or would you rather have this page? And I show them the next page which is blank. Over 75% - 78% of the people will choose the page that's already written on.

The value in the "unknown" is enormous. The value in "nothingness" is enormous. But our mind chatter tells us there must always be “something” in the space of “nothing”. Because if there's “nothing” in the space of “nothing”, something could be wrong, something might go wrong. What if nothing ever comes in to the nothing space...what if? A show about "nothing"...a class. If you sit in a class and the teacher says: This class is about "nothing" today, the mind chatter that starts to run in that class is deafening.

If I say to a client when doing work with them: You need a space of "nothingness", most clients think that's strange, and most clients think that something bad could happen to them without being in control of the "nothing" space. So we have been taught, throughout our life, that there has to be something running through our mind at all times.

Alfred, you know of this through your teaching. What have you found?

Alfred:
I found that one of the most amazing spiritual paths is through "nothing". And it's the basis of meditation, it's the purpose of meditation actually, is to get to a point of "nothingness". And what we do through Hans' Intuitive Development Class and my Automatic Writing and Advanced Channeling Class is to take you beyond "nothing". To use the basis of "nothing" as a point where you can go far beyond what you could ever possibly comprehend. Now what does that mean? "Nothing" means there's no humanness or as little humanness as possible.

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
And that's what we're talking about. I'm sure Hans is going to bring up the "mind chatter" and the purpose of not having mind chatter.

Hans:
Which is the opposite of having mind chatter is nothingness.

Alfred:
Exactly. And that's what we're talking about here is "nothing" is actually a spiritual path. Because through "nothing" you're actually disconnecting through everything human. With not having anything human, you've got "nothing".

Hans:
Thank you Alfred. Doesn't it sound funny? What are you going to do today? Nothing. Well certainly you have to do something because you have time. So you must do something. No, I think I will do "nothing". I think I will just "be". Well what does that mean? Aah, there goes the mind chatter again. It doesn't matter what it will be, it simply is. This sounds a little bit like a round-about but what I want you to understand is "perfection in human form is nothingness". In other words, being "in" the world but not "of" it.

While Alfred was taking his welding class, I happened to turn on the news, and I had sworn off the news a year and a half ago. And living in Mexico for as long as I have, we don't get American news except for CNN and then it's the International CNN. And I turned this on and I heard all of these people spreading all of these rumors about Ebola. One person, from Africa, stopping off in Texas brought the virus with them, unknown to them. Passed the health test before they left Africa. And that has grown from 1 person infected, out of 335 million people, into a plague on the United States is about to happen. Shame on the President for not knowing this...and oh, he said it wouldn't be a plague... It's not, it's 1 person. It could be as many as 20 "if" all the people that person came in touch with got the virus. At that point, Guidance says to me: “Nothing”. Got it, turned it right off.

Went to the Discovery Channel and just sat for a moment looking at some glaciers that were melting and trout that were coming up a stream. Nothing going through my mind...nothing. Have you ever sat in the park, and let's say the park is very empty, very quiet, and you see a squirrel coming along looking under leaves, looking for where he may have buried one of the nuts from this season's crop...but nothing else was going on in your mind just watching the squirrel. You ever heard of that adage: I lost track of time. Isn't that wonderful? Alfred, would you like to comment on that?

Alfred:
It's through "nothing" that you can find happiness, joy, bliss... It's why when you go out into nature and you stop thinking about human things - work, stress, what you have to do - that you're happy. That you actually can connect to God and Spirit better when you're in nature. Because you go to a state, or as much as possible, a state of "nothingness" releasing humanness. That's why when you sit there and think of nothing and watch the squirrel try to dig up a nut, you're in bliss. You're thinking that doesn't make any sense.

Hans:
Absolutely.

Alfred:
Exactly. It's not supposed to make sense. If it makes sense, you're thinking back to humanness which goes back to stress. We don't want that. We're telling you, if you're looking for happiness and bliss and God and Spirit and the Universe and Oneness, start at "nothing".

Hans:
It already "is". You've often heard me tell the story of the Buddha and the dandelion. And looking and the dandelion and looking at it and he doesn't say anything. And finally one of the devotees says to him: Gurudev, we fail to understand the value in this lesson. And he takes the dandelion flower and he points it to the group of people and he says: That it is is sufficient. It doesn't need to be explained. It was a metaphor. For when something "is", a tree "is", the squirrel "is" - it doesn't need to be analyzed because it's already bliss. It's simplicity itself. Truth is simplicity itself. But the more you try to "understand", the more you confuse the bliss of your moment.

I have a friend who still is my friend but he's now in Spirit. And he used to say when he came upon something that was rather large, he would just turn to his internal child and say: Well here's something interesting. Let's see if we can play with this today. No matter how negative something may appear...because what he had learned of his 83 years, what he had learned was: Nothing is as it appears to be. Everything is an illusion that we or someone else has created. You see folks?

So when you finally get that "nothingness", being peaceful... I have a lady that I know who goes whenever she can...she lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and whenever she can she goes up to one of the Reservations, and one of them has this beautiful little stream, and she's found this wonderful rock to sit on. And she goes and she takes a little cushion, and she sits on the rock and she just does nothing but sits there. No thinking, no reading a book, just "be in the moment". And she's done this for a very, very long time...over 40 years. You too can learn the value of "nothing".

If I have a pitcher and I want to spoon out water, okay? At some point, I will run out of water. When you refill the water pitcher, you're saying: I trust. So in that moment you're not asking yourself why you're filling the watcher pitcher, what is  all that about... In the moment you're going to refill the water pitcher and it's automatic. When you breathe, you're not saying: Gee, I wonder if there will be another breath. Nothing. Sitting in a place of "nothing", there is peace. Our minds are so constructed to think that there's something wrong with silence. We, and this is part of the book that's coming out for us that I'm currently doing, we have been programmed to go from one subject in life to another. And in the process of doing that we tend to validate the current pain by a pain from the past. Rather than say: I have had a wonderful life up until now. I choose to just "be" for a little bit. I'm not going to be fearful, I'm not going to be angry, I'm not going to wonder, I'm simply going to sit and "be". You see?

Alfred, any comments?

Alfred:
What we're trying to get at is through the search for something, the search for knowledge, the attempt to understand, the attempt to think things through - you're actually disconnecting yourself from Spirit, from God, from the Universe. You're actually in limitation because you're focusing on using your human self, whatever that "something" is, in order to get through life. And what we're trying to tell you is if you're looking for your connection to God, if you're looking for your connection to Spirit, it is through the letting go process in an attempt to get to "nothing" that  you'll find clarity, you'll release the limitation. And it is through the release of the limitation that you can be who you truly are. You're not piling anything on top of your perfect soul that already has everything it already needs. You're not piling on limitation to yourself. It is through the "nothing" that you'll find clarity.

Hans:
Thank you Alfred. You know we are taught throughout our lives, and you know this is one of my pet peeves, we are taught throughout our life to be somebody. We can be somebody. This makes the Spirit World insane. They didn't send nothing people here. No nothingness came here. You already were. You are someone and you're resonating in that moment because that moment is where you are supposed to be. And when children get fractured, and adults get fractured, is when others keep reminding them that they're not enough, reminding them that they should try harder, reminding them they should do better. That gets locked into that child's soul and never goes away. And they keep trying harder and trying harder. And I want all of you who are thinking: Yes, but isn't that good? Nnnooooo. Because it's taking you away from the essence of who you are. Find out who you are and see what you would like to have the experience of in life. That's what we should be teaching our children. Oh yes, they need to know their ABC's and math and all of that. I understand that.

But the greatness of the soul does not lie in what it does. The greatness of the soul is in who it is. And in that is a place of quiet knowing which is "nothing". What if you found out today there was no place you needed to go, nothing you needed to accomplish, that just who you are in this moment is enough for God, you see? Nothing. And once you find a safe place in "nothing", everything in your life will change. Everything. Yes, there are human things that come up again. Because we put them in motion. Our parents, our grandparents, our employers, our employees, have put these, what they perceive to be deeds, in motion.

I was talking with Alfred the other morning at breakfast and we were just talking about how he got to where there was a shift. And he said to me: You know, it was like an internal voice that came out of my chest that was telling me something but I wasn't paying attention. Alfred, you tell the story please.

Alfred:
Hans, that's the story of when I left my career in Banking. There was just some internal voice inside my chest that said: Okay, you've had enough of this time to leave your job and do something meaningful. And I said: Who are you and what's meaningful? Well, a year later, after its still yelling at me and raising its voice saying you have to quit what you're doing and leave and just go back to California and we'll explain it to you later. Finally I got to the point of stopping arguing. I just resigned and left and came back to the U.S.

So what's the point of all of this? If you want to be led by Spirit, if you want to receive Guidance, if you want to follow your path, sometimes you need to l”et go”  of what you're holding onto no matter how important, how successful, that you think it is in order to allow Spirit to enter your life. Sometimes you have to go to "nothing" and we really go over this in great detail in our Video Class, The Void. I think it's about 6 hours of the "good" that can come from when things are taken or when you release them from you.

Hans:
So what I want everyone to really get from today's show is having the appearance of "nothing" is a huge step towards your spiritual growth. Very quietly buried in the "nothing" is a trust. You're actually saying I trust that even though I'm not orchestrating my life at this moment and I choose to simply be quiet and be peaceful, I know Spirit and God have my back. You see? That's what they see. They see: Ah, she believes. Ah, he gets it.

Remember that old adage that says: When you finally get it, when you finally see it, when you finally hear it, doors appear where previously there were no doors. The reason was you were standing in front of the door and thought it was a wall. You didn't know it was a door. "Nothingness" allows you to see a blank page as beautiful.

When a painter looks at a blank canvas, they envision something in the "nothing" and they create that. But they're not forced to. That comes from a place of quiet knowing and quiet trust, that I know out of "nothing" will come what I need to hear, will come what I need to know and will teach me. I know that. So when you turn loose of what you perceive is important, Spirit presents another door and I can't tell you the thousands of people through these many, many years in service who have said to me later: It all happened when I let go. I was holding on to something because I thought that was what my safety was. I didn't believe that Spirit, God would take care of me.

For many people, Alfred, going to a place of "nothing" is extremely fearful. Because for all they say that they believe, for all they work at believing, inside of them, they're still trying to control the outcome of the "nothing".

Did you ever have that experience?

Alfred:
That's a really good point Hans and as you've seen over the many years for those who have been following us, a huge part of the path of spirituality is merely a perception change. What the brain has been taught, especially in western civilization is that more is better, gathering is good. It's security. You can be a better person by getting more, whatever more is. And what we're trying to tell you in terms of changing your perception is that if you wish to lead a spiritual life, “nothing and less are better”. And we're saying not just "less" is better, but "nothing" is actually much, much, much better.

Because that means you've gotten to a point where you've released so much that you're in clarity, you just "are". I just "am". You have no judgments, no opinions. You're in a constant state, or as much as possible, a constant state of meditation, of connection with Source Energy, your vibration stays high as much as possible.

So in this perception change that we're asking you, you really need to look at and say: what do I value more? Am I a human that occasionally has spiritual experiences or am I a spirit, a soul, that happens to have some human experiences? And if your focus is being a soul, then we're telling you look at changing your perception that "less" or even "nothing" is a spiritual path.

Hans:
Very good, Alfred. You know my friends, one of the great things that Alfred brought to my practice was a simple statement that I had, for many years known about but hadn't incorporated it into my teaching. Now, let me backtrack here. People say well how can we go someplace and do someplace if we live in "nothingness". That's not what Spirit is saying. If you believe, and you say to them: In my life ahead I would like the feeling of... And let it go - whatever it is. And you go back to "nothingness" because you believe at that point that Spirit heard you. You believe they're going to organize. When you say to Spirit: In my new life I would like the feeling...I would like to feel so and so... That's something you can do. That's something you can tell them that you want. You can also tell them you would like the experience of whatever you want. But before you get to that place, you have to first believe. And the belief comes through "nothingness", getting to a place where you stop the control of all that's going on and are hurt by all that's going on. Okay?

Alfred, anything more on this subject today from you?

Alfred:
What we're trying to tell you about is the huge, immense value of "nothing". And again this is a massive perception shift compared to what most of us have gotten beaten into us that acquiring stuff is better. What we're trying to tell you is acquiring stuff, thinking about stuff, trying to make yourself better in the western way may take you away in an opposite direction if you wish to lead a spiritual life. All of Hans' harping over the many years about mind chatter is all about releasing, letting go, and every single spiritual methodology that there is, everyone will always talk about surrendering, trust, belief. And it is through the of letting go, and getting to a state of "nothing" that you could have true meditative experiences, that you could have true bliss, true joy in your life, and that's what we're trying to tell you is the value, spiritually speaking, of "nothing".

Hans:

Yes. Alright, Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for the day. And I thank you for your wonderful input. I thank all of you for being patient. What I want you all to do is listen to this show several times, and I want you to write down bits and pieces from it that you think affect you and what you'd like to look on. Okay?
