Topic: Being Grateful for Thanksgiving

November 23, 2015

HANS:
Hi, everybody. Whenever we get ready to do a show, I always ask Spirit, “Where do you feel people are for this particular week? What areas do you feel we need to look at?” This week, They said, “Thankfulness.” I said, “Well, I thought we may have covered that earlier in the year,” and They said, “Yes, but people have short memories sometimes.”

You know, folks, one of the great pains in the world, one of the great sadnesses in the world is when you feel you have no control. When you feel you’re totally at the whim of somebody else, that you have no choices. Then, we begin to look back at the very smallest of things, and when we start to put the smallest of things together we get a larger picture. Being thankful for the fact that you have choices is enormous for Spirit, and enormous in your life.

We can all sit around and have a long face and moan and groan about our plight, but the truth of the matter is that over 90% of us, maybe even 92 or 93%, still have choices. There are billions and billions of people whose only choice is to survive, to eat—that’s it. We have choices. We have a system that is set up to help us with our choices. If this doesn’t work, we have a system that will put us back in school to learn a new trade. If we’re hungry, we have a system that will feed us. We have these enormous options, but sometimes I think we get used to them. Ever notice that, Alfred? We forget that we do have good choices.

ALFRED:
Taking things for granted. So what we want to do is we want to start by taking gratefulness, gratitude, up to a spiritual level. Whenever you’re down—

HANS:
And we all get that way.

ALFRED:
Looking at the details, remember, that it’s human-ness you’re trying to understand, contemplate, ask the question why this is getting involved. Spiritually speaking you look at things in more of a holistic viewpoint. So, if you’re looking at gratefulness such as—well, I met this person or that particular thing happened, or a little check entered my life—it’s fine. But there’s another way to look at gratefulness, which is a larger picture, such as, “I’m grateful for this incarnation. I’m grateful for my guidance for being there for all the things that I don’t see. I’m grateful for another day, another opportunity to have another human experience.”

We’re saying, instead of looking at the little things, look at the bigger picture to say, “Every single thing in my life, whether I believe it or not, I have choice.”

HANS:
For instance, let’s say that this year you’re going to have to be by yourself, and you hear your mind saying, “All I’m going to have is a TV dinner and the TV.” Do you know that you can take that TV dinner and go visit anywhere in the world on your television set? You can go and look at festivities, go and look at oceans, the Caribbean, you can look at great operas, ballets, all of that. You have a choice that moment to say, “What a perfect Thanksgiving because I’m with me. I’m thankful for me. I’m thankful for who I am, and next year that turkey dinner will be a buffet, huge.” Being grateful, as Alfred was saying, in the moment people. Just being grateful in the moment.

I’m grateful every day I wake up and my feet touch the ground. I’m grateful. Yes, I have arthritis, I have colitis, and I have diabetes, and I have aches and pains. However, they never get the better of me. Because I remember where I came from and where I am today, and I am grateful for all of those lessons. I’ve been teaching Alfred this for a long time. Sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn’t. Being grateful for every lesson that you came across enriches your soul.

Truly it does.

ALFRED:
Can you be grateful for the difficult times in your life? There was a huge monumental shift in my life is when I became grateful for the ‘interesting’ childhood that I had.

HANS:
The ‘challenging’ childhood…

ALFRED:
The challenging childhood that I had…

HANS:
See that? You just shifted the energy.

ALFRED:
Because every old soul, if you’ve had a challenging childhood, chances are you’re an old soul. So if you’ve had a challenging childhood, regardless if you understand it, regardless of whether you’ve dealt with it, regardless if you’ve been able to let it go yet, try being grateful for that huge part of your life because it made you who you are.

HANS:
And that’s important, what Alfred’s bringing up here. These challenges, those times you fall flat on your face, all of that are the paving stones to support you. But remember the road is always uphill, not as a challenge but as a reward. You see? The challenge is always uphill. Each time you overcome your obstacles, each time you overcome your challenges, you’re a little bit above where you used to be.

ALFRED:
And that’s something to be grateful about. Now, how about our next topic? How to be grateful.

HANS:
That’s a toughie. It sounds nice. Stop listening to the mind chatter that says you’re a victim. You’re not a victim, people. You’re living a life you chose. So did I, so did Mr. Alfred, although he debates me on this subject—but we did. We chose the life we wanted to experience for the value of the lesson our soul needs to learn. So there is a contract between you and Spirit to what you wanted to learn and how They would present the lessons to you.

ALFRED:
In other words, by far the majority of challenging things in your life were by design. Not all of them. Sometimes you just bump into a mean person.

HANS:
Sometimes mean things happen to good people.

ALFRED:
By far the majority of challenging things in your life you asked for.

HANS:
I just heard someone say, “I’m one of those people that bad things happen to.” At that moment, you have a choice to say, “You know what? I didn’t deserve that. I know that happened, but I’m going to take it and rather than be a victim of it, I’m going to use it as a growth tool. I’m going to put myself forward of that. I’m not going to let that bother me anymore.”

And folks, for some of you—I’ve been getting emails asking, “Hansie, should I go home for Thanksgiving?” Don’t ask me. Ask your heart. Do you really want to go home for Thanksgiving? Or do you want to not be part of the dysfunction? And then you come back to me and say, “Well Hansie if I don’t go, then they’ll all talk about me.” Who cares?  Remember that one, Alfred?

ALFRED:
There’s a tough one. Treat your family like any other soul out there, which is truth. Everybody is exactly equal in God’s eyes. Everybody has a soul, everybody has to be incarnated, everybody asked to have lessons, everybody’s going through their own stuff. Treat every soul the same way. Treat every soul with compassion, and dealing with your family will be a little easier.

HANS:
And remember something. All those people are wondering what you’re saying behind their back. If you let your family know that you’re coming, because you really want to come, but you’re not available for gossip, or in-fighting, where somebody sits at the table, and you get flack—stay home!

Stay home. Go to a movie. Be grateful for you. You’re the greatest gift you’ve got! Be proud of who you are. Find a friend who may not be doing anything for Thanksgiving and go to the movie together, go have coffee, do something.

We’ve got ourselves organized into “we have to do this” this mentality. No, you don’t.

ALFRED:
But if you do decide to go home for Thanksgiving, practice your energy protection exercises, don’t let your vibration drop, don’t let what other people say interfere with your energy and your peace—your flow. Make sure what’s most important is how you feel, not how they feel out there. Do not get involved with the drama. If anybody is having a bad day, say “Bless you.” What’s most important is you keeping your vibration up—not fixing your family.

HANS:
And not letting your family try to fix you.

ALFRED:
That’s not your problem.

HANS:
But what you can do if you don’t want to go is send a beautiful card, call on the occasion, or the day before. Let them know that you’re part of them, but you don’t feel you can make it this year. Don’t feel obligated to have to go to Thanksgiving dinner. That’s something that’s human-ness, not who you are. If you want to go—go. If you don’t want to go—don’t go.

For some of you, you’ve been saving all year, your nickels and pennies in order to buy a plane ticket. Only to find out the airlines have raised the plane tickets and they’re going to raise them some more. So what you want to do is find something around you—if you have a kitty, if you have a dog, a goldfish, a parrot, if you have a best friend, plan on spending some time with them, and enjoy yourself.

No matter what the weather is, what the temperature is—keep it warm in your own heart.

It’s an interesting time of year for a lot of people. I think the holiday times, Alfred, tend to call up for many people, sadness. It calls up dysfunction, what didn’t work and all that. What we’re trying to say is—it’s okay. That was then. This is now.

Wouldn’t you rather kiss your puppy on the forehead, than have to explain why you’re not the manager in your new business that you just started a year ago? Wouldn’t you rather just kiss your puppy?

And that will conclude the lesson for today, folks.

Topic: Spirituality and Your Career
October 17, 2015

HANS:
Hi everybody. Today’s topic is “Spirituality and Your Career.” We get a lot of questions from folks about making a living, earning money, and doing something spiritual and following your Dharma, your path in life. What is your job search like when you are transitioning out of a job that earns you money into a job that earns you money and is spiritual? How do you do that?

Guidance says, you begin the journey - and the problem we have Alfred, for ourselves, is that people want to transition and they look at me, or they look at you, and they look back and say, “Well how did they get there?”  It was a process. I always had it. Alfred is still working on it but it’s not that a bolt of lightening strikes you one day and it says,  “Now you’re in !” That’s not the way it happens. What you want to do is talk to Spirit and say, “I’m setting my intention to manifest my work with Spirit.” What They’re going to do when you do that is very slowly - and it is always slowly - it’s very rare that you wake up one morning and say - I want to be in service - and boom - the door opens and here comes the Angels and the Man and say, “Oh congratulations! You’re now in service.”

You start with the single most important thing - the intention. That’s the key.

ALFRED:
Absolutely. It’s starting the energy. This is the biggest transition that people need to understand. When working with the other side it all starts with creating the energy of something to be manifested by creating an intention. It is supported by trust, faith and belief in what you are asking the other side for is actually going to happen. That sends re-enforcement energy, re-enforcement vibrations, that the other side is actually going to follow through with that.

The other side basically answers your question immediately. However, as we know, on the physical side things take a little bit longer, which is why the faith, trust, and belief come in. But again, it all starts with changing your intention, changing your vibration, changing your approach as to how you go about looking for a job or a career or working with the other side.

HANS:
What Spirit says all the time is that you must operate from the awareness that it already is. Let’s say you’re working at a computer company and you’re doing data and all that, all very honorable, and you say, “You know Hans, I really want to be in service.” Okay, from that day forward, when you set your intention, you already are - then you must become the service by no longer wanting it. By accepting that it is so. “Today, I’m in service. I thank Spirit for the opportunity and for supporting me in my intention.” And then, as time goes by, it could be a month, it could be a year,  it could be a year and a half, but as time goes by, doors begin to open where previously there were no doors on the issue of service.

ALFRED:
And there’s a lot of choices to deal with. It’s not always crystal clear such as: I give up my job search to the other side.

The other questions we got in were how do you choose between a paying job, whether you like it or don’t like it, or doing something entrepreneurial? Being in service on your own with your own business?

HANS:
One thing you want to do always, is be grateful for what you have now. That’s one of the keys is that when you’re grateful for where you’re at — see, you forget that you’re where you used to pray to be. So, you’re there now, now what the heck do you do? So, it’s really important that we understand in the moment, “I’m here because I’m building a platform for my tomorrows and this is important, this is a springboard from my yesterdays to my new beginnings.” So, where you are at the moment, no matter what job you may have - it is a foundation or a bridge between what was and where you’re going to be.

ALFRED:
So, how do you decide? How do you know if it’s a bridge? You feel it. You go to a peaceful place and you feel. “Is this where I’m supposed to go? Is this where the flow is? Is this where the other side is leading me?” One of the basic things we teach in Intuitive Development is what is a yes and no answer?

A yes answer is a calm, high, faint, supportive energy that says - yes, this is for you. Quite simply, you put up to the other side the question, “Is this where I’m supposed to go?” And you wait for a response. It usually comes in an energetic and vibrational form. If it is not for you and you’re not supposed to go in that direction, you’ll get a heavy, deep, sometimes stressful vibration. If you have that type of feeling, that is a no answer, but you have to ask one at a time.

We got a question in from somebody who asked if they should take a job that was just offered to them or should they continue working on building their own business.

HANS:
Take the job that’s being offered in the awareness it’s being offered to get them safely and financially secure into their new beginnings. So many people think, “Oh, I set my intention because Hansie told me to and I’m just going to leave my job and I’m going to go out and there I’ll be.” No. Spirit is aware of what it costs to live in this world. But when you say to Spirit, “I now set my intention to have the following experience, I now set my intention to be in service. I thank you for the position I have now, because I know it’s part of the transition to my new beginning…”

Then you stop suffering what’s about to come up job-wise or what you already currently have.

ALFRED:
And again, a lot of times it can be confusing. Why is it that Spirit is interrupting my momentum? You don’t know if it’s a door behind a door. You don’t know if They’re going to be using that to leap-frog you. You don’t know what the other side is co-ordinating. Your job is to feel, to say, “Does this really feel good to me?”

HANS:
You know, a lot of times we talk about synchronicity. Spirit will open a door, and you’ll stand there scratching your head. “This is not what I asked for! This is not what I was hoping I was going to get.” What you don’t see, in the beginning, is the last domino follows the first domino. So the last domino couldn’t fall over without the first domino. Nor could the middle, nor could the second, nor could the fifteenth. So they’re all linked together.

ALFRED:
And that’s the way the other side works. They are constantly changing - life is constantly changing. Opportunities are constantly changing. Nothing is ever set in stone. That is why you have the term - go with the flow - because the energy may change. Somebody who was supposed to do something decided not to - your job is to feel the energy of the opportunity to make sure it’s not your mind playing games with you. To make sure your human-ness doesn’t get involved in the decision whether you should be an entrepreneur, stay at your current job, take a job offer that’s given to you. Follow the teachings the we have in the Intuitive Development Class in order to work with your Guidance, to hear them, okay?

HANS:
The key to everything is belief. It is knowing. I talked with a lovely lady today and she wants so much to be in Spirit, but she keeps saying, “I want to, I want to,” instead of saying, “I am, and this is a place on my spiritual journey and it’s perfect in it’s moment and concept.” See what I’m saying, folks? It’s already perfect. Just the way it is, is perfect. And when you begin to operate out of the awareness that everything is perfect - yes, your human-ness is going to get involved - get used to it.

Get used to it, because remember what we always teach - we are just these little angels having a human experience. Therefore, we’re susceptible to human frailties.

I’m not going to sit here today and tell you there aren’t times in my life I wish things might have been different as far as my mind chatter works, but then I’ll tell you almost always, it turns out, “Oh, that is why I didn’t get that! Okay? That is what happened.”

ALFRED:
Someone asked - How do you get guidance from Spirit about what direction you’re supposed to go in?

HANS:
My suggestion is you listen to the Intuitive Development Class wherein we teach you about your biggest nemesis called mind chatter. It’s your mind chatter that’s talking to you. It’s mind chatter that interferes with what we are trying to accomplish. Remember that with Spirit everything simply is. That’s the key. Everything simply is. And when you get that, when you know that, when you hear that, everything comes to that place. Alright?

ALFRED:
So basically your job is to be in the moment, focused on the moment, being as spiritual as you possibly can…

HANS:
… with no expectations.

ALFRED:
With no expectations about what’s going to happen in the future. By being in the moment, it’s one of the practices of letting go of the mind chatter in order to be much more connected. If you start worrying about or thinking about, “What’s going to happen to me? What am I supposed to do?” Then you’re inviting ego, which separates you from that which you’re trying to accomplish. Instead, by simply being spiritual, being peaceful, happy, grateful, in the moment, you’re more able to determine where am I supposed to go, what am I supposed to do, in the moment.

HANS:
Remember always children, the old adage, that expectations are limitations. Everything that you wish to accomplish, if you can feel it in your heart, the Guidance will take you to the possibility for the opportunity. Always.

Okay. That concludes the lessons for today.

Topic: Electronic Device Addiction
September 19, 2015

HANS:
Hi Everybody. Today’s topic is “Electronic Device Addiction.” I want to talk a little bit today, if I might, a little more about gadgets. We’ve been getting an awful lot of emails from people saying - a fair warning to everyone - when you’re using, I call them, the iPhone, but any subsequent product of that nature, when you’re continuing to use those on a daily basis, you begin to fracture the electromagnetic energy that you were born with. The vibrational field of the phone literally distracts you and pulls you more into your human-ness and away from the spirit of who you are.

ALFRED:
If I may translate… You get dragged into the dark side.

HANS:
Literally. I know people who simply go from one electronic device to the next, to the next, to the next, throughout their entire day. They can’t exist without having some electronic impulse into their consciousness.

ALFRED:
When does this become a problem? It becomes a problem when you substitute social life, social interaction with electronic interaction.

HANS:
I think that’s true, but I want to go to another place. I think it becomes a problem when you have to. Or you begin to feel out of sorts, if you don’t.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
Then you have like, people who drink too much... it does become a dependency. I have a client that came to my office the other day, everybody, and I’ve known her for a very long time and she gotten hooked on her iPhone, and every five minutes she pulled her iPhone out of her purse and looked to see if she got a message. And I finally had to stop the appointment and say, “Judy, honey, you’re distracting me.” She said, “I know, but I think I heard a vibration from the phone. It could be important.” Folks, how did we live when we actually had pay phones? The other day Alfred and I were actually somewhere...

ALFRED:
...at the airport.

HANS:
At the airport, where there was a bank of pay phones on the wall and we both looked at the pay phones and he looked at me and I looked at him and we went, "Wow!"

ALFRED:
So what is the issue with that spiritually speaking, where is the lesson?

HANS:
The lesson is it’s another addiction to keep you away from who you actually are.

ALFRED:
Okay, so that’s the first lesson.

HANS:
So it’s meant to distract you. Everything on television, everything on the radio, now on your computer, now at the gas station. I went to the gas station the other day to fill up my car and it wouldn’t give me the gas until I read an ad in the little box on the screen, and I had to answer the ad "yes or no" before it would give me the gas - which I’d already paid for.

ALFRED:
You all know what we think of media, mass media in general.

HANS:
And so we’re being led, like a bunch of lemmings, into using these gadgets that record our every move. We now know when people wake up, when they go to bed, what market they shop at, what bank they go to, and I noticed there has been a little bit of rebellion Alfred, from some the younger people now who are getting rid of their iPhones and who are coming off the Internet.

ALFRED:
Well that’s good actually, because the second lesson that we want to introduce to you is being in the now... is those phones really say something that could change my life, a message, something could come to me, which is why you’re constantly checking it, constantly using the Internet to search for something, instead of being in the moment. Instead of being social, instead of interacting with the person who’s in front of you, instead of paying full attention to where you are, who you’re with and what you’re doing. Instead, you’re looking to the other to the other side of the fence to see if the grass greener, did the green grass come in my home.

HANS:
While I was away from my phone did my life change and I don’t know it? Now back in my day folks, there was something called a pay phone, and if you needed to phone home you put a dime in and you dialed your house to see if everything was okay. In my day, we gathered around the TV to watch a particular program and then everybody got to comment on the program afterwards. It sounds like I’m reacting like an old guy.

ALFRED:
No, no, it’s a huge thing, especially with families. That’s one of the things my friend Dan pointed out, is that every single time he goes out in Los Angeles and sees a family, each member of the family pulls out their phone and doesn’t talk to one another. And Hans and I have seen this, also. It’s not just that we are worried about you being in the now, losing social skills, we’re also worried about family interaction... is because parents think an iPhone or an iPad is a good babysitter, but what are they giving up? They are giving up interaction with each other, communicating with each other, sharing with each other.

HANS:
The other night we went to this little barbeque place, and there was a very nice young couple who had two little daughters, beautiful children. And the minute they sat down, before they ordered, they said, “Let’s see Grandma. Let’s see if she’s sent a message. Let’s go see where were going to go tomorrow.” And they were indoctrinating their children, both the husband and the wife, into how important the cell phone really was.
Folks what we are losing is our ability to talk to each other. It’s so important. We now don’t sit down and write a card. Alfred calls it snail mail. I call it the polite way and the proper way to send notices. We used to send letters, we used to send cards, birthday cards. Now everything is quick, simple - here pay for it on the Internet, boom off it goes, you no longer have any responsibility. I want all of you to look at that and see if maybe you’ve become guilty of some of that.

ALFRED:
So just be aware of your personal energy. If you personal energy is frantic, scattered, fractured and you continue to go down the path of looking on the Internet, looking on your phone for whatever it is, but if this frantic energy doesn’t go away, then considering where you’re looking for what you need, it’s probably the wrong place. Probably less of your cell phone would be better to calm you down, to straighten out your energy. More social interaction, family interaction, personal socialization.

HANS:
You know I even know a client who, when they go to watch a movie with their family, actually has an iPad that they play a game on at the very same time they’re supposed to be watching a movie and think nothing of it. What I’m saying to everyone is - why not try to find a wonderful calm place in your life, where you take the cell phones, the iPads, any of the electronic devices, turn them off and put them in a drawer? I can hear everyone right now saying, “Oh what if somebody calls?” Well, what if? We survived without these devices for thousands of years. Maybe it’s time to sit down with your partner, your family, your friends, just to be there. The new thing I saw recently is that what is considered to be proper etiquette now is when someone comes into your house, they have to hand you their cellphone and turn it off and it’s put in the drawer by the front door and when you leave you’re given it back. Alfred, I think that’s a wonderful idea, don’t you?

ALFRED:
Creating boundaries. I think is a good lesson to consider is - what are your boundaries for your cell phone, for your gadgets? For example, I won’t put my work email on my iPhone. I won’t. I don’t care. You have to draw some boundaries when you are visiting people. Do you put your phone off? Do you take it off? Do you focus on the person that you’re focusing on - do you have down time? Or are you succumbing to the pressures of work or the pressures of twitter.

HANS:
You know, Alfred, you and I travel, and have you noticed that the minute the plane lands, the first thing everybody does is race for their iPhone? Turn their phones on?

ALFRED:
So what we’re trying to tell you in this lesson is: look at creating boundaries. This goes back to one of our basic basic lessons that we’ve been talking about is create space for nothing.

HANS:
Yes. It’s one of the first things I taught you.

ALFRED:
That was a hard lesson. Oh, my God.

HANS:
He fought me on that one. He said, “What do you mean nothing?” He had been taught that if you had nothing in your mind you were failing.

ALFRED:
There was something you could be doing.

HANS:
Something you could be doing.

ALFRED:
What does that sound like? Human-ness!

HANS:
This morning I went outside and I sat on a chair and I looked at the sunrise, and there were all these little birds around. We had gotten some bread and I was feeding these little birds and they were all coming up on the table. I was just talking to these birds and I realized that in that moment there was no place on earth that I would rather be. I was where I wanted to be and doing exactly what I wanted to do. How many of you can say that anymore? I shut my cellphone off. I don’t want to hear it. I’m not interested in who wants to get a hold of me at that moment because that moment belongs to me and my God and those birds. So think about what you’re doing, folks, and try to free yourself up a little bit from the compulsive behavior that causes you to have to consume your mind with all this technology.

ALFRED:
And that’s the spiritual path. It’s when you are not looking, you will find what you are looking for.

HANS:
Always.

ALFRED:
When you are looking, you are actively engaging your human-ness which separates you from that which you are looking for.

HANS:
You know what’s interesting, you had a heck of a time learning that from me and now you are teaching it.

ALFRED:
And now the joke is, in order to reach higher states of consciousness you need to separate from that which separates you. That’s part of my automatic writing class, again, to separate from that which separates you. In this lesson we’re telling you to separate from your gadget in order to create space for Spirit to enter your life. To be in nature, to be with other human beings, to socialize, to have family and friends.

HANS:
Exactly. You know, Alfred, I talked to one of our client friends today and he said to me, “I don’t know what I would do without my iPhone,” and I heard Spirit say, “ And that child, is your problem.”

ALFRED:
Exactly. That is the problem, because it is an addiction. If you’re looking for a high, there’s two ways. You can get your high by being addicted to substances, items, iPhones, gadgets, alcohol, whatever it is you’re addicted to.

HANS:
Anything that distracts you.

ALFRED:
To get your high and that is a human approach. Or you can get your high by letting go and surrendering and forming your relationship with that which is always around you. You can’t form that relationship if you have an addictive behavior to something, whatever that is, not just a substance but even an electronic device.

HANS:
You know Alfred, one of my long time clients has three boys and he couldn’t get them off all the gadgets at school and all these things and the mother used to say, “Well I can’t fight them, I might as well join them.” He hauled everybody down to Costa Rica, to a town called Ramon, and they don’t have any cellphones, they don’t have internet. The kids have learned to make friends and their whole lives have changed.

ALFRED:
So if you’re a parent and you’re looking for spiritual ways to raise your kids, it’s to teach them you may find what you’re looking for by disconnecting.

HANS:
So in other words, it goes back to the old teaching - less is more. Basically.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
The less occupied your mind is with objects, the more spiritual truth and value you’ll get.

I think we’ll go ahead and conclude the lesson for today.

Hello everybody. What a beautiful day it is today no matter where you are. This is a beautiful day, absolutely beautiful. Today's topic is "Accepting The Now." For many years you've heard me discuss about trying to look at where you are. You know most people live a daily life that is a projection of what they'd like to see in their life today. But it's "out there." It's out in the ethers. You'd like to have this place, or you'd like to have this partner, you'd like to have this job... And we spend most of our time outside of our own spiritual and emotional arena looking at what "could be." What we'd like to see.

And Spirit always brings us back to the moment of "it is now." Your life is about "now." Where are you "now?" And we simply don't want to do that.  We want to say: Well, I'm here but I'm going there. I'm here but someday I'll be there. And we constantly do this. We constantly live "out there" in the possibility that the mind creates for us. Rather than in the actual moment. And one of the things that Spirit teaches us is that each minute has a value. Each day has a value.

You've sometimes heard me say that on any given day 4 billion people would trade places with you in a heartbeat because their perception of where you're at is so much greater than their reality. We look at it and say: Oh, gee well...  I got the rent paid, or the mortgage is due, or the car payment needs to be paid. And we constantly are doing battle with the “not enough” syndrome. Things are not enough.

A wise person would say to you: Have you all you already need in this moment? If you listen to the emails that come in today, and every week, almost all emails are about what “could” happen... what you'd like to see happen... why isn't this happening... why isn't that happening... And each time you do that you invalidate the lesson of "the now"... the moment of now... how important "the now" is in your life. Remember, we put a series of "nows" together and that creates our life, you see? Not what we fantasize on, not what we imagine, not what we prayed for, not what we hoped for.

Life is in the moment. Accepting the moment in your life, right now, as the most important time in you life right now. And finding a value. Going out in the garden, finding a flower. Yesterday Alfred and I saw an Iguana who was doing battle with a bunch of blackbirds over some bread and chasing the blackbirds because they were stealing his bread. Now all he knew in that moment was he wanted that bread, and so he scattered everybody else away and puffed himself up and nodded his head up and down and showed how tough he was. But really, he just wanted the bread.

So in your daily life, when you wake up in the morning, say something like: I love this day. I appreciate that I have this day. I wonder what this day holds for me. Not immediately start wondering about this thing or that thing or something else... but just "in the moment," what's in this for me today. Alfred, do you have something on this topic?

ALFRED:
A lot of our clients are confused about the difference between everything you need is “in the moment" and us teaching, and everyone else... a lot of spiritual teachers teaching about manifestation, abundance, things that you want in your life and how do you reconcile the difference between the two? But the reality is they go hand-in-hand together. And how can they? If you have everything, why do you ask for something?

The reality is that in the brain's way of dealing with things.... it holds the energy.  I'm going to happier “then,” I'm going to be peaceful “then,” “when” I'm abundant,  “when” this thing manifests. That is very human way of going about it. Spiritually speaking, you hold your energy in the moment and when you are abundant, you are abundant in the moment. Now asking Spirit to work with things... You can create the energy, ask for the vibration, ask for the feeling, but "release it."

See, that is the major difference... you're not holding the vibration about something manifesting or abundance happening. You are releasing your wish, releasing your desire, and going back to being in the moment. So there is no problem with asking Spirit for something. It's whether or not you are holding onto that energy or releasing it and trusting the Other Side.

HANS:
Thank you, thank you, thank you. As I do this show, I have flowers on my computer... it shows me my different kinds of flowers. And I have to tell you each and every flower is living it its moment. It's not worried about tomorrow. It's not worried about anything. It's just in the moment. And then comes the bee along to sit in the flower. The bee is where it wants to be and the flower is where it wants to be. So in the moment, it is perfect.

I'm just going to run a little scenario here. This is Spirit speaking... this is me speaking. Let's say that you have a nice little one bedroom, or for that matter a studio apartment at this time in your life, and you long for a larger apartment, you long for a bigger experience. Perhaps an experience of living somewhere that's different than where you're living. We spend far more energy producing those thoughts than we do being grateful for where you are at the moment. Acceptance. Being available to know that this "here," wherever you are right now is the foundation or the groundwork for that tomorrow.

We've set our intention in place. And we "know" that this is so important because we cannot get "there" without being "here." It's impossible. There's an old saying in England that I love that says: The person who starts at the top is certain to drop. This I have found to be absolutely correct. You must climb your way up the ladder. But you start, number one, what I have I taught you - Intention. Making the moment okay for now. Not struggling, not using this to say: Oh, my apartment's too small... or you know I don't like the area that I live in and my neighbors don't like me... No, no, no. Being grateful for “the moment of the now"... that's what's important.

ALFRED:
And being grateful for what you have also goes hand-in-hand with manifestation and abundance. Because if you hold on to what you don't have, you're telling Spirit: I'm not grateful for what I have in my life right now. Why would They give you anything more? The lesson here is to be grateful for where you are in the moment. That understanding where you are is perfect. And if something happens to show up in your life well that would be fine. But it does not take away from your gratefulness for which you have in your life right now... or where you are in your life right now.

And this is very difficult for older souls. Because older souls, as we know, go through more difficult lessons. And that is a very difficult thing...

HANS:
That's very important, Alfred.

ALFRED:
… is to understand that regardless of how long the lesson goes on... how old we are in our lives... to be grateful for the situation that we're in because it's a lesson that we asked for. Okay?

HANS:
Yes. Isn't that one of the keys?

ALFRED:
It is the key because even if your life isn't as you want it to be... as your mind tells you it "could" be, as your mind perceives the way it is, the truth is, for many of us old souls, we're in the middle of what we asked to work for, to work through, to learn, to experience. And it is "that" which you need to be grateful for. It is then that Spirit realizes that you've learned the lesson.

HANS:
Absolutely, Alfred. If I have a deck of cards and it looks full but only one card is missing, can you actually play a game without that card? It would be very hard. So by accepting where you are, in the moment, in the wisdom, in the knowledge, in the understanding that it is part and parcel "of" your dream. Not trying to go to a better place from a place of victimization, from a place of something is wrong, from a place that is the appearance of lack. But a quiet knowing and a quiet understanding that I accept this because this is where I am to be and am supposed to be here, at my request.

This is part and/or parcel of my tomorrows. And when someone comes into your life and they're in your life for a long time but the relationship just doesn't seem to work anymore, we should never throw stones at that person - ever. We should be blessing that person, loving that person, wishing them well. That's what's important is appreciating the moment. Because it's out of the moment that all of your tomorrows come. Okay?

Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.
