HANS:
Folks this is a time of the year when both Alfred and I begin to notice a lot of people in our classes, a lot of people in our social life are losing loved ones. So many people have lost people during the holiday seasons, people who may have been here last year or two years ago, five years ago, but they’re not here in the human form this year.

How do you handle that? Well, it’s really hard because what we have is what I call “the absence of the presence.”

We know that that soul is beautiful, they’re happy, they’re young, they look great—but for us, we have the memory of the person being in our life for twenty, thirty, forty years, and suddenly one day, you can’t call them. They’re not coming for Thanksgiving dinner, they’re not coming for Christmas. How do you handle that?

I think one of the most important things is to remember our greatest fear, our greatest concern, is that we fear that person’s identity, the consciousness of that individual, may no longer be there. Because if you can’t talk to them and have a dialogue on the phone or in person, gee, I wonder if they’re really there or have they moved on? I hear this a lot from people, “Have my loved ones moved on?”

ALFRED:
And what Hans is trying to say, is that we take it for granted.  They’re on the other side, happy, they’re continuing their life, they’re meeting with their friends on the other side, they get to pick whatever appearance, usually a younger appearance, they’re more vibrant, and for us it’s a common way to look at someone on the other side.

HANS:
The truth of the matter is, always remember this my friends, this is the illusion. This life that you, and Alfred and I, this is the illusion. Spirit is the reality. For instance, when I go off to school, when I’m young that takes up a big chunk of my life everyday. Is the school, in fact, my reality? No. Home is your reality. The school is something you agreed to participate in, so it’s an illusional type of thing. In other words, it’s a choice that we make.

ALFRED:
So what we’re trying to do is help you understand that the easiest, simple way to deal with someone’s passing is to realize there is no question whether their consciousness continued, there is no question whether they are happy. Basically, you can take for granted they’re in bliss, joy, they’re happy.

HANS:
They’re glad to be out of here. Not glad to leave their loved ones, but glad to be out of the heaviness. The energy is very heavy when we’re on this side, and so having an ability to be lighter and have the same consciousness is a big difference.

ALFRED:
That, and also to realize that just because they’ve passed to the other side, also take it for granted that they are around you, waiting for you to ask them for help.

HANS:
You know, Alfred, one of the biggest questions that I get is, “Can they hear me?” In other words, the identity of the individual, can that still hear me the same way that it heard me on this side on the phone or in person. The answer is absolutely. In fact, it’s even magnified.

So, one of the things that we teach in our classes is always remember to ask your loved ones for things, always remember to include them. I include my Dad in my driving, even if I’m just going down to the market, I include him in that. Bring those on the other side back into your life, so you still have them in your heart.

ALFRED:
Take it for granted that they continued, they’re in a better space, that they hear you, they are around you, and take it for granted that you can do fun things. It doesn’t have to be serious always, you can go shopping, go for a beer, go for a walk, go for a drive, whatever that person liked to do on this side with you, you can pretty much take it for granted that they still would like to do it.

HANS:
Alfred was teaching a class and so I said to my Dad, “Come on, let’s go to a movie.” I could feel his presence sitting right beside me, I could feel him. So what I want to say to you is, for those of you who have lost someone to the spirit world, the holidays always bring up a sense of a little pain, a little sadness. For some of you maybe you’ve lost both of your parents, maybe you’ve even lost a brother or sister, or even worse, a child. Know that those people are no more than a thought away from you. The only thing that distances you from them is your own thought form.

ALFRED:
Doubt.

HANS:
A big one. Huge. Doubt really separates.

ALFRED:
So have no doubt that they survived. Have no doubt that they’re around you. Have no doubt that you can still interact with them.

HANS:
Yes. Absolutely. And you know, Alfred, so many people believe—but when it comes to issues of the loss of a person, their belief gets really tested, because they think—“I know it works for other people but are my people really still around me?” And one of the things that we ask you to do is, give them things to do. We use the parking space, the parking fairy, and give them things to do. Please help my son, he’s trying to get into this university; just implore them to come on in. I used to tell people to set a place at the table for them, for the one that you lost that you are mourning. Set it because they are there. They are there.

ALFRED:
Okay, on to our next topic, which is how do you deal with relatives, friends who are preparing to pass?

HANS:
Now there’s a tough one. Both Alfred and I have noticed that we have many clients that are emailing us and booking appointments because they are losing someone. We have friends who are in hospice, and we’re visiting friends in hospice and how do you deal with that? Those that are getting ready to transcend, to make that transition back to the spirit world are in a completely different space than you and I. They’re in a space of finality. They know that they’re leaving the body. You know they’re leaving the body. What is the dialogue that go back and forth?

I spent yesterday helping a dear lady friend of ours who is making her transition and she was asking what the process was. How did it work? You can really help people by letting them know the most important thing they want to know: is will their consciousness survive? This has been a big one for me for fifty years. Does their consciousness survive? The answer is yes. If you can reassure them that their consciousness survives, then it makes the entire process for them less of an ending. It just doesn’t end. Oh, I’m just transferring to a new car. I’m just going to another house; which is actually the truth. So helping people to understand in this transition that this is not a time about you, it’s about them, and being there for them.

Alfred, I have a lady who is losing her little dog of eighteen years right now and it’s all she has. And she’s only sixty years old. She says, how do I handle this? You tell that little one whenever he wants to come back you’ll be available, because most times you’ll get the little pets you lost back again.

For those of you who are helping a loved one to the other side, reassure them again that their consciousness continues. You’ll be able to dialogue with them. You can make arrangements to have certain things happen. I had a lady who said she told her father when he died, “Tilt all my pictures to the right, if you can.” About a month later all the pictures in the house were tilted to the right.

ALFRED:
And that’s the joke I’ve been doing with people. When my nana passed, she was very upset that she didn’t get to do certain things, and you can say quite simply, well when you decide to come back from the other side you can decide to do those things you wanted to do.

I like the way Hans was describing it. If you have your favorite coat, and after a long time it’s worn out, it has some holes, what do you do? You wear it once in awhile, but then you decide okay, I’m going to get a new coat. That’s it. If your coat is worn out, quite simply you just decide to get a new one. And that’s basically it. When I’ve been dealing with people who are making their transition, I try to make it optimistic.

HANS:
That’s a good idea. Alfred has often visited a dear friend of his who is not doing well, and he was watching what I did yesterday, and the coat statement is really very important. People really hear that. So you might say to someone—you wouldn’t wear the same coat for your entire life would you? Because it would be ragged and torn.

Helping people to understand, number one, that their consciousness survives. Number two, you’ll see that they’re not going anywhere you’re not. I like that statement. When I give that statement to people, I said to my friend yesterday, you’re not going anywhere I’m not. I’ll see you again and give you a hug again, and we’ll look about and talk and try to get caught up on everybody we know. So we’re all headed in the same direction; we just are all in different cars.

So if you have someone whose getting ready to make their transition, be there for them. Most important thing: listen to them. Listen. They need someone to hear them. Please, if you have a situation like this, go to the prayer requests, and we’ll get that person on the prayer list and add all the positive energy, love and light that we can.

No one is going to take away your grief from losing your friend, your lover, your family member, no one can take that away. What you can do is make it easier on you and on them, by talking about the rejoining with each other when you make your transition. Okay?

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Death and The Soul's Passing
April 13, 2015

HANS:
Hello everyone. Today's topic is "Death and the Soul's Passing." It's one of the toughest things that ever happens to us is the anticipation of someone passing and the actual passing. So many of us are connected to another person so strongly that the very idea of them leaving us, or abandoning us and going on without us, is terrifying. There's another fear, Alfred, that comes up... and I hear it a lot from people: Have they moved on beyond me? Will they still be here for me? Will they still be guarding me and taking care of me? The answer is "absolutely."

They don't move on beyond you. They go into their own new thing that they have to do. But remember that the time of the Spirit is very rapid. A day for them is like a month to us. Okay? So they don't view the time so much so they don't feel its been so long since they've been gone.

But it is a terrible time when someone that you have loved very much has to say goodbye. But they're really not leaving. They're simply going into that dimension that you go into every night that you go to sleep. And therefore you are still totally available to them. It's in the nighttime. And then in the daytime, you can ask them to help you with specific areas in your life - what you'd like to have done. In other words, most people I have found let the person who has passed away go - literally. They let them go. Even though they believe in their heart that that person can help them, they don't include them, they don't give them things to do.

And that's one of the things that I think that a lot of people need to look at is why we feel that we need to abandon those that we love. And one of the things that Spirit has said to me was: They never leave us. But they, which is us, most always leave them. And I said: Why? They said: Because it's too painful to call us up in consciousness. He said: Include us. Include your mother, or your father, your grandma. Include them in your life. Your child... include them in your life - on a daily basis. Speak to them in the morning when you get up. I like to say: Give them things to do. They absolutely love that. Because they're not supposed to interfere, Alfred, unless we give them permission to do so.

ALFRED:
Absolutely. And the truth of what we're trying to say here about death is those souls who have passed, in reality, love us even more, and support us even more, and want to be with us and help us even more from the Other Side.

HANS:
Very true, very true.

ALFRED:
And since they've let go of the humanness...

HANS:
Their human perceptions.

ALFRED:
Yes. All they are is unconditional love. So the normal way, should we say, the human way, the mind chatter way, is to view death as something wrong. Yes, of course, you can mourn the person. Yes, of course, you can remember all of the good things that happened. But the truth is that that soul is around you and wants to be involved in you, at least, if not more, than that person was when they were here on earth.

HANS:
Um hmm. Do we have any other questions on Death, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Oh, we absolutely do have more, Hans. How do you deal with the mind chatter of somebody passing?

HANS:
That's a tough one. Because the mind chatter has its own perception of your relationship with that person. By that it may say: I never got to say this... or they never said that to me. And it gets the mind chatter involved. Rather than say: I love that person and they love me and I know they're going to be there for me as I proceed down the path. We start going into memory and finding pain and say: Oh, I wish this could have happened... or I wish my mom had said this... or my dad had said that. And we go into a place where the mind chatter just begins to explode in pain. And that's the time when you want to say: You know what? None of this is true. I'm not going to allow this mind chatter to interfere with my love for the person who's crossed over.

Sometimes, Alfred, when people pass over, there are a lot of what I'm going to call lost expectations - things that might have been, things that could have been said. But remember, that person only came into this life to assist you on your journey. And so no matter what it appears like, that person was here to be a mirror and a growth partner with us.

ALFRED:
So is it okay to grieve someone's passing?

HANS:
Oh, Heaven's yes. Absolutely. But in your grief, don't grieve for them. Grieve for the appearance of the loss of their presence. That's what you can grieve for. They're fine. They're beautiful. They're okay. We're the ones who are left with the problem. So yes, you can grieve them but remember we're really grieving the loss that we feel of their identity and their personage. We miss being able to hug them, or pick the phone up.

I still picked the phone up for a year, a year and a half, after my father died to call him. I never told anybody that. But I did it all the time. Because for 47 years I did. And it's very hard to simply shut that off, Alfred, and say: Oh, just don't do that anymore. That's not how the human psyche works. Okay? But as I developed my relationship with my dad, after he was gone, the need for being able to do that diminished. Okay?

ALFRED:
What about how we make them feel? For example, the difference between us being sad that they're gone or us being happy remembering their life. Do they feel that on the Other Side?

HANS:
Absolutely. And this is what I try to say to people, Alfred: You're making them feel bad. Don't do that. And people get mad at me and say: How can you say those types of things? Because it's true. They feel... As I like to say: When you smile Spirit smiles. When you laugh Spirit laughs. Always. So if you're wandering around crying all the time and depressed and suicidal thoughts and all of that stuff, they feel that, they hear that, and then they feel bad that they caused you pain.

But each person in our life, for as long as our life on This Side exists, has a contract with us. And those contracts don't always mean that that persons stays with you for the entirety. It doesn't mean that. So enjoy the person while they're here, love them while they're here, knowing that they did not go anywhere you're  not. There's the key, children. They did not go anywhere that you're not going. And Christ said: I go before you to prepare a room for you in my father's house.

In other words... Let's say your mom or your dad passes away, they're going back home again. And when they do, they prepare a space for you when your time here is over. The love never dies. You don't love your parents, or your lover, or your loved one, or your doggy, or whatever... you don't love them less because they left you. Love was eternal.

ALFRED:
And I think that's it for the questions we have on Passing, Hans.

HANS:
Alrighty. This is a very, very difficult subject everyone. And each and every one of you will face this subject, if you live a normal life span, several times in your lifetime. But remember, they are right beside you “always” in consciousness.

Okay, Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: The Perception of Death
February 28, 2015

HANS:
Hello everyone. Today's topic is "The Perception of Death." It's certainly an interesting title, and I want to say to everyone that life is a continuum. There is no beginning and there is no end. In the human form we are guided by a perception that says you become alive when you are born and you die when you die and your soul goes to Heaven and... Basically what it is is throughout our lives we are constantly going to different levels of consciousness to enrich our soul. So when we're here in the human world, we have human attachments. And those human attachments, these wonderful people who love us and... I had a lovely lady come up to me at Agape and she says: Hansie, are you taking care of yourself? I said: As best I can. I said: Why? She says: Because I would die if we lost you. And I said: No child you would not. Because I would continue to impress energy on you after I left. All you have to do is call me. Just ask for me.

Death is something that is not real. All that's happening is that the physical attachment... Let's say the car we bought is getting rusty, it's getting old, but the interior's still fine... So my interior's still fine. I don't believe I'm going anywhere for any number of years to come. However, a lot of people have an awareness that they believe in the totality of death. That when you pass away that's it, goodbye, no more. Nothing, children, could be further from the truth.

A lovely lady at Agape came up to me and said: Hans, my mother died last week and we didn't have a good relationship and I'm so sad we parted the way we did. I said: Were you there? She said: Yes. I said: She passed through you on the way home. And when she got home, she was quickly able to see what had happened. She's at peace now and she's hugging you and saying: Don't believe what happened was who I am. You see? Don't believe what happened is who I am. So it's time for all of us, at some point, to say goodbye. There's no one in this listening audience who will not lose someone. That is the way of life. How you approach it is another matter entirely. Our Irish friends hold a Wake and celebrate and sort of get a little sloshy and they honor the person that Hawaiians do. So many of our oldest cultures honor the person on the way out of this adventure - which is all it ever was in the first place.

Sometimes we have only one friend and that friend is a parent, or a lover, or a loved one. And that person gets sick and terror fills our heart. And we say: What will we do if they leave us?  And I would say to you: You'll be fine because God is great, love is eternal. You will never lose...never ever lose the love of that individual. I lost my partner of 47 years some years ago. How did I handle that? Not well. Even knowing what I know, I still suffered. I wound up in the hospital. And then magic occurred. Out of all that. And Alfred showed up. And so what I'm saying to you is there is no beginning, there is no end, there simply "is."

Many of you have relationships with individuals you would have never dreamed you would ever be in with that one. But what you don't know is the "why." So you have contracts with people who will come into your life and you have contracts with people who will leave your life as you will leave your life one day. And what you want to always be certain is that you stay on track to accomplish all that you came in to do the best you can. You may not, children, get to everything in this lifetime. I don't know that I will. But Spirit doesn't look at that. Do they? They always say: And what was the intention? That's where they come from.

At the moment of crossing, the Spirit cuts our silver cord, you know nothing about it, you don't feel anything, nothing happens, you simply go to sleep for a moment. 5 minutes later, if there is such a thing is time, that's what they guesstimate, you wake up and oh, oh, it's you, it's you. Oh, oh I forgot. Oh my God, I forgot...all my family and friends. And then a party ensues. Alfred's Italian so he's going to have a very big party. Aren't you, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Absolutely. And that's one of the big things is the mind cannot fathom life without the body because it is the body. However, the soul truly knows that this body is merely an experience and there will be many more of those experiences.

HANS:
Many, many more.

ALFRED:
Many more.

HANS:
And you know Alfred, this is how strange we are as Spirit in human form.  We say we're afraid of death and every night we ask to go to sleep, to lose consciousness, believing we will wake up. Every night we go to sleep. Oh, for a lovely night's sleep. Oh, oh... We're not afraid to die at all. You see? Because you have a consciousness that's says oh, but you'll wake up. Folks, when you make your crossing you also will wake up. You see what I'm saying? So that's why I say that life is a continuum.

Please don't be afraid of death. If you want to worry about anything, worry about life. It's very complicated (laughing). Death is very simple. The Other Side is beautiful. But you've got to stick it out, finish the job. And you'll know, you'll know that when your partner, your mom or your dad or your sister or brother or your child leaves you, they're in such love, such love. The abundance of love is everywhere. And for all these 60 years I've been in service I've heard Spirit come back and say: I had no idea. I feared for nothing. Everything is beautiful.

And they can do little things around the house. They can put the TV on, put it off, turn lights on and off, tilt pictures...All kinds of fun things. Love everyone you can for as long as you can. But that love will never die when that person leaves you or you leave that person. Alfred, I think that will conclude the lesson for today.
