Topic: Being a Seeker
September 12, 2015

HANS:
Hi everybody. The topic for today is "Being a Seeker." In the Bible, it says: Remember that a Seeker findeth always. A Seeker findeth always.

What is a Seeker? A Seeker is someone who has learned that their life is a bit of an illusion and wants to see beyond the illusion... wants to see what other experiences... how they might expand their consciousness... how they might become someone other than who they are now... because time and society has molded them into a certain character, a certain mold.

And they're looking to see what else there might be. That is why our belief system is growing so rapidly around the world... especially here around the United States and Canada. Why? Because people are looking to go beyond the norms. They're looking to expand themselves. Alfred, you went through the Seeker phase, didn't you?

ALFRED:
Yes. It's when you start realizing that the paradigms, the rules, the ways of being, that are meant for all people, may not apply to you as an individual. And that's the big thing about spirituality. Spirituality is you are are individual soul with an individual unique body with a unique life-path, a unique karma, a unique set of previous lives that led up to this life. Your experiences are going to be unique. Thus, the rules that apply to you are going to be different for you.

How they apply to you are going to be different for you. The ones that you decide to follow, the ones that “fit” your incarnation for this life are going to be unique to you. Thus, what we say, is: A Seeker is an individual finding his or her own unique path in this life.

HANS:
Growth path... Exactly, exactly. So when you reach a point that you say: This... whatever "this" is for you... This doesn't work anymore for me. I'm not feeling comfortable in this. I'm not feeling comfortable in what I'm doing, I'm not feeling comfortable in how I'm spending my time. Okay? All you have to do is say to Spirit: I seek a new beginning... I seek a new beginning... and I set my intention to look beyond the limitations I have allowed others and myself to place upon me. I now seek a larger experience.

I remember a gentleman that I knew who was a fabulous computer chip designer... recognized by his peers. And one day he said to me: I need to look beyond the bowl I've placed myself in. I feel like a goldfish in a bowl. And I think you've all seen that commercial on TV that goes around today, where the goldfish jumps out of the bowl, and they put it back in the bowl. He said: That's how I felt... that he couldn't breathe anymore.

He was not able to know even who he was. He knew what he could do, and he was very good at what he could do. I said: Well, what do you want to do? He said: I want to live in Hawaii and have a Center and teach. That's what I want to do. I knew it for a long time. And coming from where he was, he would require a partner to help him to do that. And one day, in his 60's, that partner, she came along... and they both shared the same vision.

Today, that person and the partner have a Center in Hawaii doing very well and they're very happy. How did that happen? Because he set his intention to serve. He set his intention to be the Seeker he always wanted to be and he stopped looking backwards to go forwards. So, a Seeker says: Yes, I can. Yes, I am. You've had that experience before, haven't you Alfred?

ALFRED:
Yes. And basically what we're talking about here in being a Seeker is you really have two choices - to follow what society says, what your education says, what your parents say, what your family, your friends, the television, the media... to follow "that," which are generalizations meant for everybody, and look for your life in that way "or" to seek alternative ways of thinking... alternative perceptions, alternative ways of being.

We do our best to present to you through this Weekly Show, these Topics, our Products, our Classes - to present to you a lot of different perspectives to help you decide what are you going to follow, how are you going to think, how are you going to be.

HANS:
When you decide that your existence doesn't serve you any longer, then it's time to say: Oh, who locked my door? And the truth of the matter is - that you did. You put yourself in the box and locked the door.

ALFRED:
Yes, and that's where it starts is the choice.

HANS:
It's their choice... Exactly.

ALFRED:
In this topic it is a choice to follow what society in general follows, or the choice  to seek an individual path.

HANS:
That's right. I have another lady friend of mine, who some years ago, she was a Massage Therapist... very well recognized with a very good practice out in Palo Alto, California. She didn't have a lot of money. And she said: Hans, I want to move to Hawaii. But I couldn't possibly afford to do that. I said: No,  you couldn't. So you won't get to go.

She said: Well, why are  you saying that? I said: I'm not, you are. You're saying that. You're saying you can't afford to go. Spirit isn't saying that. I said: Since when is Spirit not your bank account? She went to her grandmother and she got a little loan. Her name is Hilda. And she watched for the best priced ticket she could get and off she went to Maui.

And she met someone on the plane, a nice young lady, and they got to talking back and forth.. and it went along... and the short of it is she became a Real Estate Agent. She went to school, she did the massage therapy, she worked in one of the major Hotels there, she earned a living. And now she owns at least 10 or 15 properties, she's happily married, she's living in Maui, and the last time I talked to her, she said: Hans, a Seeker does find... always.

So I think what's important for all of you to understand is you all need to become Seekers. If you listen to the lovely questions that Alfred and I get every week, you can hear in the "asking" the wondering if things will change... the wondering if you'll be okay... the realization that your life often times isn't going in the direction you would like it to go.

That's when you sit down and say: Enough... enough. You get your friends around you, I'm talking about your Spiritual Friends everybody, sit down with your beverage and you say: Oh, time for a new beginning. You see?

And the minute you say that, Spirit starts the disconnect of what's binding you. They don't look at your dharma and say: Oh, well she can't do this because of that... and she'll never be able to do this because of this. They don't do that. They say: Oh, she gets it. The Seeker is now "aware”. And that's what I want all of you to become is a Seeker who becomes "aware."

Alfred, that's what happened to you... you became "aware."

ALFRED:
Yes. You become aware that you have a choice. And that's where it starts.

HANS:
Absolutely.

ALFRED:
You have a choice to follow all of these things that everybody tells you you should follow. I don't care how much you paid for your education, I don't care what your parents' background is, what they firmly believe, what your family tried to drill into you, what the television, the media tried to pound into you - it all starts with understanding "you have a choice," "you have alternatives," and you make that choice.

HANS:
You know you say something here, Alfred, that I think is very important for people to hear. You kept saying in your speaking right now "you have a choice." Do you know that most people don't know that?

ALFRED:
That's why we're saying that.

HANS:
That's why we're here.

ALFRED:
I didn't know...

HANS:
No, you didn't...

ALFRED:
That's where it started. I didn't know I had a choice. I didn't know I had a choice. And so now we're going to be talking about our second topic which is: What is the choice? What could you seek? What is that alternative? What is a Seeker seeking?

You can make the choice to say I don't believe the rhetoric... I don't believe the media... Something's just a little weird with what somebody's telling me. What is it? What are the things that you can seek once you make a choice?

HANS:
Anything... anything. Don't we love the story, folks, of people who are born in the life in abject poverty and they struggle and they work and they try to get an education but they always know they're better and bigger than what the  circumstances tells them they are... whatever circumstance they're in. They work hard. And one day, magic appears.. magic.

And, I've said this for years, if you go and read any biography or auto-biography of any person you think is well known, famous, whatever... somewhere in the book, these words will appear, maybe not in this order, but they will say: And I always knew it.

That's called: Setting your intention and being a Seeker. They always knew. There was no room for doubt. None. Anything that came into their life that was a problem... Oh, this was something that the resolve is already on the way... the fixing this is already on the way. So they never looked at being a Seeker. They never looked at the blocks as a block... they looked at them as a possibility.

ALFRED:
And that's what we call "Truth." What is true for you? What is true for your life path? What is true for you as an individual? What are the experiences that you wish to have in this incarnation? Those things, you'll “feel” inside. They are not things you can think, memorize, understand. No. That's the other side. What we're trying about is the side of you that can feel what is right for you, as an individual.

HANS:
Yes. So what can happen to you if you're a Seeker? Anything you want. There is almost no dharmic roadblock or lesson that is ever designed, or karmic debt, that is ever designed to keep you off your path and keep you from your dreams. That's all humanness... simply humanness.

So when you become a Seeker, you say: I believe. I believe. I don't know how, I don't know where, I don't know when, but I believe. And when you do that, when you set that intention, when you become that personal Seeker, the truest and the greatness of your purpose is drawn to you - always.

Alfred is now getting his book underway. That's going to be published. He's got his wonderful "Business in Spirituality” Seminars going. It all started when I said: What do you want to do? He said: I want to teach. That's what you're doing.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
You went from working in a bank to being a Spiritual Teacher.

ALFRED:
Yes, and a lot of that... what we're going to be talking about, starts with not just a "choice," but then the belief is that there is something more than what is obvious. What is obvious is in the human realm. What is obvious is what your parents tell you, what the TV tells you, what your education tells you. That's "obvious."

HANS:
I call that "program limitation."

ALFRED:
Yes, that's humanness.

HANS:
That's humanness.

ALFRED:
What we're trying to tell you is to believe, to surrender, into something that is "not obvious". What is not obvious is what is for you, in your specific path. What is true for you, for your specific life. And that takes Faith, Trust and Belief and a lot of Surrendering. We have another topic on "Faith, Trust and Belief". But what we're talking about is, first to make the choice, and then to surrender into that.

What we're talking about in "choices"... For example, is you can try to follow what everything tells you in Western education, Western media, which is you get what you negotiate, you get what you control. We're saying: You have a choice to surrender, to let go, to work with the Universe, to let your life flow in the direction it's supposed to flow.

That is a choice. You don't have to control everything. You don't have to manipulate. You can simply “Be.” See, that is one of the choices that we're talking about here is to go in the opposite direction in order to find your unique path and that has to do with surrendering into things you may not understand.

HANS:
Thank you... appreciate that. So yes, you too can be a Seeker. You have to set your intention. And above all things, my friends, you must "believe" that when you set your intention, Spirit is standing beside you and you say: I would like the experience of this... I would like the experience of that. A Seeker is someone who says: This life I'm living does not represent who I am. I'm living in an imaginary world that I created... that my parents created... the schools created.

I remember one thing that Alfred used to talk about a long time ago, is all the education he had to get just to be the Banker. It was a huge amount of education. He had double majors... in what was it?

ALFRED:
Double major in Economics and Business and a Graduate Degree in Business.

HANS:
And he's teaching Spirituality.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
And if you think that was easy for him to get to... You see this white hair here? (Hans laughing) It's not been easy friends. But one thing he had was intention to Seek. And that's what I want all of you to have is the Intention to Seek. To seek a greater you, a greater experience, a happier you, a joyful experience. Anything you want, you can create. All the great teachers have always known this. We're only limited by our own imagination - period. That's all. That's it. We're limited by our own imagination. Yes, you can; and Yes, I am.

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Hans:
Hello everybody. Welcome on-board. I was kind of amazed when Spirit told me what the topic would be today. I had asked: Well what you like to speak about today? And they said: The Magic Within Us All. And then I said: Well explain. And he said: This is what I was told. When we come onto this plane, we also arrive with a little...a little stack of magic tricks, okay? And those magic tricks are “forever”. We can use them, we can apply them to whatever situation that we want, we can conjure up all kinds of things. But The Magic Within Us All means that if you have “faith” and you “believe”, you can make your life and any situation in that life go your way. Miracles, magic. You are the magician of your own life. You can pick what you would like to do, where you would like to go, the results you would like to see. You are the magician of your own life. And what's so wonderful about that is nobody else actually has your bag of tricks. Nobody. Because your bag of tricks was given to you based on your particular dharma and the karma that you have accumulated. So it's unique unto you...unique. And so what I want everyone to understand is that no one doesn't have a magic bag. We all have a magic bag. What does that mean? It means that in each and every one of us there is a place of belief that miracles can attach to. There's a place inside of each and every one of us that holds the answer we're already seeking. So our little bag of magic tricks simply says: I believe them. Now when a magician, he or she, we'll just call it a magician, is about to do a trick, they never say: Gee, I wonder if this would work. They already know it works and half of the trick is the magician knowing it works. Half of your getting through this incarnation is “knowing” you have gifts. There's a magic within each and every one of us that connects directly to Spirit. So we can say: Well, I started to do this but I don't like it so I'd like to change it and I'm going to go down this road instead. Boom! Suddenly out of nowhere, energy produces itself to make that trick happen. So we can re-set our magic over and over and over again. And remember no one else has our bag of tricks. Alfred, would you like to say something here?

Alfred:
Well I think there's a lot of different things that we have when we're born. Some of them are specific skill sets that have to do with our dharma. Such as if you desire to be a musician, you just were able to pick up a guitar and play it, or were able to just play the piano without lessons. That's part of the magic that follows you into this lifetime are the things that come natural to you are pretty much in tune with that which you wanted to experience - your dharma, your path in life. And I think that's a huge part of the magic that you were born with, that comes with you, that's inside of you.

Hans:
Yes. We are all born with our own little bag of goodies. And remember that we are all unique to our own magic. Others may look like they're walking the same path but they're not. Their path is slightly different than your path which is slightly different than someone else's path. We're all going in the same direction, we're just in different cars. So recognizing that there is a magic about you that you can literally make anything you wish come true... Now, mind you, sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it takes a little while. But if you set your intention, and know and believe like the magician does, absolutely you will see this dream come true. It doesn't matter. And no negative karma can ever stop your bag of tricks from helping you create your life. Never. So when you say to yourself: Ah, I would like the experience of doing this or doing that...whatever it is. I wonder what I have in my bag of tricks to make this come true? And the very first thing  you pull out of your bag is "I believe". When you say "I believe", it reinforces the intention. Then, with the "I believe", you trust in the reality of it. So all of these little goodies are in your bag. Now here's the wonderful thing...I keep bringing this up because I think it's important because I have a lot of people who say to me: Can I change my mind or am I stuck in what I originally started to create? You may change your mind at any time. However children, always remember that there is a "time" element. Now what do I mean by that? When you set your intention and you pull out your goodies from the bag to make it happen. And then you say: You know what this is not going the way I wanted it to, I don't think this is what I wanted to do, but I think what I would like to do is thus. Spirit then has to pull the energy back from what you were creating with your bag of magic, put the tricks back in the bag, and then they have to clear the space and then they say: Okay, where to from here? So don't think that you can be going on one path and shift in the middle of it and immediately it will change, because it won't. It takes just a little time. What is time? It is irrelevant to Spirit. Whenever the energy redesigns itself. It can be a matter of an hour, a day, it can be two weeks. However, knowing that it is changing to the new intention is the key. So “belief”  and “trust” and “knowing” are three of the ingredients in your bag of tricks. Having those... You're dreaming...I want you to think about dreaming. Dreaming and wishing and hoping and all of those things are all part of the magic of your life. You can literally be sitting in your chair in your living room and project yourself into that pretty house that you saw down the block. Just literally project yourself right into it. And you can say something like this: I know and I believe that some day I will have the experience of living in a house like that. So you take one of your tricks "I believe", you take "faith", you take "knowing", you take "trust", and you point them in that direction. Somewhere along your path, if it is meant to be, and most of our dreams are, that will come to pass. I have probably a thousand clients through the years who have said to me: I dreamed it when I was a child. I knew it and I believed it and here it is. How do we know this? Once again because energy follows thought. So your bag of tricks is very, very powerful. You always hear me say: Be careful what you pray for. Because you are entitled to operate with your bag of tricks in creating your life. And no dharma is ever so destined that it would ruin your ability to create with your bag of tricks - ever. So inside of each and every one of us is a little magician waiting to pop out. And the energy for that magician is "faith" and "belief", "knowing"...no doubting. Have you ever noticed that people on this show will say: Do you think I'll get this job? What have they actually done kids? They've actually said: I'm not certain I'm going to get this job. So they've added a negative thought to a positive wish. And they cancel each other out. And if you cancel out the intention for your own dream, then nobody else can dream it for you.

Alfred:
That's a really good point Hans is a lot of us know the very unique gifts that we were born with. I'll go back to say, the guitar player that he "knows" he's a gifted musician. That he was born with the skills to be a musician. But does he doubt  that that's what he's supposed to do? Or does he say? I “trust” this is what I'm supposed to do and “believe” that the universe will provide him enough opportunity to bring what he does, play his music to the world, and he can earn enough money to keep a roof over his head. And that's what we're talking about. Is what you've requested to do with your dharma is not only the magic that's inside of you, it's what the universe has been requested to support you in. So if you're a musician and you decide to become a banker, you're going to be wondering why you keep getting fired and having fights...

Hans:
That's right.

Alfred:
However if you do trust the universe that you are supposed to be a musician and not follow what everybody else does, then you truly believe that they will support you in that. Those are the miracles that we're talking about.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
That following what's inside of you and trusting that the universe will provide the miracles needed for you to follow your dharma is what Hans is talking about.

Hans:
Each and every one of you is your own magician. Each and every one of you have a facet of the Godforce within you that no other person has quite the same. You are "unique" with your bag of tricks. You were given all that you need...all that you need. Your job is to stand in the moment and say: I am and it is enough. No more striving to be better. No more striving to change your life. Just “know” it. Project it forward. Take your tricks out of your bag and say: I "know" that the perfect job for me, that feels the following way, is already on the way as I am writing, as I am speaking. Having no doubts. But your mind doesn't like your bag of tricks. And your mind will say: Oh, don't be silly. You know that doesn't work. Well yes, it works for other people but you're not good enough for it to work for you. I talked to a person yesterday, just having a conversation, and they said to me: I really wish I could do this or I really wish I could do that...I know that's not going to happen but boy I sure wish it would. Now what do you think their changes are of making that happen are? Two: slim and none. But the person who absolutely "knows"... My goodness kids how many people have we watched on TV or read about who came from abject poverty, no education, but had inside of them a little fire that says: I am somebody. I'm not the bottom to any pile. I am somebody and my God loves me and this is where I'm going. Didn't know how they were going to get there, that's irrelevant. That's the mind demanding to know "how" and "why" and “where” and "when". I remember a story that Alfred told me quite a few years ago in which he said he “knew” the kind of banking job that he wanted. He wanted to be an International Banker, he wanted to travel, he wanted to do all the things that they do. Nobody was offering him this job and the jobs they did offer him were not what he wanted. But he never lost his belief that that's what would happen to him one day. And out of nowhere one day, a year later I think he said it was, someone said: Well we need somebody to do this kind of a job. We need somebody to travel for us. We need someone to live overseas. And Alfred what did you say? I'm your man or something like that? (laughing)

Alfred:
I'm in. But it has to do with an internal knowing with what you're supposed to do with your life. You have two choices - do you ignore that internal knowing of what you're supposed to do because you think it's just some fantasy of hope dream or do you follow that dream. And that's what we're trying to tell you is that dream that you were born with, those innate skills that you just have, that inner knowing of what you're supposed to do with your life... You can ignore it or you can tie into that magic and tie into the magic of the support of the universe...

Hans:
Yes, and tie into your bag of tricks. Absolutely. So Alfred was there a place where you doubted you would get this kind of a job or did you always know it?

Alfred:
No, I just always knew it. And that's the funny part and that's what I try to teach some of my students is: If you don't know where the words are coming from, if you don't know why you say certain things, if you don't know why you desire certain things - that's where you're supposed to go. If you try to figure out life, if you try to understand life, if you "think yourself into something" , if you can give yourself 10 reasons why you should be doing something, be very afraid, because that's your mind trying to comprehend life. What we're talking about is the miracles in life. That which you don't understand, that which is innate, that which you were born with, that which is just part of you. If you follow "that", then you're going to have a pretty cool life.

Hans:

So again, your bag of tricks centers in your "belief". And Spirit and the Godforce doesn't believe in anyone more in the world than you. When you do, as Alfred was telling you, and you have this absolute innate knowing, you "know" it's true...you don't know how, you don't know where but you "know", you “know” that is going to happen for you because that is the experience that you have chosen. You get your bag of goodies out - trust, belief, faith, knowing - all the energy that is around you is then focused like a magnifying glass and eventually you can burn a hole through all the despair, all the no's, all the aggravations to a clear, new space. So having a quiet knowing, having a quiet understanding that it already is so, that it is already in the making because you have set the intention with trust and faith. You use all your little magic. And you know you never run out. The bag never runs out of tricks...ever. So the same bag of goodies that you arrived with is the same bag of goodies you'll take home with you. So you never run out of: Yes I am; Yes I can. Never. It's only when the mind chatter comes in and starts to tell us "why" something can't happen that we get ourself in trouble. That's why I asked Alfred was there ever a time that you "didn't believe" you would get it. And he said: No, I always knew it. And that folks is the key. So we have seen people come from terrible places, from wars, from concentration camps, limbs lost, families lost and take their life with their bag of tricks and turn it into something rather extraordinary...extraordinary. Because they "knew it", and they "believed it", and they worked and they did what Spirit sent for them to do. Okay? So, yes you are unique. No, no one else has a better bag of tricks than you do. You say: Well how come Joe Blow over there is worth $500,000,000 and I'm worth $500? You don't know what that soul's experience is about. You don't know that. But if you say: I know that I'm going to have more than enough as I do now, but a larger enough. Everything in your life begins to gravitate towards that. I have a client folks that you all know and he lost his fortune 4 times. Count them - 4 times. None of which were his fault. Each time he lost his fortune...some of those fortunes were $200,000,000, $300,000,000... Each time he simply sat down in a chair, got out his bag of magic tricks and within several years had recreated what had been lost. Because there was no place within him that said: I can't do this. There's no place inside of him that turned him into a victim. Oh, look what's been done to me. Didn't have time for that nonsense. Had a "knowing", had an understanding. So each one of you have the same bag, different ingredients, but they equal the same based on your dharma, based on your karma. No one's bag of tricks is greater than anyone else's bag of tricks. Okay? So such joy and hope follow "belief", "knowing", “accepting your divinity”, “accepting the Godforce within you”, “knowing that your God does not love anyone more than you”, knowing no matter how meaningless your life may seem - to a person who can't walk - you getting off your sofa and going for a walk after this show is a miracle beyond comprehension. For a person who can't see - to be able to see a hummingbird, as Alfred saw yesterday, just hanging out - is a miracle. You are a miracle to someone who is dying. The miracle of you is enormous and your bag of tricks never fails. It is always there. It is always there with you. Okay? Alfred I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Being Spiritual in a Human Form
June 14, 2014

Alfred:
Hello everyone and welcome to GUIDANCE FOR YOUR LIFE. This is Alfred the Padawan to the Modern Day Mystic himself who is right next to me. First a few announcements as usual. You know that we're back in Asheville and July 12th we're going to be part of a Spiritual Conference that's happening at the Masonic Temple. We just got the latest information in and we'll be posting that to Facebook as well as our Announcements under "The Spiritual Community" on HansKing.com. Second, on Facebook we just finished our first contest of "Share Hans and Get Your Friends To Like" and we'll be announcing the winner for that coming up on Facebook in the next couple of days once we tally all of the people who have shared and gotten their friends to "Like" us. Third is we've got a lot of appearances for Hans that are coming up during the next couple of weeks so please check our Newsletter. Yes, we know there's a couple of broken links but we're doing our best to work on that. We do the the best we can do that's it. Our intention is to be of service so we love that you're sticking with us and hopefully we're being of service. So that’s it for the announcements.

Hans:
Now Alfred we forgot on little thing that I'd like to bring up. And that is that you wanted...and I know you're going to get embarrassed, but you asked me to remind you to thank all the wonderful people who sent you Birthday Wishes. (Hans Laughing)

Alfred:
Yes, Thank You everyone who sent me birthday wishes. That was very kind of you all.

Hans:
There were a bunch of them so we thank you for that.

Alfred:
I tend not to think about myself when we're focusing on the Radio Show.

Hans:
I know...I know.

Alfred:
It's one of those rare times.

Hans:
But you'll say to me later: Oh why didn't you tell me? I forgot. So...

Alfred:
Today's topic - "Being Spiritual in a Human World" was presented to us by one of our Spiritual Circle Members - Susanna in England. And if you have a topic you'd like to share with us that we'd like to talk about on Air, you can message us on Facebook or you can send it to us via HansKing.com. So again today's topic sent in to us from one of our Spiritual Circle Members - "Being Spiritual in a Human World" and to further explain I present to you the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good afternoon everybody. Wonderful to be back with you. This is a wonderful topic. Many years ago I was reminded of something that I had heard when I was a very young boy and it went like this: Somewhere in the Bible, The Christ is reported to have said: "Learn to be in the Earth but not of it". Wow, that sounds so simple doesn't it? Learn to be in the world...I'll just be spiritual but I won't be a... Well, you know as we go down the path, we find ourselves - since we're angels in human form - we wind up wondering how we got caught up in the appearance of our existence. In other words - reacting. Constantly reacting to things that occur around us. Something someone says or something at work or a disgruntled client or a colleague says something or your mom calls or your dad tells you he's disappointed in you - these types of things. So years ago I attached a little statement to those things that come up in life and the statement was: Not my problem. So being spiritual in a human world, in a human existence, means not reacting to the appearance of difficulty. Knowing that you are perfectly safe, knowing that what needs to happen for you will happen for you. What you need to learn will be presented for you to learn. You can look at that two ways. Number one, you can say: Oh, here's another lesson I think I'll learn that or you can say: Why me? Why do I have to go through this pain? You see what I'm saying? So if you separate yourself from the 'humanness of you'...remember what we've told you - that the body is just a cloak that we wear. That our soul - the essence of our being - remains sacred to Spirit. So when we're trying to be spiritual in a human world it means - who's our old nemesis - mind chatter! It means we make a deliberate attempt not to listen to the mind chatter. Alfred...and listen when I tell you this is not pre-rehearsed - I just sort of give Alfred these things and he looks like a deer in the headlights. Alfred when you were coming out of a very difficult first part of your life when did you notice that there was a separation between your spiritual being and the human world you were involved in?

Alfred:
It's what a lot of us do is we get dragged between the two worlds. In one moment we're happy and blissful and connected and in the other moment we feel that we're getting dragged either through the media, peer pressure, emphasis on money...it's really easy to lose yourself. It's 'what should I be following'? You know, following what's on the media, following what your friends do, following what your parents are telling you seems to be so much easier in the short run than following spiritual principles.

Hans:
Yes, that's very true.

Alfred:
And that's why we're really trying to focus this session on what practices should you focus on to be spiritual in a human world. What things are more important? There are, as you know, hundreds of different spiritual practices. But when you're getting torn back and forth and you don't know which direction to go in then here's some clues.

Hans:
Well you know Alfred, with all the media, peer pressure and the emphasis on money it's really easy to get lost. How do you deal with that?

Alfred:
Well the question is - what do you do? And should you become a chameleon?  Should you blend in? And that's one of the main things that we're trying to emphasis and we're actually reflecting back on what we were talking about in the previous topic is: Your job, in the enlightened path, is to find your own unique individual path. If you're becoming a chameleon and trying to blend in then you're bowing down to peer pressure, you're bowing down to whatever it is around you instead of following your uniqueness. Okay? And so when you're looking at it and say: Okay, you know, I want friends, I want money, I want my job, I want people to like me...

Hans:
Stop...stop for just a second. You just hit on something really, really important - "I want people to like me". Expound upon that for us will you?

Alfred:
It's a human desire to have people like you...

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
... It's a human desire to fit it. It's a human desire to have friends. And what we're telling you is there's two ways to go about it. You can go about it by say being a chameleon and trying to be all Mr. or Ms. popular or you can go the spiritual path which is: You know what, it's my job as a spiritual being in a human body to find my unique path and when I follow that path then people of like vibration, of like mind-set, of like being will be attracted to me. "That which you are you attract". So that's the hard choice. It really is.

Hans:
Yes, it certainly is.

Alfred:
Is to first follow on your spiritual path then wait for those like vibration beings to be attracted to you "or" to just give in and follow what seems to be the easier of the two paths.

Hans:
Alfred, sometimes individuals who are very spiritual have a difficult time in attracting friendships because they tend to see past the illusion and then there's a sense of loneliness that comes. How do you think people who you think are very sensitive and who are very spiritual how can they feel that they're loved as much as people who have lots of friends do you suppose?

Alfred:
Well that goes back to the lesson of self esteem. You are loved, you are enough, you don't need these external things that everybody tells you you need. You don't need to be popular, you don't need to have a bunch of friends. What you need to do is "find who you are". That is a spiritual path. And then once you find out who you are, once you become centered, then you can go out into the world and find true friends according to who you really are. So you can find friends according to your image, according to your ego, according to peer pressure - or you can find yourself and then find your true friends.

Hans:
Excellent...excellent. Because the reason I brought that up Alfred is I have lots of clients who will say to me: I don't feel comfortable Hans in groups of people. I don't feel comfortable with having too many people around me. But then they equate that to: Maybe God doesn't love me or maybe there's something the matter with me and that type of thing... But I like the way you put things. I think it's important for people to remember that they're never alone. That they always have their Guides around them. They always have helpers, they always have friends. So being a spiritual person in a human world...sometimes you feel like you're disconnected from what they call 'reality'. Sometimes very spiritual people don't wind up with a lot or an abundance of friendships. And the question I had for you is that when you were making that transition to having a lot of human friends to having spiritual friends did you feel lonely in that transition between the two? Because I remember it took a little while before you got more friends.

Alfred:
Yes, it's a really difficult transition because what happens is that you end up leaving so many of what you thought were friends who really were acquaintances in a human sense and then working with the Universe, working with your Guidance, working with your Soul Mates, working with your Angels, working with the Universal Energy and that becomes your path. That becomes your source.  That becomes your comfort. It is a completely different mind set about what is important. And it reminds me something that I tell a lot of my clients is: The friends that you've always looked for, the ever supportive, always loving compassionate family that you've always looked for, the support you've always looked for, is always there but you have to give up the human attachment in order to get the truly supportive, truly compassionate, truly loving ability to connect with Spirit, with the Universe is you can't have both. It's really difficult to hold onto your human friends, to hold onto your humanness...

Hans:
And there's nothing the matter with those friends, Alfred.

Alfred:
Well it depends if they are of like vibration or not.

Hans:
They simply don't fit.

Alfred:
Yes. So in some sense there is a little bit of a problem because they may be dragging you down. They may be trying to trying to deal with you on a peer pressure basis and a lot of times you're giving up friends left and right and what's left? Dealing with invisible people you can't see that you're having faith, trust and belief that they really do exist.

Hans:
Right. Well put.

Alfred:
That is a very difficult transition.

Hans:
Well put. What practices should you focus on to be spiritual in the human world? This was part of the original question sent in by Susanna in England. What practice? Faith and belief that you already are enough. That Spirit, in it's infinite wisdom, is in the process of drawing to you all the lessons that you have chosen to learn. But they're also drawing to you all the possibilities of learning those lessons. They don't just say: Here's a piece of paper with a whole bunch of stuff on it, deal with it. No, they don't do that. They present you with the lesson, a repetitive thing that keeps coming up in your life over and over and over. But they also present you with the spiritual answer that if you be still and say to Spirit: I am now available to understand the purpose in this lesson. You will hear, very shortly, a very quiet sound coming from your spiritual being through your chest. Then you say: Aah, I was wondering about that. Maybe that's what the lesson is. What's the greatest lesson for old souls - always children - self esteem. So many, many things will be presented to you under the guise of self esteem and how you handle those directly relates to your spiritual character. So practicing spirituality in the humanness of your life opens the door for the lessons, opens the door to clear the path that you see better, opens the door to let you come away from victimizations of the lesson. It opens a whole new set of being. So practice - love, acceptance, compassion. And those things right there - practice them on yourself first. Okay? Alfred.

Alfred:
And that's a really good thing to focus on. If you're going to be focusing on something it's self esteem: I am enough. I am perfect. So that it gives you the strength, the inner strength to make the right decision, to go the path that you know that's right, to go against peer pressure, to go against the grain of what you see everybody else going towards. To go against what maybe some life long friends are telling you, to go against what your family is telling you and to go "with" the direction of what you feel inside to be correct. That really requires some self esteem. That requires some self confidence. That what you're feeling inside is really the right path “for” you.

Hans:
That is tough Alfred. That is tough. Another question Alfred, should you practice energetic boundaries? For many people Alfred energetic boundaries sounds very complicated. It really isn't. I'm sure you know that right?

Alfred:
Yes and this is something that we talk about in the Intuitive Development Class is the more spiritual you become, the more you become sensitive to the vibrations of others. And as we've been talking about there's a lot of things that are not going to be of like vibration as you go down your spiritual path. And in order to deal with those things sometimes you have to deal with people or situations that you really don't think are of like vibration. You can feel the negativity, you can feel the negative energy. Then we say: Protect yourself energetically. You're not blocking the person, you're not having a judgment of the person. You're just saying: I'm putting up an energetic boundary around me so that negative vibration, that negative energy just doesn't affect me as I become more spiritual. It's helping you stay centered. It's really helping you adjust to your new way of being and it's a wonderful practice to help in that adjustment as you go from being human to being much more spiritual in a human world.

Hans:
Well, absolutely. And one of the things that I taught Alfred early days was learning to put that invisible bubble around you. That invisible white light. So that...one of the things I always say is tell Spirit: To please bring light into that that might bring darkness around you today. Darkness could be somebody else's 'thinking' that is counter productive to you, it could be the news, it could be any sense of small - like depression, your own mind chatter. "Please bring light into that that would bring darkness around me today". And just picture that little thin energetic wall being put up around you. It keeps you in the mix but it becomes once again "learning to be in the world but not of it". Alfred this is a good one. How can you have compassion for others but still stay on track with oneself? I believe those are two entirely different issues. You can always practice compassion for others by having no judgment of them. By whatever you see they're doing, whatever they're saying, whatever they're saying to you or to others, whatever it is - so long as you send them compassion. I don't judge you, bless you. I say "to bless you" I don't know how many times a day. But you can still stay on the track with one's self. Alfred?

Alfred:
Staying on track with oneself is absolutely the most important thing. Staying true to your unique path, your Guidance, being in touch with the Universe, being centered, being peaceful, having non-judgment, realizing nothing's wrong, keeping your vibration high - that is absolutely the first and foremost what you should be focusing on. And then while you're in that peaceful place, yes, you can have compassion for others - for what they're going through. But first of all realizing there is nothing wrong with what they're going through. There are a great many people in the world going through a great many things that are on unique paths that have asked to experience very unique things. Your job is not to have a judgment. If there's no judgment it really shouldn't sway you. That's one of the topics that we've gone over many, many times is having no judgment, having no opinion of what's going on. However, when you see suffering, when you see pain, when you see agony, absolutely you can have compassion for people to try to understand what's going on to determine if you should be involved in trying to alleviate the pain and suffering that is going on. And if not, you're not going to get involved, then there's no reason you shouldn't bless the person. So compassion really shouldn't take you off of your center. Always you want to be in your center before going out to serve, to make sure you are connected, you are who you truly are, your Guidance is with you. So make sure when you see pain and suffering in the world that you first go to your center and make sure that there is no judgment of the situation, you have no opinion of what's going on and from that point, I think, is a good start to have compassion for what's going on around you. So Hans what do you think about being a chameleon in a human world?

Hans:

Well I think what's really important for people to understand is they don't have to be a chameleon. What they have to do is 'don't fit in to dysfunction'. Make yourself unique. Make yourself different. Chameleons blend into their surroundings so nobody will see them, so nobody will know that they're there. They hide from the appearance of physical reality. What I'm saying to everyone is: Let your light shine. Let your spiritual light shine. Learn to be in the world but not of it. Carve your own path in life and people will say: Wow, you've got a really great life. If you listen to the questions from so many of our wonderful people, you can hear them as they struggle while learning to be in the world but not of it. But what Spirit continues to look at is: Have you set your intention? And so they don't look at the deed, they still look at the intention. So don't be a chameleon. Blend in but don't become "of it". You can walk through the world but you don't have to come of the world. Okay? So being spiritual in a human world means opening yourself up to all the uniqueness that is inherent in your spiritual being. Alfred I think that will conclude the lesson for today.

We usually include a free audio lesson if you're in our Newsletter and find out what other free stuff that we're giving away.

Hans:
I like free stuff Alfred.

Alfred:
Yes, lots of free stuff.

Hans:
I like that.

Alfred:
Lots of free stuff on HansKing.com actually. On the top it says "Free Stuff". And there's a lot of free stuff in there.

Hans:
There's a lot of power in free stuff I think.

Alfred:
Yes. Our job is to be of service. We're not here to make money.

(Alfred and Hans Laughing)

Hans:
And that's born out so far so that's a good thing.

Alfred:
We're still doing okay so thanks for being there and listening to us. So again this is Alfred the young Padawan Learner to the Modern Day Mystic himself and we have a very enlightened topic today. This was sent in from two different people. One was our good friend from Colorado who sent in a question about this last night and also our newly indoctrinated youngling Esperanza in San Francisco. The topic of today is "What Is Enlightenment". So without further ado I present the Modern Day Mystic himself Hans Christian King.

Hans:
Good afternoon everybody. Welcome, welcome, welcome. What a subject. What a topic. "What Is Enlightenment". Wow. One of the most asked questions in the human scene is: What “is” enlightenment? Enlightenment comes in several different ways on several different paths. I believe, and my Guidance confirms because they told me - that enlightenment is the unburdening of the human scene. The letting go of the appearance of what your mind perceives as reality. Seeing past judgments, seeing past fear, seeing past confusion and doubt to simply "being". When you learn how to "be in the moment", then you stop seeking after what you don't understand and you accept: Aah, I am simply here and that is all there is for now. So enlightenment is the unburdening of perception. It's the lack, the absence if you will, of mind chatter. When you unburden yourself one drop at a time, you can feel enlightenment beginning to take hold. Alfred any comments so far on what we're talking about?

Alfred:
Well I'm going to give a couple of light examples of what enlightenment is. And if you just look at the word - the first one enlightenment - I like to look at it to "become lighter". And what happens every time you have an epiphany, you have an Ah-Ha moment, you have a breakthrough, you let something go... You feel "lighter", okay. And the second thing is, we had an example a couple of times we told you about protecting yourself, creating mind chatter is like: It rains I'm going to hold up an umbrella. Oh, it rains I'm going to hold up an umbrella. It rains, I'm going to hold up an umbrella. Why don't I just leave the umbrella up and then you wonder where did the sun go? Why isn't there any sun? Why doesn't the sun shine on me? So by letting go of your umbrella that's protecting you, by letting go of those things that protect you you let the “light” in. So those are my two examples of enlightenment. So I've got a good question for you Hans.

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
And this is something I thought about when I was first starting.

Hans:
Um hm-mm.

Alfred:
Our people had asked us: Is enlightenment a destination or is it a spiritual awakening process?

Hans:
Aaahhh. Enlightenment is never a destination. It is a “happening”. Because each person enlightens themselves hopefully in their lifetime a bit differently. Spirit tells me that the lesson of enlightenment is the path "to" enlightenment. It's the recognition if you will of what is keeping you burdened, what's keeping you down, what's weighing on you. So the unburdening of “yourself” is the attempt of your soul to literally "lighten" or "enlighten" yourself. So it's not so much Alfred the destination in this case as it is the journey of awareness.

Alfred:
I like to actually think of enlightenment as the very first time you say: There has to be something else. There has to be something more. And you start looking for something more and then when you first hit that very first thing and you say: Aaaaahhhh, Whoa, that's pretty cool! That's at the point where I think your enlightenment journey begins and that you become more enlightened as you continue on this path of doing the inner work and letting go. So on the question of is enlightenment an end point or is the journey of awakening, I think we both agree that it's the beginning of awakening, it is the journey of awakening, it is the process of awakening.

Hans:
To strive to want to become enlightened is in fact an enlightening moment. Because it sets an intention. We are so, Alfred, caught up in the appearance of the drama of our human scene that we actually whenever the light tries to shine into us we block it off. We say: Oh well you know I don't know about that. You know this sounds too complicated and my drama is real because I can feel that it's real. I know some of you, my dear friends out there, have been planting your garden and planting your yard for the summer and fall and getting excited about your plants. I put my tomato cages up today, I actually installed 3 little tomato bushes which are now ten times the size they were when I put them in. And this year I'm not going to have an expectation of them. I'm going to just tell them to do whatever makes you feel best. And I want you all to do the same thing to yourself. Stop setting all these expectations of enlightenment and just do one day at a time. And in that day find one thing that weighs heavily on your heart, just one thing, a memory perhaps, a sense of not being heard, a sense of frustration. Now just take that one thing and say to Spirit: I choose to enlightenment myself today by disengaging from this thought any longer. Alfred?

Alfred:
And that's a good example of trying to help people...one of the main issues of spirituality verses humanness is you can't approach spirituality the way you approach humanness. Humanness is all about attaining, getting, accomplishing and one of the questions that was sent in was: What does it mean to attain enlightenment? And what we're trying to tell you is you don't attain enlightenment. It never finishes...

Hans:
No.

Alfred:
...it is the journey.

Hans:
This is why I removed the term “destination” Alfred.

Alfred:
Okay. So in terms of what does it mean to attain enlightenment, it doesn't. It means that you have “begun” to awaken, you have “begun” to do the inner work, you are on a path of “enlightenment”, you are on an “enlightened path” and every time you go back to the Other Side you're going to review how you do on that “enlightened path”. But what we're trying to tell you is...okay, unless you're Hans King...

Hans:
Hey watch it...

Alfred:
...you really don't attain enlightenment. Again one of the most basic spiritual practices is that it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. And that has to do with enlightenment also. It's about the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. And it is about that journey, how you carry yourself. So that’s our view on attaining enlightenment. And another question is: Can you tell when you “are” enlightened? What do you think about that Hans?

Hans:
I think that's wonderful. What does it mean to attain enlightenment? It means not to worry anymore. Not to keep setting expectations of things that you simply don't know. That's hard. That's not easy to do. We have this deep seated human needs for things to show up in our expectation so that we can prove that God loves us so we can prove that we're on the right track. Enlightenment comes from a quiet knowing. All is well. I'm on my path. Regardless of how I perceive the path to be, my god knows I'm on the path. Just before Maya Angelou passed away two weeks ago she had emailed two days before and talked about perhaps we need to stop looking outwards and we needed to start looking inwards. And that perhaps if we did that we just might meet and find ourself. This is what I'm trying to say. Enlightenment is not something Alfred where you turn a certain corner and there are banners and headlines and bands and whistles and all of these things. No, no, no. There's no reward at the top of the mountain. It was, like you were saying, it was the “process of letting go of what doesn’t work for you anymore”. And fear and doubt for you very old souls, and I've talked to most of you, so you very old souls remember something: That you're not alone. No matter what your thinking may say to you. Walk in the light towards the light. For those of you who are putting in a garden like I am, remember something – you're  giving life to something - be with that life. And as the plants, the flowers begin to prosper, grow, bloom and produce fruit, so will you. Okay?

Alfred:
And the biggest question Hans everybody's been asking is: Is there a path to enlightenment? And I think people maybe just don't understand the words because explaining God in human terms is rather difficult...

Hans:
Well you can't actually do it.

Alfred:
You can't really do that. But basically the path to enlightenment, your enlightenment journey is assisted by what we teach you every single week. What others teach you.

Hans:
And anything we keep pounding them on the head with.

Alfred:
The basics as we like to call it, any of the lessons that we give you give you help you on your personal journey...

Hans:
Yes.

Alfred:
...on your personal spiritual path.

Hans:
So is there a path to enlightenment? Yes, learning how to just “be”. Now that's not the answer you want most of you. I understand that. Learning to shut off the mind chatter which is constantly running with judgment, perception, anger, resentment, fear, doubt, all of these things - shut that off. Simply shut them off. That is enlightenment. Having no judgment of other people is enlightenment. Actually hearing the wind in the trees is enlightenment. Learning to love yourself is enlightenment. Each and every one of you can get to that place of enlightenment by simply learning: You already are enough for God. You see? Sometimes we're going about our daily life and a friend says: Oh, I hear there's this great movie over here. And you say: Okay, well let's go to the movie. And you go to the movie, you get all involved in the movie, and the scenes and the acting and all of that... But is that who you are, the movie? No. You get up, put your coat on, go back outside into your daily life. This is what you do when you come here. Is you come here to watch a movie of which you participate in. But is it who you are? No. Who you are is that baby angel I've been talking to you about for many, many years. That's who you are. That's who God sees. And that God that loves you so holds no judgment of you whatsoever. So enlightenment comes from learning how to be, learning to be still, and listen to the love...witness the love of who you are in your own heart. Yes, Mr. Alfred.

Alfred:
There are many teachers that take many, many different paths to help you understand what is a path to enlightenment. And the first thing we try to emphasis, we believe everybody should emphasis, that your path to enlightenment is going to be different than anyone else's path to enlightenment.

Hans:
Yes, emphasize that again.

Alfred:
Okay. Your unique path to enlightenment is going to be different than anyone else's. Why? Because your dharma, your path in life is comprised of all of your other lives, all of your karma, all of your experiences in this life. Everything you wanted to experience, the individual people that you wanted to experience them with. Yes, everybody's a human soul having a human experience but “what” you wanted to experience and how you wanted to experience it, and the lessons you wanted to learn, and the experiences that you wanted to have while down here are unique to you. Thus your specific path to enlightenment is going to be unique to you. And that's why we like to say: We'll help as much as we possibly can but please feel free to look up other methods, other teachers, so you can find what works for you and our teachings. Find the specific teachings that work for you.

Hans:
It's like going to a Chinese Restaurant Alfred. Ordering something out of Column A, Column B.

Alfred:
Um hmm.

Hans:
But remember, no teacher, that includes me, no teacher holds all you need to hear. That's impossible. But what they do have is the wisdom of their experience, their connection with Spirit, their connection with God, and what they know works for them. And if this helps you, wonderful. But remember, every teacher no matter who they are, has a limit. And they themselves are busy enlightening themselves. And the more they enlighten themselves the more they can share with you. I have been on this path now as you know for in excess of 55 years so I have been blessed to be on a path that has served me very well, allowed me to serve others. But, as Alfred says we also recommend that you look beyond our limitations if you find something that's important to you, add it to your repertoire of understanding. I think that's the way to go. Mr. Alfred?

Alfred:
And taking that into account here's a good question: How does the lesson of self esteem help you on your enlightened path?

Hans:
Oh, Alfred it's enormous. Very good. I don't know who sent that in but that's great.

Alfred:
Okay and Hans has been talking about with old souls that one of their primary lessons is self esteem. Hans what's your opinion on self esteem and an individual's spiritual path?

Hans:
Well as I've often said to you Alfred and to the audience, all old souls primary lesson is self esteem or the value of their own soul. Understanding that is one thing. Living it is something entirely different. Self esteem, being and accepting that you are the best you can possibly be already, that no experience is going to make you a better person to Spirit. You will have your own enlightenment journey but that's a separate process. Self esteem - being equal to the value of your own soul - is key in enlightenment. Because once you accept you as being the primary source of enlightenment in your life, you are that source of enlightenment. In other words, when you seek you will find, always. So allowing yourself to love yourself, to accept yourself...I want to say jumps you light years ahead in your enlightenment process. Becoming enough is very important Alfred.

Alfred:
And it really is important because we're going to try to emphasis to you that no two paths are the same which means when you start your spiritual journey, when you start your path to enlightenment, you may find yourself many times alone on a unique path with possibly no other people around you.

Hans:
Yes, isn't that wonderful...

Alfred:
So you may have other spiritual people around you but your unique path may from time to time take you to places where you are alone. And if you learn the lesson or are working on the lesson of self esteem that you yourself are enough, that you have confidence in yourself, that you trust yourself, that you trust your Guidance, that is really going to help you on your unique path. So they actually go hand in hand. The further you go down the rabbit hole of enlightenment the further you're going to find yourself away from the norm, further on a unique path and relying on the strength of your soul, the confidence in your soul, and your trust, faith and belief in God.

Hans:
So in other words, the more you let go, the more you refuse to listen to the mind chatter... I did something the other day folks, please find the humor in it. But the Fox Channel at MSNBC, my radio and my TV are very close to each other and often I will bounce back and forth for about a half hour listening to the rhetoric on both sides. And I have to say this to you: There's a lot of anger in this world. A lot of frustration. But if you watch that type of thing, you literally pollute your own mind. We're going to be dealing with this in another show about mind pollution. Learning not to put your mind to the task of trying to understand something that doesn't make any sense in the first place I think is very important. Alright Alfred I think that concludes the lesson for today unless you have any parting words of wisdom.

Alfred:
No, that's it for now. I think this is a wonderful topic...

Hans:
It is indeed...

Alfred:
...to help people understand.

Hans:

And I thank Alfred everybody who helped with these issues. Thank you Nancy and of course another lady in San Francisco, she helped with these, Esperanza. So I thank both of you for bringing these to our attention.
