Topic: Fall Cleaning
October 24, 2015

HANS:
Hi Everyone. Today’s topic is “Fall Cleaning.” As many of you know who’ve been with the show for the last five years, my favorite season is fall. People say to me, “Why? It looks like everything’s dying!” That’s exactly why I love it so much. It’s the end of a time; and what is happening is all the old that doesn’t work anymore begins to… fade away. This is the time of year I ask you all to sit down and make a list of all the things you don’t want to participate in your life anymore. All the things that don’t work for you. Things you’re not willing to give energy to anymore.

Why do we do that? The same reason that trees shed all their leaves because new growth can’t grow where old growth is. So they have to drop their leaves, prepare to go into hibernation. Clean themselves up inside, drop the sap, and rest. And then as we get towards March and April, they begin to slowly resurrect themselves. You can do the same thing, but you don’t have to wait so long. This is the time of letting go. One of Alfred’s favorite topics is letting go.

ALFRED:
Yes, actually we have a little saying that has to do with: no two things can be in the same place at the same time.

We’ll pick an example, we get a lot of clients asking us about relationships - you’re in a relationship that’s not working, and you’re asking God - where’s my new relationship? And the most common answer is…

HANS:
...you have to let go of what you’re holding onto first.

ALFRED:
Spirit needs to see your intention, your desire, your trust. Trust, that if I let go of what I have, I trust the next stage is going to come. Hence the example of the tree letting go of its leaves - it trusts instinctively it’s going to get new leaves.

HANS:
It knows that. It’s internal. What we need to do is be more like the trees. When we make the list of the things we choose not to participate in anymore, we’re saying to God, I trust that you have another plan. I’m going to let go of what I’m holding onto now for dear life, in the knowledge that it doesn’t work for me anymore. In the knowledge, I’m going to clean myself up, I’m going to get ready for my new beginning. You see? So, in my world, letting go is gaining.

ALFRED:
Which is the opposite of what your mind tells you. It’s the time we start talking to you about mind chatter. What to look for in mind chatter when mind chatter tells you, “No, you can’t let go. What happens if you can’t get anything else and nothing else shows up?”

HANS:
Oh dear, what a painful life that could be.

ALFRED:
So I don’t want to let go of what’s causing me to be miserable, because I might not have anything. So as soon as your mind chatter tells you I can’t let go of what I have because I might get something worse, or I might not get anything or anyone, you say, “At least I’ll be peaceful.”

HANS:
Yes. The tree goes into a peaceful time. We live here in Asheville, North Carolina, and we sit in the middle of the trees and we see baby trees coming up, we see the tops of older trees, but they’re all doing the same thing, no matter what the age of the tree is - they’re letting go. And that’s the key folks, trust and believe.

The tree never wonders if it will spring to life again come next year - never! It let’s go of it’s leaves; some of those leaves may have a fungus on them, and so the letting go cleans the tree up. When a bear goes in for hibernation it never wonders whether it’s going to wake up in the spring, it knows it. When we begin to let go of the things that don’t work in our lives any more, as Alfred mentioned, the mind chatter gets very active. What do you mean? You can’t let go of this? This is all you have! When you’re hanging onto a relationship that simply doesn’t work anymore, when you’re hanging on for dear life, are you hanging on because you love the person or are you hanging on because you think that’s all you got and will ever have?

The tree knows to let go of the leaves. You don’t see the tree trying to hold on through winter with it’s leaves on. We need to also believe that when we let go and we’re willing to move forward in the light, all of our dreams suddenly are made possible.

ALFRED:
And that brings us up to topic number two. What happens after you let go?

HANS:
If you’re in human form you often go though the “Oh my God, what have I done!”

ALFRED:
Mind chatter comes up again and says, “Get him back!”

HANS:
Folks, I cannot tell you how many times I’ll be in a reading with somebody and they’ll say, “Hans, do you think I can get him back?” And I will say these words, “Well what happened to all the pain of before?”

“It’ll be different this time.”

No, it won’t. Let it go. Love the person you’re letting go, bless them, let them go, and that’s it. Know that Spirit will take them where they need to be and will open the doors because at the end of each show you hear me say - always remember, kids, God doesn’t love anyone more in this world than you - and God’s not loving that person less than God is loving you just because you have an opinion of what happened to the relationship. It’s only your opinion. That’s all it is.

ALFRED:
So after you let go, what’s in store? What happens then? That’s what we call the void. What’s the void do? It creates space.

HANS:
It creates a vacuum. We all were taught in school that a vacuum cannot exist, something comes in to fill the void, the vacuum. Your job as spiritual beings in human form is to make the void good. Make it wonderful. Don’t make it a challenge. It’s peaceful. The void is a peaceful place.

I have a rocking chair out here on my front porch that looks directly at the trees and the forest. I go out there in the morning with my coffee and I sit down, and in that moment I become one with the trees. At that moment I see squirrels, woodpeckers, voles, chipmunks, we’ve got a mama bear now with four cubs, and I become part of all I see.

ALFRED:
So it’s in the void you become clear about what you want in your life. What you don’t want in your life. What you would like with your life. You can work on cleaning other areas of your life, making sure there’s a nice clean place for the next stage in your life.

HANS:
One of the things that Spirit teaches us, Alfred, is that we can’t create a masterpiece over a masterpiece. We have to be willing to take the masterpiece we have and go hang it on the wall and start from a blank, clean place. And that’s what the void is.

ALFRED:
That’s the way a painter loves to work. The way Spirit loves to work is when they come in, a blank space. When you’re learning to channel you need to be a blank space. When you go into mediation, you search for a blank space. You are happy when you are peaceful and there is a blank space in your life. So actually having space in your life is a positive; not just for spiritual growth, not just for letting go of the things that don’t serve you anymore, but because you’re making space for the next stage in your life - whether it’s a relationship, a job, or whatever else is going away - you’re making space for the next thing to come in.

HANS:
And it always comes in. So what you want to look forward to in the void is the nothingness. That’s the key. You have an opportunity in cleaning out the old. There is an opportunity to discover the self buried under all the minutia, all the stuff you’ve piled on top of your heart, piled on top of your spiritual being. You’ve just covered it up, covered it up. There comes a time when you can say, “Oh, there you are! I forgot you!”

And so, you come in with nothing and you go out with nothing, but in the meantime, this quiet beautiful space of you exists outside of the mind - the mind chatter - so the fall is the time to begin the renewal process of our soul.

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Being a Seeker
September 12, 2015

HANS:
Hi everybody. The topic for today is "Being a Seeker." In the Bible, it says: Remember that a Seeker findeth always. A Seeker findeth always.

What is a Seeker? A Seeker is someone who has learned that their life is a bit of an illusion and wants to see beyond the illusion... wants to see what other experiences... how they might expand their consciousness... how they might become someone other than who they are now... because time and society has molded them into a certain character, a certain mold.

And they're looking to see what else there might be. That is why our belief system is growing so rapidly around the world... especially here around the United States and Canada. Why? Because people are looking to go beyond the norms. They're looking to expand themselves. Alfred, you went through the Seeker phase, didn't you?

ALFRED:
Yes. It's when you start realizing that the paradigms, the rules, the ways of being, that are meant for all people, may not apply to you as an individual. And that's the big thing about spirituality. Spirituality is you are are individual soul with an individual unique body with a unique life-path, a unique karma, a unique set of previous lives that led up to this life. Your experiences are going to be unique. Thus, the rules that apply to you are going to be different for you.

How they apply to you are going to be different for you. The ones that you decide to follow, the ones that “fit” your incarnation for this life are going to be unique to you. Thus, what we say, is: A Seeker is an individual finding his or her own unique path in this life.

HANS:
Growth path... Exactly, exactly. So when you reach a point that you say: This... whatever "this" is for you... This doesn't work anymore for me. I'm not feeling comfortable in this. I'm not feeling comfortable in what I'm doing, I'm not feeling comfortable in how I'm spending my time. Okay? All you have to do is say to Spirit: I seek a new beginning... I seek a new beginning... and I set my intention to look beyond the limitations I have allowed others and myself to place upon me. I now seek a larger experience.

I remember a gentleman that I knew who was a fabulous computer chip designer... recognized by his peers. And one day he said to me: I need to look beyond the bowl I've placed myself in. I feel like a goldfish in a bowl. And I think you've all seen that commercial on TV that goes around today, where the goldfish jumps out of the bowl, and they put it back in the bowl. He said: That's how I felt... that he couldn't breathe anymore.

He was not able to know even who he was. He knew what he could do, and he was very good at what he could do. I said: Well, what do you want to do? He said: I want to live in Hawaii and have a Center and teach. That's what I want to do. I knew it for a long time. And coming from where he was, he would require a partner to help him to do that. And one day, in his 60's, that partner, she came along... and they both shared the same vision.

Today, that person and the partner have a Center in Hawaii doing very well and they're very happy. How did that happen? Because he set his intention to serve. He set his intention to be the Seeker he always wanted to be and he stopped looking backwards to go forwards. So, a Seeker says: Yes, I can. Yes, I am. You've had that experience before, haven't you Alfred?

ALFRED:
Yes. And basically what we're talking about here in being a Seeker is you really have two choices - to follow what society says, what your education says, what your parents say, what your family, your friends, the television, the media... to follow "that," which are generalizations meant for everybody, and look for your life in that way "or" to seek alternative ways of thinking... alternative perceptions, alternative ways of being.

We do our best to present to you through this Weekly Show, these Topics, our Products, our Classes - to present to you a lot of different perspectives to help you decide what are you going to follow, how are you going to think, how are you going to be.

HANS:
When you decide that your existence doesn't serve you any longer, then it's time to say: Oh, who locked my door? And the truth of the matter is - that you did. You put yourself in the box and locked the door.

ALFRED:
Yes, and that's where it starts is the choice.

HANS:
It's their choice... Exactly.

ALFRED:
In this topic it is a choice to follow what society in general follows, or the choice  to seek an individual path.

HANS:
That's right. I have another lady friend of mine, who some years ago, she was a Massage Therapist... very well recognized with a very good practice out in Palo Alto, California. She didn't have a lot of money. And she said: Hans, I want to move to Hawaii. But I couldn't possibly afford to do that. I said: No,  you couldn't. So you won't get to go.

She said: Well, why are  you saying that? I said: I'm not, you are. You're saying that. You're saying you can't afford to go. Spirit isn't saying that. I said: Since when is Spirit not your bank account? She went to her grandmother and she got a little loan. Her name is Hilda. And she watched for the best priced ticket she could get and off she went to Maui.

And she met someone on the plane, a nice young lady, and they got to talking back and forth.. and it went along... and the short of it is she became a Real Estate Agent. She went to school, she did the massage therapy, she worked in one of the major Hotels there, she earned a living. And now she owns at least 10 or 15 properties, she's happily married, she's living in Maui, and the last time I talked to her, she said: Hans, a Seeker does find... always.

So I think what's important for all of you to understand is you all need to become Seekers. If you listen to the lovely questions that Alfred and I get every week, you can hear in the "asking" the wondering if things will change... the wondering if you'll be okay... the realization that your life often times isn't going in the direction you would like it to go.

That's when you sit down and say: Enough... enough. You get your friends around you, I'm talking about your Spiritual Friends everybody, sit down with your beverage and you say: Oh, time for a new beginning. You see?

And the minute you say that, Spirit starts the disconnect of what's binding you. They don't look at your dharma and say: Oh, well she can't do this because of that... and she'll never be able to do this because of this. They don't do that. They say: Oh, she gets it. The Seeker is now "aware”. And that's what I want all of you to become is a Seeker who becomes "aware."

Alfred, that's what happened to you... you became "aware."

ALFRED:
Yes. You become aware that you have a choice. And that's where it starts.

HANS:
Absolutely.

ALFRED:
You have a choice to follow all of these things that everybody tells you you should follow. I don't care how much you paid for your education, I don't care what your parents' background is, what they firmly believe, what your family tried to drill into you, what the television, the media tried to pound into you - it all starts with understanding "you have a choice," "you have alternatives," and you make that choice.

HANS:
You know you say something here, Alfred, that I think is very important for people to hear. You kept saying in your speaking right now "you have a choice." Do you know that most people don't know that?

ALFRED:
That's why we're saying that.

HANS:
That's why we're here.

ALFRED:
I didn't know...

HANS:
No, you didn't...

ALFRED:
That's where it started. I didn't know I had a choice. I didn't know I had a choice. And so now we're going to be talking about our second topic which is: What is the choice? What could you seek? What is that alternative? What is a Seeker seeking?

You can make the choice to say I don't believe the rhetoric... I don't believe the media... Something's just a little weird with what somebody's telling me. What is it? What are the things that you can seek once you make a choice?

HANS:
Anything... anything. Don't we love the story, folks, of people who are born in the life in abject poverty and they struggle and they work and they try to get an education but they always know they're better and bigger than what the  circumstances tells them they are... whatever circumstance they're in. They work hard. And one day, magic appears.. magic.

And, I've said this for years, if you go and read any biography or auto-biography of any person you think is well known, famous, whatever... somewhere in the book, these words will appear, maybe not in this order, but they will say: And I always knew it.

That's called: Setting your intention and being a Seeker. They always knew. There was no room for doubt. None. Anything that came into their life that was a problem... Oh, this was something that the resolve is already on the way... the fixing this is already on the way. So they never looked at being a Seeker. They never looked at the blocks as a block... they looked at them as a possibility.

ALFRED:
And that's what we call "Truth." What is true for you? What is true for your life path? What is true for you as an individual? What are the experiences that you wish to have in this incarnation? Those things, you'll “feel” inside. They are not things you can think, memorize, understand. No. That's the other side. What we're trying about is the side of you that can feel what is right for you, as an individual.

HANS:
Yes. So what can happen to you if you're a Seeker? Anything you want. There is almost no dharmic roadblock or lesson that is ever designed, or karmic debt, that is ever designed to keep you off your path and keep you from your dreams. That's all humanness... simply humanness.

So when you become a Seeker, you say: I believe. I believe. I don't know how, I don't know where, I don't know when, but I believe. And when you do that, when you set that intention, when you become that personal Seeker, the truest and the greatness of your purpose is drawn to you - always.

Alfred is now getting his book underway. That's going to be published. He's got his wonderful "Business in Spirituality” Seminars going. It all started when I said: What do you want to do? He said: I want to teach. That's what you're doing.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
You went from working in a bank to being a Spiritual Teacher.

ALFRED:
Yes, and a lot of that... what we're going to be talking about, starts with not just a "choice," but then the belief is that there is something more than what is obvious. What is obvious is in the human realm. What is obvious is what your parents tell you, what the TV tells you, what your education tells you. That's "obvious."

HANS:
I call that "program limitation."

ALFRED:
Yes, that's humanness.

HANS:
That's humanness.

ALFRED:
What we're trying to tell you is to believe, to surrender, into something that is "not obvious". What is not obvious is what is for you, in your specific path. What is true for you, for your specific life. And that takes Faith, Trust and Belief and a lot of Surrendering. We have another topic on "Faith, Trust and Belief". But what we're talking about is, first to make the choice, and then to surrender into that.

What we're talking about in "choices"... For example, is you can try to follow what everything tells you in Western education, Western media, which is you get what you negotiate, you get what you control. We're saying: You have a choice to surrender, to let go, to work with the Universe, to let your life flow in the direction it's supposed to flow.

That is a choice. You don't have to control everything. You don't have to manipulate. You can simply “Be.” See, that is one of the choices that we're talking about here is to go in the opposite direction in order to find your unique path and that has to do with surrendering into things you may not understand.

HANS:
Thank you... appreciate that. So yes, you too can be a Seeker. You have to set your intention. And above all things, my friends, you must "believe" that when you set your intention, Spirit is standing beside you and you say: I would like the experience of this... I would like the experience of that. A Seeker is someone who says: This life I'm living does not represent who I am. I'm living in an imaginary world that I created... that my parents created... the schools created.

I remember one thing that Alfred used to talk about a long time ago, is all the education he had to get just to be the Banker. It was a huge amount of education. He had double majors... in what was it?

ALFRED:
Double major in Economics and Business and a Graduate Degree in Business.

HANS:
And he's teaching Spirituality.

ALFRED:
Yes.

HANS:
And if you think that was easy for him to get to... You see this white hair here? (Hans laughing) It's not been easy friends. But one thing he had was intention to Seek. And that's what I want all of you to have is the Intention to Seek. To seek a greater you, a greater experience, a happier you, a joyful experience. Anything you want, you can create. All the great teachers have always known this. We're only limited by our own imagination - period. That's all. That's it. We're limited by our own imagination. Yes, you can; and Yes, I am.

And that will conclude the lesson for today.

Topic: Lost Expectations
June 20, 2015

HANS:
Oh, Hi everybody! It's so great to be back onto a regular schedule again. We've been all over creation and working, doing lectures, workshops, what-have-you and so I've been back home... For those of you who've been emailing me "How am I doing" - I'm doing better folks. I had a really, really nasty lung infection and a great doctor over here has got me up and running. I feel so much better, I can't tell you.

So I want to talk today about "Lost Expectations." How do we handle Lost Expectations? You know - "A wish is a prayer the heart makes." And sometimes we get ourself locked into something that will change our life or make us feel better and we start to get invested in it and we start planning what we're going to do when "that' happens and how our life is going to get better because this happens.  But there's also a little tiny thing in there that says "If I get it, God still loves me."

I had a lady say that to me yesterday: I know if this shows up Hans, it proves to me that God still loves me. God always loves you. Not every thing that you're praying for and hoping for comes true in the moment. But if you're patient, and I needed to use some patience today, believe me when I tell you... And I caught myself getting very fussy about something that I knew I had no control over. But it was an expectation that I had to give up.

In any case, coming back up the mountain tonight I thought to myself: Perhaps this is a good time to practice what I preach. And so I caught myself laughing and I'm still doing it. Expectations... Lost Expectations. Because something doesn't show up in your expectation in the moment and/or in the timing does not children, again does not mean anything is wrong. On the contrary, it's working it thing through... for you.

Most things that we pray for come true in one form or another, if we're patient. We get impatient when it doesn't show up in our time expectation. Then we start to add all kinds of negative energy to it. Have you noticed that Alfred, when something doesn't show up in our expectation time wise, we start running our mind crazies?

ALFRED:
Absolutely. And the issue here is that the mind thinks it not only can expect something externally but it actually has some type of control over what happens outside of us.

HANS:
Exactly.

ALFRED:
And the spiritual truth is that you have little or no control over what happens outside of you. So when your mind has an expectation of the result of what's going to happen, but the spiritual truth is that you really have no control over anything outside of you, you're literally just wasting energy. See, your mind is really lying to you telling you have control and people should do what you asked them to do.

Where, in reality, the truth is free will. Everyone has free will. You have free will. Everyone external to you has free will. So by the law of free will, no one has to do anything.

HANS:
That is correct. Nicely put, Alfred. Thank you for that. Nicely put. Sometimes we take our expectation and we begin to talk to our friends and our family and we share our expectation and then everybody gets excited about our expectation and nothing happens. It's just quiet. It's just... what happened? Nothing happened, children. It's working through its timing. If you listen to the Questions throughout the years here on the Show... and Alfred, I believe we're in our 5th year...

ALFRED:
Yes, I think we are.

HANS:
Yep, I think so. And if you listen to the Questions kids, you will hear so many people say: But when? When you pull your expectation of the time, you begin to open the door for the natural free will of the event, which Spirit already knows, God already knows, and if it is for you, They are currently working on it and will see it through to its rightful conclusion.

However, this is what concerns me as your Teacher. In the process of it not showing up, we start to run the mind chatter that disconnects to our belief. And that is something we all need to be careful of. We don't want to do that. If it doesn't show up, we say: I know it is and I'm preparing myself for when it does. Removing the expectation that says: It has to show up in my expectation, in my time, in my need, so I can feel certain that God loves me. You see?

Now I can hear many of you say: Oh, I don't do that. And I would say to you: You want to bet? For instance, I had a young lady who went to dinner with another young lady friend of hers and they are in their 40's... and a friend of one of them came by to say: Oh, hi. And said: Oh, this is a friend of mine, we're out for the evening. Nice to see you. What's your name? Anyway, that girl went from that place of: Hi, nice to meet you "to" getting married, having children, moving, setting up a whole new life, when there was nothing in the conversation that even mentioned the date.

That's how our mind starts to set an unrealistic expectation. Rather than say: I know someone like that is on the way. I know my perfect partner is, in fact, on the way and I will be ready for it when it happens. And then get on living and loving your god and get on with your life. We don't do that. She's terribly crushed. And she's terribly disappointed because she never heard from the gentleman. The fact that he doesn't have her phone number never seems to enter her mind. But if my god loved me, my god would have set this up for me. You see how that works, Alfred?

ALFRED:
Absolutely. And it's our mind that interferes with the spiritual process of Spirit working “with” us. When we have expectations, when the mind chatter comes in, when we try to figure out how things should be, when we try to control the outcome, then we're telling Spirit: We know what's better.

HANS:
Yes.

ALFRED:
We know what's best for me. And the truth is, while we're in humanness, we have no clue. We don't have the slightest idea about our path in life.

HANS:
No.

ALFRED:
And so the Other Side says: Okay, great. Let me know how that work for you.

HANS:
Right.

ALFRED:
(Laughing)

HANS:
So what I'm trying to get at today, kids, is that living in the wonder of the moment... You have heard Alfred and I discuss this for years now. Just learning to be in the moment - all is well. And you can feel when your mind starts to disrupt your joy. You can feel it! Alfred's always pointing out and saying: And how do you "feel" with this? How do you "feel" when that happens? He's big on the feelings because it's true. And you can "feel" Alfred when you go from being in the bliss to having the mind chatter take over and start kicking you around. You can feel it.

ALFRED:
That's right. Your connection to Spirit is through energy and vibration.

HANS:
Yes.

ALFRED:
That is universal energy, that is clairsentient abilities to communicate and receive guidance from Spirit. And quite simply, if you have an expectation, you are in your head. You're blocking your ability to receive that feeling, to receive that guidance. So basically the lesson here is "it's a choice". If you have an expectation, that's fine. But if you're wondering why expectations hurt, it's because you're approaching life through your mind chatter. The spiritual lesson here instead is to release expectations and live in the moment. Where, from the moment, you'll be able to receive guidance and “feel” if something is for you or not.

HANS:
Absolutely... absolutely. And Alfred, there's a certain bliss that comes from being in the moment. I've been up here for 2 weeks with Bella, just she and I. In these beautiful mountains we go out and sit in the rocking chair out on the front porch in the morning and I have my coffee and I think these words every day: Oh my goodness, how blessed am I to be in this moment. And she curls up, because she doesn't like to get up early... and we just talk and it's a wonderful feeling of no mental activity. Just peace and joy in the moment. Because our mind isn't telling us that anything is wrong.

And that's the only thing... as far as I am concerned about is that the mind chatter brings fear, doubt and sadness to us. You can retrain your mind to start expecting joy, to start expecting peace... you can do that. We've got lots of products on-line that can help you get to that place.

Alright Alfred, I think that will, in fact, conclude the lesson for today.
